I’m commenting about the hibachi section of the restaurant. Our party of 14 ranging in age from 3 to 60 had a fantastic time and a great meal. Our chef Martin was the consummate entertainer — equal parts chef, juggler, comedian and musician — enhancing our experience off the charts with fire, rhythms, song & dance, random shots of saki straight into surprised mouths, and charm. Children and adults alike were mesmerized by his antics and personal interaction. The food was perfectly prepared and portions were over-sized. We will return.

My friends ordered sushi, ate and finished, and I hadn’t didn’t even get my meal yet. After an hour and a half I finally got my meal. Wasn’t the servers fault, but I expected some sort of «sorry» or a visit from the manager. But I got nothing. I’m not a complainer so I went about my business, even though I probably won’t go back.

No golden /tokyo /miso+egg sauce? That’s my favorite part of Hibachi! Food quality and taste here was a-ok and as expected. Prices were on par for comparable restaurants. The chef was either in lazy-late-Sunday mode or not very well practiced… part of Hibachi is definitely the show. If you are going to throw a shrimp at my face try to get it within a foot or two. Beer and sake purchased separately made sake bombs, were reasonably priced, and went down easy. The wait staff however was attentive and didn’t rush me out when I still had half a plate of food and realized my co-horts were getting up to leave after all my blabbing. They did start to clean, but were nice enough to offer a foam cup for my fresh Sapporo when I asked about the local authorities. Send me a better chef and a double order of golden sauce and it would probably flip 1.5 stars for me. Half of this style of eating is the show… so if you aren’t going to execute don’t bother to try at my expense.

Did not like this place at all! Service wasn’t great and the hibachi table we sat at was so grease and dirty! Our meal was cover in oil and salt! I would not recommend this place to anyone!

The service and food is amazing. Can’t believe it only has 3 ½ stars. It’s a jewel in downtown. I’m from Ashland and it’s a special place to go when we can. It and Rocco’s are the only restaurants we’ve been to in the Tri State that offer affordable food for people that know the difference.

Love the food and wait staff here. Good sized portions and quality asian cuisine. You can’t go wrong with TOA or Hibachi up the street. Just take your pick.

Great alcohol, great presentation, subpar food at a high price. The Super China Buffet in Ashland(not Barboursville) has much higher quality sushi than what they offer.

Not as good as Hibachi the next street up. Still good food though. I’ve only eaten at the hibachi grills there not just the Chinese part. The sushi is really amazing though! It’s a little on the pricey side. About $ 70 for two people with alcohol.

Basically ruined my Mother’s Day. The waitress was totally I knowledgable about the menu items. They don’t have a kids menu so I asked that they make a side of fried rice with pineapples and tofu for my 1 year old and she said no until I asked for a manger. Even though we got simple dishes we waited an hour and still no food so we walked out. I hate this town and the crap service. Would give 0 stars if I could.

I like this place! It’s been a long time since I had anything from the hibachi grill part of the restaurant, but I remember that I enjoyed it when I had it. I go here mostly for the sushi, since there aren’t many sushi places in the area. I usually sit at the sushi bar and have the seaweed salad, Thai iced Tea, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and salmon roe with quail egg. Those are my personal favorites. They have a lot of other sushi and sashimi choices though. Their restaurant menu, including the sushi menu, is posted online. I do wish the sushi bar offered uni though. I also don’t know why they won’t let customers who are sitting at the sushi bar, place their orders directly with the sushi chefs. Instead, you have to go through a waitress or bartender for some reason. A friend said he thinks it’s because the sushi chefs may not speak English. Note; There is a lot of competition between Taste of Asia and another hibachi place in town, Hibachi Japanese Steak House. I’ve eaten at them both, and had good meals at both. I prefer this place though because they offer sushi in addition to a good variety of Thai, Chinese and Japanese food. HEADSUP: It’s easy to mix up Huntington’s two hibachi restaurants as their signs are similar and they are located close to each other. If meeting friends for lunch or dinner, be clear about which place you’re meeting at. LOL, ask me how I know that! :-) WARNING: Don’t forget to feed the meters, especially during lunchtime. City parking enforcement officers take their jobs very seriously. You will get ticketed 60 seconds after your meter runs out.

I love to sit at the bar and eat sushi during the lunch hour. Sushi is fresh and well presented. Excellent! Friendly, attentive staff. I also enjoy the panang curry chicken(just the right level of spice), hot and sour soup, and the General Tso’s chicken.

I only eat at Taste of Asia for the sushi, which this restraunt does much, much better than the other 2 sushi places in the Huntington area. However, out of the 4 times in the last 2 months ive ordered sushi, I’ve had to send something back. I have been brought yellow ikura and frozen salmon sashimi, both, on more than one occasion. However, I give Taste of Asia 4 stars because the management is excellent, as the restraunt is not hesitant to replace, or remove unacceptable items from the bill.

Nice ambient atmosphere . I orderd the general tso and its hard to please me but it passed with flying colors. The food was great, the right proportions and the right taste . Parking is a bit of a problem(although 25 cents in the parking meter gives you one hour!)

Taste of Asia has awesome Thai Curry. Obviously they’re competing with Thai House across the street, and for the curry I think TOA wins. The sushi is also delicious. The pad Thai is better across the street. The service here is decent. And when I’ve gone with 4 or fewer people I’ve never had to wait.
