Great deal, especially with a Groupon. We started with the addictive bacon-wrapped dates. Savory and sweet with grilled scallions. Juicy, tender skirt steak, more than one person might finish, was accompanied by my choice of a side salad(the other options(Zucchini and cauliflower or French fries). The salad was a bowl of romaine with a few slivers of tomato, cucumber and red onion. Too much green for me. Red sangria, mixed at the table, was a fine summer sipper and the list of Argentine wines seemed fairly priced. Service, provided by Darwin, cited in past reviews, was attentive. Music was a tad too loud for my ears. With another Groupon deal, I’d be back in a flash!

I went here for a 2 year anniversary dinner. The place was slightly small but big enough. There was a side by the bar with tables along the wall and then also a bigger room with tables spread out. The hostess was very kind and entertained us during the wait for our table. I used a Groupon and got a mega deal on dinner. My girl & I ordered the Parrillada for two and it was the most red meat i’ve ever been served. There is plenty for two people from skirt steak, to lamb chops to sausage. I had leftovers for days. The appetizers were also good. I ordered the bacon covered dates, empanadas & side of bechamel mashed potatoes. Everything tasted great and i would definitely go there again. If you’re looking for a good steak meal, or good date place in Huntington Sur Argentinian is a great choice, just be sure to check Groupon for a deal, it’s well worth it.

Awesome! Super chill spot that my wife and I went to. The service was 5 star and so was the steak! I got the bone in ribeye and my wife got the filet… HUGE delicious juicy steaks. Seriously. Pitcher of sangria brought it all together. If you’re considering this place, DOIT! Awesome drinks, awesome food, the best service. Josephine is the BEST! She made the experience unforgettable.

Loved it! This was our first time(using a Groupon, too!) after hearing and reading many sparkling recommendations. We were greeted at our table with a welcoming smile from Darwin, who was delightful from appetizers to dessert. A+ for service! Onto the food. Appetizer… Dates wrapped in bacon were spectacular! Sweet, gooey, salty candy-like goodness. Couple that with Darwin’s special Sangria and I was good to go! The main course was the mixed grill. I only had room for the baby lamb chops which were divine. My husband was in all his carnivorous glory with the other options. We had enough leftover for our 2 kids we left at home! We will be back with the family next time. Make sure to make reservations as it is a small, cozy gem in the heart of Huntington.

This Friday was our second time at Sur. And I can assure you, we will be back. We had a Groupon… I like the fact that they present you with 2 checks… one with the Groupon price and one with the full price. Tip according to the full price. Darwin was our charming waiter… again. After having him serve us the first timw, we requested to be seated in his station. You won’t find a better server in the town of Huntington. The 3 of us shared an antipaso for 2. It was large enough to serve 4. Fried shrimp, calamari, beef on skewers, bacon wrapped dates, shrimp in some kind of delicious sauce. Would def. get this again. Our entrees… ribeye, short ribs(not my favorite, but still good. Darwin DID say that they were grilled not braised so it was my own fault.) and filet mignon in a delightful pepper sauce. My cup of cappuchino had a delightful teddy bear drawn in the foam. Very cute. We will be back… and will ask to sit with Darwin!

Amazing time Came in with a Groupon(make sure to make a reservation first and let them know about the Groupon) Went with my boyfriend on a Sunday lunch date. Not too packed but the table size was a lil small for all the food we got. All the food was great and cooked just the way we like it, we had the mixed meat plate for two which comes with two sides, we got a salad and mashed potatoes. Potatoes were creamy and the salad was fresh. To drink we got a half size pitcher of white sangria. We would definitely come back such a nice quiet place to just relax and eat good food. My boyfriend liked the fact that the servers left us alone while we ate our food(he hates being asked 7x if we need anything) When we paid the check the chef came out and thanked us for coming in which was really sweet.

I don’t give it a 5 because last night was our first night trying this restaurant but I loved everything about it. The food was great, our server was attentive, drinks were on point. The place is small but welcoming. Def would be visiting again

The mixed grill was definitely not as good as I thought it would be. All the meat was way too rare and chewy(not in the good way). Was very disappointed. Had limited time so I didn’t send the food back, in hindsight I should have.

This has become a «go to» place for my wife and I. The restaurant has two rooms, we prefer the front bar room to the other rear room. The menu has very good options. The rib steak is delicious with a very nice rub. Ask for them to char it for you. The paella is good but it could stand a little more seasoning. The pork chops are also a good choice. Side dishes are good and they are very willing to accommodate. Service is good but they can get behind and take a while to get food out. Still they are very nice and helpful. Overall — great value, good food, nice atmosphere(front room!) and willing staff.

We decided to come here after walking by another night and smelling the amazing aromas coming out of the door. First off the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They made our dinner so much fun! Every single dish had amazing flavor and was cooked perfectly. The filet mignon with black pepper sauce was so tender and had a little kick because of the pepper. The lobster risotto and lamb were also very good. Will definitely be returning.

If I butcher this review, please forgive me, I’ve never been to Argentinian steakhouse or restaurant before(Is it the same as a Churrascaria?) Regardless of how the steaks are prepared, Sur Argentinian Steakhouse is in Huntington village. And I do know a thing or two about Huntington Village. Walking into the restaurant, you’re faced with a small bar and a few tables. We were greeted by a few waiters and we made a right through a narrow opening into the dining room. It’s a dark and inviting spot, we’re seated and the wait staff was all over us. I’m looking forward to a nice glass of wine, my wife wanted to try their Sangria. The waiter is talking about the menu, I had him stop at bacon wrapped dates. Bacon. Wrapped Dates… We ordered the dates as well a pitcher of their Sangria. The Sangria was on point!(I think I got a little buzz from it) And the dates? Mmm mm. Is this an Argentinian specialty? Yummy For our main entrée, we ordered a small mixed meat plate. Small is something not understood in Argentinia, the plate was huge! It was a nice assortment of sausages, steak, lamb, pork and sweetbreads. I was getting full from the dates, the meat push me into a tryptophan coma! We were so full from our meal. If you’re looking for a nice night out, I highly recommend Sur Argentinian Steakhouse. *Don’t cry for me Argentina… Sorry, I couldn’t resist

The reason we came here instead of the other Argentinian restaurant in town was because I bought a good deal on Groupon. We made reservations for 7:15 on a Saturday night but once we got there, we realized reservations weren’t needed based on the small place being less than three quarters full. Be aware, we just came from a happy hour around the block and were feeling the alcohol so as soon we arrived for dinner, we wanted our food as quick as possible. However, the exact opposite happened which is why I am giving three stars instead of 4 or even 5. The food itself was amazing! Two types of sliced fresh bread with butter and pâté came out first so we scarfed that down pretty quick. Wish they came back with more bread because we waited so long for our food. First issue, for a good ten minutes of sitting down with waiters walking passed us left and right, we had no service. Not even a drink order or a hello… Our waiter finally came over and was very nice but throughout the night, not very attentive. Once we finally got to order, we started with a glass of wine and sangria as well as ordering the chorizo appetizer and our steak entrees. The chorizo appetizer with caramelized onions piping hot in a skillet was amazing! The onions were cooked in the fat from the pork and the appetizer itself was way more than enough to share between us. It took over an hour, and trust me we counted those minutes seeing how hungry we were. We asked twice after 45 minutes where our food was. If I did not have a Groupon ready to go, I might have asked my girlfriend if she wanted to leave and get fed somewhere else. The entrees came next and the again the food itself was amazing. My skirt steak was cooked medium rare how I order as well as my girlfriends steak cooked to perfection. Both entrees came with a choice of side and we opted both for the roasted vegetables. We each took half our steaks home because of meat overload. We still wanted something sweet so order a slice of tres leches cake, I think. The cake was served in a plate with an amazing sauces all around it. Desert was good but a small slice of $ 9. Overall, I wouldn’t come back before I try the other Argentinian place in Huntington. The food is amazing here, no doubt about that but the service, besides the water refills, was sub par at best. If you have a couple of hours to kill this is your spot for well cooked meat. Our entire dinner took over 2 hours.

One of my favorite local restaurants is Tango Argentinian Steakhouse in Brentwood. And so I have to say that I am very disappointed in it’s sister restaurant in Huntington. Two recent visits and not a highlight to discuss. First of all the space is dark and dreary — not at all a happy place. The menu is very similar to Brentwood, but the prices are significantly higher.(OK, this is Huntington.) Worst of all is that the menu seems to be dumbed down. Shrimp ajillo in Brentwood is wonderful, garlicky and delicious… Here it tastes like shrimp in Campbell’s tomato soup. I“ve tried the steak, the lamb chops, and the salmon. None were worth repeating. The lamb, for instance, came to the table overdone and literally swimming in an overly sweet sauce. Our servers seemed inexperienced and did not add to the meals. Never at the right place at the right time. So, I guess its back to Brentwood — that’s truly a great restaurant.

Took my girlfriend here for brunch, the food and service were amazing! The sangria is divine and is included with the brunch specials. Our waiter Darwin was exceptional and recommended the applewood bacon wrapped dates, which were awesome. Brunch was amazing and everything was so good. We are totally coming back soon for dinner.

Shout out to our server Josephine, she made us feel like friends and was so funny and fantastic. We ordered the first of 2 platters that are supposedly for 2 people($ 58) and 4 people could have eaten it happily. Comes with so much meat. And 2 sides– we got salad and fries. Salad was eh but even the fries were soooooo good. The platter was. So. Amazing. And we have leftovers and happy bellies. The skirt steak was my favorite, the ribs my least(still good). Came with 2 sauces for the meat that were awesome. I think the best place in Huntington.

I used to love a place by the same name that was in Brooklyn… Cobble Hill maybe? I’m not sure. A nice neighborhood. I wanted to go there and couldn’t find it online — but this kept popping up. And we were at my mom’s on Long Island(Oyster Bay) for a few nights so bonus — it’s so close! My husband and I took my mom and the exchange student we were hosting at the time for a birthday dinner for the exchange student/our anniversary and were very impressed. The spot is dark but warm and the waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly — never overbearing. With our very distinct tastes AND our food issues we were able to all find something we loved. We were also treated to a beautifully plated dessert. The steaks are exceptional but we all had steak — once I come back and try something else I’ll inevitably bump this to a 5 because I can’t imagine anything being less than great. My only gripe is that my husband mentioned to the waiter that I’m a wine writer and and then he wouldn’t stop asking me if I would write about there/where I would write about them. While yes, I’m a wine writer and yes, I may write about you, if I make it clear that I’m just out enjoying my meal then it’s best to just let me enjoy my meal. Or at least it’s the polite thing to do. This was more my husband’s fault than the waiter’s. He mentioned it to other staff who kept walking by, staring… it was a little weird. I’m not a NY Times food critic, folks, sorry to disappoint. I cannot wait to go back, it’s made the shortlist for my birthday dinner. And that is a VERY difficult list to make!

I dined here with my group on Friday, 7⁄24. We were seated promptly in the larger and quieter room adjacent to the very small bar(not enough space to congregate). Our servers, Nico and Darwin, were pleasant and efficient. My porterhouse was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. It came with a side(very good mashed potatoes was my choice), which most steakhouses do not offer gratis. My neighbor’s NY Strip was boneless, huge and cooked a perfect medium rare like my steak. Believe me, that is a positive because I hate sending anything back. Members also enjoyed the salmon & crêpe entrees. I was told that the apple crêpe dessert with vanilla ice cream was luscious. I would definitely return. I would run back if there was prime rib on the menu, which there is not.

I kept hearing mixed reviews about this place and my friend wanted steak so we decided to try it. We walked in on a Saturday night with no reservations and only had to wait about 5 min! The staff were all very nice and the manger or owner came around to everyone’s table to see how we liked our food. The bread came out with butter and a liver spread that seriously reminded me of my grandfathers homemade chopped liver! The sangria was just ok but some of the other specialty drinks were really good. I ordered the bacon wrapped dates and let me tell you, if I had to choose one thing to eat for the rest of my life, I would eat those until the day I died! If you don’t order them, I feel so sorry for you! I had filet mignon with peppercorn sauce and some potatoes that were absolutely delish. The piece of steak I had was so giant that 2 people could have shared it easily. I ate it for lunch the next day and I still have some left over! Bottom line, go there!
