I’ve have shopped at many Stop & Shops. While I mainly shop at the Northport location, which is wonderful in all ways, I do shop at the new Huntington location at lease once a week out of necessity. I was very happy to see Waldbaum’s disappear. I was hoping for the usual lovely shopping experience at the new store. However, I have been extremely disappointed. The selection of most items is very limited or non-existent. The shelves are not well stocked. They don’t carry some very basic items. Many time the shelves are sparsely populated or empty. They have simply slapped the S&S name on the building and have not made any improvements. The lighting in the store is very dim, most employees don’t know where things are, the outside of the store needs sprucing up, the lines get very long, very often — not enough cashiers. Several times while shopping there, other customers have shared their disappointment. People have very little options on where to go grocery shopping in the Huntington Village area. The only other alternatives are King Kullen — WAYOVERPRICED, or Wild By Nature. Also overpriced and mostly organic selection. Whoever is managing this store needs to be replaced!

This S n’ S has replaced an expensive & despicable Waldbaum’s this past year. Ding Dong the Witch is Dead, Munchkin Hips ! Now, I am not 100% certain what is going on here – and I am not going to ask any questions because this Stop n’ Shop is great ! Lots of fair«everyday» prices on basics(something Waldbaums NEVER did). Great sales on frozen foods & frozen desserts (Waldbaum’s used to ask $ 5.00 for a pint of Hagen Daas! F. U. Julia Waldbaum !) Stop n Shop(at this location) has lots of different SALE items any given week. And MORE options offering«generic» brands(especially on damn CRACKERS. No thanks Waldbaum’s; I’m NOT going to spend $ 3.99 on a f***king box of Triscuits) Modest to fair pricing on produce(who can forget when Waldbaums was charging almost a dollar for a single LIME !? In a pinch once I paid $ 5.00 for a bottle of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice ! I can go on and on here… I cannot tell you how many times I left that store angry because of their prices!) S n’ S features LOTS of «clearance» items as well!(produce, bakery, pre-package) SCORED: — a bag of 6 or 7 ripe avocados for $ 1.49(! wahoo ! Guacamole & chips for dinner!) — pre-packed discount rack had boxes of health-food store grade fruit & nut bars(very similar to KIND bars but a different lesser known brand: $ 1.24 each ! And they were delicious ! Bought 6 boxes!) — bag of big red peppers(always about a buck each) 7 or 8 for about $ 1.00 and they still seemed fresh. — really good(large) sweet potato pie $ 2.24 ! — those REALLY good(forget the brand) crispy flat«gourmet» chocolate chip cookies in the clear upright bag closed with a green twist-tie $ 2.14 ! — last week they had a dairy section clearance(it was small with not many items but I am looking forward to seeing what pops up there in the future) . When the Waldbaum’s had«clearance» that would mark UP the items as far as they could reach(a box of Pop Tarts like $ 3.69!) then just make it «half price». No thanks you a**holes. Now, not all Stop n’ Shops are this cheap so, again, not sure what’s going on but I’m a fan. Roast In Hell, Waldbaum’s. Your days of ripping off the public are O V E R ! Ba ha ha ha ha…
