Whenever i need good quality work done on an acoustic guitar tis is where I go. Scott does an awesome job with every thing he has done for me in the past. He has created new saddles and nuts for my guitars, reglued bridges, installed pickups — and everything was always perfect.

Scott’s depth of knowledge as a craftsman shows in his amazing guitar building work. Scott’s ability to do repairs, set-ups…etc. is also top notch.
I recently purchased a personally owned guitar of his that was shipped to me (as I no longer live in his area). The guitar arrived in perfect condition and was expertly packaged.

All I can say is «WOW!» Literally. I keep saying it, every time I pick up my guitar, a 1962 Martin D-​28. I have owned it for about 40 years and it never sounded this good. Scott came highly recommended years ago when my Taylor and later my Martin need warranty work. I was always happy with the work so when it came time for me to have a Pic up put in my Martin Scott was the only one I contacted for both his recommendation of which pick up to use and to get it done. As always spot on and great work. As far as the Long Island music scene goes when every you talk about luthier’s Scotts the first one everyone talks about. Thanks for the great work!

I have trusted Scott with my two Taylor acoustic guitars (812c and 614ce) for well over 10 years. His attention to detail and extensive knowledge of design elements and the physics of guitar construction is unmatched. For years I had been unhappy with the playability of my 614ce. I even sent it back to Taylor for a neck reset, but it continued to be problematic. Finally I gave it to Scott, who performed another neck reset and other adjustments. After that, the guitar played like I had always hoped it would. I purchased my 812c in 2000 and had a highlander pickup installed elsewhere but was never happy with it. Scott recommended that I try a LR Bagg i-​Mix system, which he installed, and it was the best decision I could have made. Years later, I was having some playability issues with the 812c. This guitar presented a different set of problems because it has an older style neck assembly, so I was very anxious about messing with it. None-​the-​less, I trusted Scott, and he was able to restore this very special guitar to it’s original glory.
Scott generally follows strict guidelines pertaining to his office hours. This is understandable since his office is in his home, so he tries to establish reasonable boundaries. He is conscientious and honest. His fees are reasonable for the level of care and expertise he puts into his work.
I would highly recommend Scott for anyone who has an acoustic instrument that is special (and don’t we all?).

I just picked up my koa K65 Taylor 12 string from Scott’s shop today. It needed some warranty work and i had him reground the frets and do a complete set up as well. In the 12 years I’ve owned this beauty — it has never played this fine. You’ll never find a better luthier than Scott. He came highly recomended by Taylor — to the point that they laughed when I called and said just bring it to Scott — he’s a short way from you and he’s the best there is! Trust your baby with him. He is also autorized to do work on Martin and Gibson.
