This is a very small airport, but it is very under rated. It is a very nice airport. However, there are not many places to stop to get food, drinks, and other beverages.

Flying in from Philadelphia VERY Small airport. Rude staff in the«deli» I apparently interrupted their break to pay for my drink. Took forever to get my luggage. Was frustrated after a long day of traveling long line at the bathroom. I’ll take my chances with my big city airport any day.

The best part about this airport is that it’s tiny so there is no fear of missing your flight because the security line took too long or a long walk to your gate. You can practically walk in, get thru security, and be at your gate in 5 — 10 minutes. There really is no food or any amenities available so plan on finding food elsewhere. There was a small snack shop there but they were closed when I was there. I’ve also been told that sometimes if you arrive more than an hour before your scheduled flight the airport itself may be closed. You get the idea — no big airport worries here.

No bar. US Airways is your choice. Drive the 40 miles to Charleston.

I actually really like this airport. My family refuses to move out of the sticks so this is the best option(believe it or not) for flying in for a visit. My other choices are CMH in Columbus OH or LEX in Lexington KY. Both are a two hour drive to my final destination. Which amounts to a four hour round trip for the family member who is unlucky enough to be my designated chauffeur. So, more often than not, I opt to fly into the small town metropolis, a mere 45 minutes from my olé KY home. It’s a really small airport with only two gates, a single line for security check, a small concession stand, two restrooms(per gender), and a single belt for baggage claim. After being dropped off at the front door, you can literally go through ticketing, security, and be at your departure gate in less than 10 minutes. Maybe less than five if you don’t have luggage to check and there is no line. There is no maintenance crew. If your plane has an issue it will be grounded until a crew can be dispatched from the airport in Charleston WV. I know this from experience. Even with all of the possible hiccups, the convenient little Tri-State airport is the best option for this area.
