If I could eat here every day of my life, I would. The only thing not perfect about this restaurant in my opinion is that they don’t serve salads on their brunch menu. I made the mistake of going there on a Saturday and had to wait until 2:30 to order my beloved salad! Seriously if you’re a salad person the«black sheep salad» with chicken is the absolute bomb. I’ve also had their chicken and baja tacos and they are delicious as well. I also always order their chips and queso and(although the queso somehow always has a different consistency every time I get it) it is always amazing. Although the service is sometimes spotty and it can take a long time to get your food, If you are ever in Huntington or Charleston this is the place to go.

My fiancé and I love trying different craft beers so when we were in town for the night we decided to try here. Service and food were fine, but the beer was major thumbs down. Both of ours, the grisette and the sonny something. tasted like your average bud light/coors.

Excellent combination of flavors, excellent service. Good atmosphere and open mic music added to it. I recommend the steak burrito and the nachos with black beans is to die for…

Black Sheep Burrito & Brews is located in a corner storefront across from the original building for Marshall University. It contains two dining areas, one of which also contains a bar; and an al fresco area along the sidewalk facing Marshall. The interior is decorated with local artists’ creations and it has a bit of a steampunk vibe. I ordered a Rogue Cold Brew Coffee IPA, which had a nice coffee flavor and went down easy. For lunch I ordered the House-Cured Cold Smoked Salmon Salad, which came with cold smoked salmon(of course) on a bed of mixed greens, with fire-roasted peppers, cashews, dried cranberries, wonton strips, and dressed with miso-orange dressing. The mixed greens were crunchy and very fresh. The cold-smoked salmon was delicious and had no fishy by-tastes. The fire-roasted pepper strips were a nice addition to this salad as were the wonton strips. I mostly managed to avoid the dried cranberries(not a fan). The dressing was light with just enough presence to add to the overall deliciousness of this salad. The noise level in the Black Sheep was to the very loud side, making conversation hard. The restaurant has large open spaces with very little noise-dampening materials. This was my only, minor grump about the Sheep. Service was casual, but they were quite busy, though the waits were not interminable. Overall worthy of a return visit it we ever are in the rea again.

A great place to eat! I suggest the curry or steak burritos. The Sunday brunch is one of my favorite places to go on Sunday morning’s.

This is a really nice place with a unique and fun atmosphere. Close to marshall campus so a great hub and place to chill. I ordered the Flock of Tacos in the Portobello, Steak, and Hawaiian pork varieties on corn tortillas. They all had great flavor, and my only criticism was the meat. The meat on the pork and steak was overdone, and pretty dry. I wish they were more properly cooked and moist. I also ordered chips n guac and both of those were SUPER good, as well as my Blackberry Thyme Margarita. All in all a decent place. I would definitely go back and try something else on the menu.

We are on the last leg of our road trip and wanted a good meal after traveling all day. We looked up the top 10 in Huntington and this popped up. It is amazing! The atmosphere is fun, the prices are great, the staff was super friendly and the food… the burritos are SOSOGOOD!!! Best we have had! Highly recommend and would totally come here all the time if we lived closer!

If you haven’t had the brunch, you are missing out. Yes, the tacos and lunch/dinner menu is amazing, but brunch is the absolute best. It is served every Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 am until 3 I believe. The biscuits and gravy is my favorite ever. I go any chance I get. I have also tasted many other brunch options, all of which were amazing. I can’t help but order biscuits and gravy. If you haven’t been, you need to go immediately.

Love this place. Always come here when in Huntington. I park across the street in the«I’m not sure if it’s a paid lot but I’ve never paid» lot! LOL! It’s the lot diagonally across the street. Come in the side door, not the front door b/c the front door is closed off. Just don’t want you to look out of place. Great tacos and craft beer. Food is always excellent and service is perfect — not a lot of fluff. They get your order, get your beer, get your food and get you your check. Perfect. Also a fun place with music some nights. The one in Charleston, WV is great as well. College bar meets young business crowd sophistication… sort of. ;-)

A lot of people rave about this place. I found their food bland and uninteresting with prices too high.

My last visit to Black Sheep was amazing– we shared the wasabi tuna burrito and the Thai burrito with tofu. The server was nice, the food was delicious. I love the outdoor seating. This visit was much nicer than previous visits. I’d say 5 stars, except I really dislike their brunch menu.

This place is a hidden(to us. We were heading from NC to Louisville and my husband appeased my desire to antique. The Huntington exit offered food and antique shops, so we chose it. Thank goodness we did because we would have missed out on this place. We started off with drinks, which were a strawberry rhubarb margarita for myself and a local tap beer(Orange IPA something). They were both great! IMO there was a better drink selection than beer. Then we moved onto food. We started with the salsa trio and moved to the Thai and the B’aaad Ass burritos. The salsas consisted of a Pico, a black bean/corn, and a roasted tomato(hot). The last was my favorite, but my daughter(19 mo) loved the black bean/corn one. The Pico was a traditional one, but still good. My husband said the BA burrito was so hot, but so good. As for the Thai I subbed shrimp and it was amazing. The spicy peanut sauce was pretty spicy, but awesome! I highly recommend this place.

I’m giving it 3 stars because we like the food… but the service is terrible! We sat for 10 min with zero acknowledgement. ZERO! After that we moved to the bar to get service. When my husband explained the situation the bartender relied with«oh, they must of forgot about you.» Not sorry, or I apologize… just that they forgot. I get having a cool restaurant, but when everyone employed is too cool to care… it makes a long awaited and much needed date night, suck!

Excellent food, great selection of local beer, and live music on select nights. Some of the most original and unique food in town. If you’re looking for a chill relaxing place in Huntington to have some brews and eat some great food this is the spot. My Recommendations: –Fire Roasted Chips and Salsa –Black Sheep Salad with Steak(enough for two) –Bulgogi Taco –Fried Avocado Taco

I LOVE coming to this place. The staff is extremely friendly and have no issues with requests. One of my children has a Diary/Soy Allergy and this place HASZEROISSUES accommodating to to it. Their chicken is organic and they use true corn tortila for shells. They also have Dairy/Soy free chips & salsa which taste great. As you can tell from my check-ins, I’ve been here a few times. Every time my son has been to this location, we’ve never had an issue. They also remember us now which makes it easier. The quality of the food at this restaurant is great and I can’t wait to go back. I think everyone should try this place a few times and get multiple dishes. The burritos come split in two so if you have a friend both can order a different one and then swap. They also have specialty cakes that change so if they have one you want to try, don’t second guess and dive right in! The only thing that would be a ding is the fact that the duck tacos are in as a seasonal dish.

Never thought I would say this, the best tacos I have ever had. In Huntington, WV for crying out loud. Got the flock of tacos. Server made me aware I could mix it up. The Thai shrimp, the smoked salmon, and the avocado. All were amazing, the avocado was my favorite but I would recommend all. Server was solid, kind. Atmosphere was quiet, good music. Unfortunately I could not consume a proper beverage, beer selection looked good, saw Ten Fidy and became sad. Can’t wait to go back.

Love the flock of tacos options. Great veg options and good brews. The spicy Mexican mule was awesome –although could’ve been served in a mule without so much ice, for the price, you’re mainly buying a glass of ice and a shot of drink(a very tasty drink). I forgot to request corn tortillas(nor was I asked), which I generally prefer, but the combos made up for it –especially the roasted beet. Sweet atmosphere, comfy, but probably pretty hipster. Still great though!

Stopped by for dinner on a recommendation from a local. He said the beer selection was solid and he was right. I ended up going with the Raj IPA after the bartender kindly let me try a sample of the two IPAs they had on tap. From there I chose the California Tuna Burrito with a side of black beans. I really got excited reading the menu and all of these funky burritos. Unfortunately, it was far from a burrito and just a wrap. I only ate half and the bartender didn’t even inquire if I liked it. It didn’t have too much tuna and the sauce left the wrap soggy and without a nice texture. Good beer, marginal food.

This is bar-none my favorite restaurant. I live about 30 minutes away, and have probably visited around 30 – 40 times. The food is always a home run. I’ve had every burrito on the menu, as well as the sides, most of the tacos and quesadillas, and some of the salads and sandwiches. I always stick to the burritos because they are the perfect portion size, and you can take half of it home if you don’t finish. My three favorite items on the menu are the Chicken Curry Burrito, Brisket Burrito, and the Baaaad Ass Burrito. The Bad Ass features a sweat and spicy habanero death sauce that will force you to get a refill on your drink. I also highly recommend the Sweet Potato Salad. The food is always good, and I’ve never had a problem with the service. Been coming here since it opened, and probably will be for the duration of the business.

Alright, so… Yes, this place is somewhat hipstery… And no, they weren’t willing to do any kind of substitutions for those of us with dietary restrictions… But the food really is great. We managed to find something on the menu that we could eat, so it turned out fine. Service is pretty friendly and prices are fairly reasonable.(I haven’t gone out to eat in over a month, so to me, it was expensive, but I’m told that my behavior is not the norm.) I originally really wanted to get the flock of tacos, but we came for brunch and it wasn’t an option, so I narrowed my choices down to the smoked duck benedict and one of the burritos, but they weren’t willing to sub the bacon for anything else, so I went for the brisket burrito(Dijon-glazed, Texas style Smoked Brisket + House Sweet Slaw, Blueberry BBQ sauce + house-made pickle) with the sweet potato salad. It was absolutely delicious, although slightly runny with the(very tasty) sauce.(My hand was drenched and my plate looked like a tiny pond.) My friends ordered the chicken & waffles(if you’re not a fan of super-super sweet, ask for syrup on the side), old school benedict, portabello sandwich(vegan), and some sort of quesadilla(she was at the other end of the table, so I didn’t see what she got. If I’m ever in Huntington again, I would love to come back to try the tacos(Bulgogi, smoked duck + smoked salmon!)!
