Place reminds me of the old-style A&Ws that I grew up with in the south. «Fast food»(and they DO mean fast!), great root beer and quick and good service. We were driving down the road on a Holiday and noticed this place was open and veered into the parking lot as I wanted to give them a try, being as I was thirsty and wanted a light bite to eat. I was told that this«brand» of root beer had been available long ago in northern states and wife was surprised to see this place open, too. The«curb-service» was very fast and accurate, however, wanted to know if the diet root beer was made with Splenda, saccharine, or Nutrasweet and had to go inside to find that out. Bad news was its made with Nutrasweet(which I get migraines from), but good news was that the«kitchen» area was exceptionally clean(a definite plus!) The root beer was awesome, foamy and rich, the only complaint I had was that I should have gotten several cups to go as the taste was addictive. As far as food goes, this is a place to grab a bite if you are already there(typical roadside menu), however, its definitely a place to go if you a root beer connoisseur. Definitely a «MUSTSTOPHERE» place if you find yourself in the Huntington area(a charming area.)

Just outside the old downtown section of this tiny town in the northeastern corner of Indiana sits the B-K Drive In – a welcome respite for us thirsty travelers from the East Coast. Although the quarter pound cheeseburger won’t bump off any of the burgers on my top 10 list, B-K wins praise for its creamy, fresh-tasting root beer, nostalgic drive-in atmosphere and friendly service. I had never heard of this drive-in chain before my first trip to Indiana this summer, but I got used to seeing their brown and orange signs as we drove through the state’s many towns and it was always a pleasure to see them!
