I hired Mona Conway in April 2015 to represent me in a civil case involving my previous employer. Over the past 9 months, I had contacted Ms. Conway for updates and either I was ignored or told firmly to not worry about it, she was handling it. Because she was representing me for a reduced rate, I respected her wishes and only contacted her when my ECourt update indicated there was a decision, but again got no response. On 1÷13÷16, I received an ECourt update indicating that my case had been Disposed and a link with the Order was included. When I opened it, I was floored to learn that the Plaintiff had been awarded a default decision because Ms. Conway failed to attend multiple conferences. I immediately tried to call Ms. Conway, only to find that all of her numbers were disconnected. I did call an associate who shares Ms. Conway’s office who said he would get her on her cell and have her call me back. No call back. I then emailed her on 3 email accounts, again, no response. I really thought Ms. Conway was a good lawyer when I met with her and that she would handle my case properly. I cannot believe that she just abandoned my case and didn’t have the integrity to notify me that she would no longer represent me. Very disappointing because now I have to find another attorney before the next conference and hope that the Judge vacates the Order. Mona has another complaint on the Better Business Bureau from another client claiming that she took money from them and they never heard from her. How could someone run their practice this way and get away with it?
