Zero star rating. My whole building was set up with TWC services — for years. I paid their bills on time every month for years. I sold my building. New buyer couldn’t get TWC service in their name for several weeks because TWC had to install new boxes. I paid TWC on the date the final bill was due. On that same date, TWC sent my bill to a collection agency, not checking to see if payment had been received.
After all these years, after all the phone calls to TWC during this time closing my account, etc, THEY SEND MY ACCOUNT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY after they received my money not bothering to check my account. I was treated like some deadbeat! I had to call TWC again wasting more time to make sure my credit would not be trashed. TWC would not issue me a letter stating they had received my money and the letter to the collection agency had been issued in error. This is really bad business!
I will never deal with this horrible company again.

This is the worst internet provider ever. After I signed up with TWC for internet, they began calling me every single week trying to get me to sign up for cable television, despite the fact that I did not own a television at the time. When I finally moved out of my apartment and canceled my internet they told me I had to return the modem. I went to the location they told me on the phone just to find the location closed. After several attempts to return the box, I drove an hour and returned the box to the only store I knew about in Huntington Beach. Since then TWC claims they never received the box and has continues to harass me for $ 60. Each week I talk to a new agent and each week it seems the previous agent does not write down the details of what happened although they say they did. I am not going to pay for something I RETURNED! It is amusing to watch them spend hundreds of dollars to collect $ 60. You think they would be smarter about their business and customer service for how big of a company they are.

Not just the worst cable and Internet service provider but the worst company of any company.
They literally commit fraud by trying to overcharge and add service that I did not order. Their tech service people are incompetent .
I’ve been trying to return their pos modem driving around to 3 different location. Update your your addresses you idiots or post a phone number to the actual retail store instead of your outsourced Philippines support center which they hang up on you 70% of the time that’s if you can get through.
I hate this company. Feels like road rage in the 90’s in LA traffic at 6:30!

Also, just a heads up for people that don’t know, but TWC throttles youtube videos to conserve their bandwidth.
I was a loyal customer for almost 10 years, but over the past year I noticed that youtube videos would always stop to buffer. Many times they would simply not buffer at all. I thought it was a technical problem and I did all kinds of troubleshooting steps to try to resolve it, which didn’t help.
After doing some research I found out that they throttle youtube videos. This was a deal breaker for me considering how much I use the site. Fortunately Verizon just installed fiber optic cable in my apartment complex, and I switched ISP’s.
I’ve never had a youtube video pause on me since.
Make sure you get what you pay for!

Worst company i ever dealt with. I am 55 years old and they flately ripped me off. They tolad me free instillation only to discover they charged me $ 164.35 for instillation. when i called i was speaking to theie customer service located in the Phillipenes, after they put me on hold for one hour with no help they disconnected my service even though i did not request that. THe $ 174.50 i paid for the first month and a $ 50.00 deposit went down the drain. I paid my money and their service was disconnected in two weeks.
Dont ever consider these animals.

Their TV navigation is terrible and their Internet is slow. Switched to Verizon Fios which has a better TV navigation system, way faster Internet and is less expensive for the package we had

Don’t ever move to a new apartment or house if you have TWC. They’ll convince you over the phone that nothing will change, that it will be easy, etc. The truth is you’ll end up raped for a double bill your first month in the new place.
If you call to question or dispute the additional charge, you’ll get some confusing explanation of how a new account had to be created and how they always charge in advance. If you ask to speak to a supervisor you run the risk of being hung up on after waiting on hold for upwards of 30 minutes.
I’ve never understood all the complaints about this company until today.
Now I fully understand, and encourage anyone and everyone to go with DISH, DirecTV or Verizon for their cable, internet and phone packages.

Left TMC after 12 years. Last straw working from home and Internet connection kept going down. Went to Fios. Saving 40 a month for same bundle, and less hassle!
I gave them 1 star because they didn’t fight me on leaving, just took the equipment and gave me my receipt!

WHAT DOES TWC STAND FOR? THE WORST CABLE CO!
In ²⁄₁₂ I received my statement and my bill went up by $ 30 compared to the previous month. When I called for an explanation I was informed that I was given a notice that rates were going up. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time to read all that crap. TWC should have sent a notice stating that your bill will be going up by x amount vs sending me a fee schedule and trying to figure the $shit out. I then asked about changing my services so that I can reduce my bill. The dumb$shit rep stated I can’t change for one month! WTF?
My next step was to send a complain to the FCC, the stupid government agency that supposedly regulates TWC. I think the FCC also regulates the Secret Service because FCC might stand for F*CK COLUMBIAN CHICAS — LOL. I finally receive a call from TWC on ⁴⁄₁₂ and the rep apologizes and says he will lower my bill and give me HBO free for 12 months. I was out of town at the time so I could not verify that HBO had been activated.
When I returned HBO had not been activated. I called TWC again and the rep stated she had no record of my conversation with her colleague the week before. Can you say NOW I AM MOTHER F*CKIN PISSED OFF NOW? I hung up and sent TWC and e-​mail. The e-​mail stated that I would receive a response within 24 hours. Tue passes and I send another e-​mail on ⁴⁄₁₈ and I received another e-​mail stating I would receive a response within 24 hours. Its Fri, ⁴⁄₂₀ and I still have not received a response.
I sent another complaint to the FCC for whatever good that will do. I need to find a reliable cable company that isn’t going to screw me.
NOW DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT FU TWC STANDS FOR?

My oh my, I wish there was a 0 star option– perhaps even a negative star option. i have suffered under the iron fist of fail warner because they hold a tyrannical monopoly over the cable options in my area. Every single time I have called to downgrade or cancel my service, I am systematically placed on hold for upwards of 25 minutes.
I assure you, this is call center policy. Here is the process: screen the call, attempt to overcome the client’s objection and keep service, and if this fails: infinity hold.
I also had an individual transfer me to a department that was… closed. I unwittingly waited on hold for a department that was closed for the evening. Strong. One individual also could not or would not even tell me how to cancel service so I had to call back and talk to someone else (who was actually helpful– one happy smiley star). God’s speed, time warner. You are the WORST

why would a cable/​internet store have stains all over the carpet? this Time Warner store could use a good carpet cleaning.
I went into the store because ordering internet online was impossible. the representative in the store was not able to help me, even after I demonstrated on a computer how their online ordering was not working.
she took down my information for a supervisor to call me the next day. it’s been 2 days, and no one called.
luckily, I finally found a representative over the phone that gave me the online rate.

They really don’t care about a one star rating… it’s nearly a monopoly. If you call customer support, ask them if they’re in the United States. If they say no, ask to speak to someone in the United States. This company makes a huge profit and they would make a huge profit even if they didn’t outsource their customer service.

To my surprise my TWC internet bill went up $ 4 this month. Time Warner decided to start charging a modem lease fee. I’ve had the same modem for 8 years. I’ve never agreed to pay a lease fee. Apparently Time Warner claims to have notified customers of this. The notification was not sufficient, because I had no clue.
I purchased a used cable modem on eBay for $ 8 shipped. F U TW.
I hear there is class action lawsuit regarding the new modem lease fee.

Odd. the review at this place is a solid one star, and i’m sure if it were possible, a solid zero star. so why am i giving it a 3 star review instead? because i’m not reviewing the quality of the products or lack there of, i’m reviewing the location, the employees and whatever else.
employees are helpful, at least to me. they know what they’re talking about for the most part, at least for their products. when it comes to comparison shopping, sometimes you’re stuck with whoever because of your area. do i want Verizon FiOS? of course, can i get it? well, of course NOT. so i make do with what i can get. Time Warner is decent. I’ve had worse service and worse customer service with AT&T for home services.
I have Time Warner cable internet, and i’ve always been happy with it. I don’t watch TV so I don’t care to have tv service.
This location has some 30−45min parking surrounding the area, or you can park in the structure nearby. it’s pretty small and kinda messy at times, but it’s not hard to find someone to answer your questions or help get you hooked up for whatever service you need. :)

I should have read these reviews before I actually tried to be a customer. All I want is cable and high speed internet, but I feel that Time Warner creates more obstacles and issues to make you not want to be a customer.
I moved into the Huntington Beach area and was made aware what Time Warner officered; cable, internet, and phone. Great! This should be easy.
Step 1.
I called (888) TW-​CABLE on ⁹⁄₂₃ and the representative could not activate my new account. The previous resident at the unit I live in now had a collections hold on their account however, because I reside in the same unit I needed to show proof on new residence. I brought my rental agreement to the customer’s service office in Fountain Valley on ⁹⁄₂₅ and the «rental agreement with my name and move in date» would not suffice. I couldn’t speak to «Carmelita» in the collections office till Monday. That bald desk agent was rude and robotic. I faxed the utility bill on Sunday. On Monday, I spoke to Denise 714. 414.1405 in collections and it was never received even though I had a confirmation page. Denise was the kindest person I spoke too and she actually worked in collections.
Step 2.
Needless to say, Denise cleared the account but I had to speak to Time Warner (888) TW-​CABLE directly. I finally spoke to another representative. I was told that a «soft credit» was needed to open my account. I asked her to clarify it was a «soft credit hit» and not a «hard credit hit» because it would be on my credit report for two years. So… I informed Time Warner that I had a previous account in Palm Desert, hoping that would be good enough. Low and behold, the representative told me I had a hanging balance and that I needed to call to pay that balance. In which case, she «needed» to charge me a $ 50 deposit fee plus my cost of $ 136.77 at time of installation.
Step 3.
I called Palm Desert Time Warner 888.738.1323 on ¹⁰⁄₅ and nope. According to Amanda, I had no hanging balance and everything was correct and current. She suggested that Huntington Beach call the Palm Desert office to clarify the error. I wanted to verify this hanging balance before the installation on ¹⁰⁄₆ because I was still weary about this whole experience with Time Warner Cable.
Step 4.
I phoned H.B. Time Warner 888. TW-​CABLE and spoke to Robyn. She informed me that it was not possible to access the P.D. account because it was in the desert region. She also informed me that all inquiries would affect my credit score unlike a «soft inquiry» as I was told to begin with. So, I asked to speak to a supervisor and she wanted to know why?
Step 5.
Spoke to a supervisor and I informed her of my concerns with the inconsistencies regarding the representatives and the information they gave their future customers; she lacked sincerity. I phoned Time Warner Cable on ⁹⁄₂₃ and informed this impassionate supervisor my «whole» ordeal. I even informed her that my credit score dropped just twelve points due to the little error that will last me two years and no apology.
Step 6.
I cancelled the whole thing! If I cannot receive quality customer service BEFORE I become a member of Time Warner Cable, then how am I going to be treated as an actual member?

Time Warner for 5 months, it’s been out 4 times now and today it’s going on 4 days with the damn DVR box NOT WORKING, but they can be here on Friday from 8am to 5pm (gee thanks asses!)
Not only will I not have cable for a week, but they’ll charge me for it AND I get to lose wages while sitting here waiting for them — unless I want to unhook all this crap again and haul it all downtown, stand in line at the service counter while contemplating «are the roaches from the last guy the NEW ‘used’ BOX called home going to invade my ‘bug free’ home

my dvr isn’t recording, there’s 16 hours of movies on there to watch but can’t access it — — FORCED to keep these rotten, wallet draining freaks with no idea of what customer service is BECAUSE it’s the ‘bulk rate’ my apartment complex uses.
Evidently those that make the decisions have AT&T U-​verse and are not stuck with this HORRID company!
Thank goodness for internet TV, although I’m still missing current airings of America’s Got Talent, and can’t find full episodes of Criminal Minds… grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Worst cable TV and especially Internet service I have ever experienced. Consistently slow internet connections… sometimes I’ve done speed tests where it’s been LESS than 1 Mbps! Upload speed is always bad but the download speeds are never consistent and always cutting out. I have to unplug and restart my modem several times a week.
The TV service is stuck in the dark ages. They only have about 30 HD channels and that includes the premium channels! It’s 2009! Most competitors like Dish, DirecTV, Verizon and AT&T all have 100+ HD channels! That’s embarrassing!
The user interface is the equivalent to Atari compared to XBox, its so cheap looking and hard to navigate. My 5 year old Tivo is still WAY better than the DVR you get with TWC but I don’t want to have to buy an HD Tivo. It takes a minimum of 8 clicks to make it to the on demand section and from then there isn’t an option to search all movies available. There are categories and one is movies from A-​Z but that doesn’t include movies on premium On Demand channels like HBO.
The DVR doesn’t hold very much space especially if you are lucky to find a program in HD!
Customer service is terrible and very rude. They never take the blame for all the poor service issues they make you feel like you did something wrong! The tech’s are the same way. One guy that came out to fix my modem that was unable to receive a ping from TWC blamed my company laptop for not being able to connect because he said everything is working fine from the device he was using to test it. Then I pulled out 4 other non company laptops, two of them macs, 1 hp, and 1 dell and he miraculously found out there was a problem with the modem.
He was going to leave when he thought it was my company laptop!
I can’t get anything else now but hopefully soon I’ll be able to get Verizon Fios. I’ve heard ok things about it but I’ll never be able to get AT&T UVerse which I’d prefer but I live in a Verizon territory.
Don’t get Time Warner they are awful!!!

If I didn’t HAVE to use them, I wouldn’t be.
The biggest pet peeve I have is that they never can set an appointment up at an exact time, and any time I have had a problem, I have had to completely juggle my schedule to get it fixed. It always took at least 5 or 6 days to get an actual tech to come out.
We moved into a new house in December 2008, and we had to have 5 (!) different technicians come out to actually have them figure out that there was a problem where our cable connected to the pole…
It took until mid-​January to actually have internet that works.
Since I own a business where my telephone is a Vonage phone, I was without my business line for an entire month. I probably lost thousands of dollars because of this fact.
I also do web development/​design and I lost a client I have worked with for 3 years because I was unable to finish my projects in a timely manner because we did not have internet.
What did TW cable do about this? Gave us an $ 8ish credit to our account.
