3.5 Stars! Marzipan Princess Cake and Plum Cake! Made fresh daily, the Princess Cake is fluffy and filled with marzipan. The plum cake is AOK. This market has seen better days but is filled with German and other European products. The market also has a cheese and meat counter that includes specialty products including blutwurst. There are a few Germans working here and several patrons but I’m afraid to say the best foods of the German culture may not be found here. The shop has mostly packaged foods. The bakery may be the highlight with the various breads and treats. Parking is at the Old World Village. This used to be a German shopping mall that has many vacant shops and non German villages. Overall, AOK and I am a fan of the Princess Cake.

Roseanna was absolutely a delight! From the first step to the last bite, we could not be happier! When we first met with her she offered us a tray of sample cakes, filling and frostings. When we couldn’t decide between two of them, she suggested that we combine them, and when we did OHMY! it was absolutely great! We had a white cake with raspberry mousse and white buttercream icing. Everyone loved the cake as did we!

So apparently no one actually works there at night? I stood at the counter for a solid 10 minutes & even called out«is anyone here?» multiple times. I finally just left what I had picked out by the cash register. Why keep the doors open if you’re not actually there? A giant waste of time.

We contacted Roseanna and met with her for our wedding cake tasting. There were a lot of options and they all tasted great. We chose white cake, with white butter cream frosting and strawberry mouse filling… It was fantastic. We did not keep the top layer, instead we are ordering one fresh for our first anniversary because I don’t want to be disappointed since I know how good it was.

Our wedding cake was amazing! Roseanna was kind, friendly and helpful. She created the cake of our dreams together with her husband. It is simple 4-tier white cake that was soooo delicious! Originally, we were leaning towards a fondant cake for the smooth look, but she convinced us that the frosting would look just as smooth and taste a lot better. It would also cost much less! The cake was priced really well, much cheaper than all the bakeries we went to. All of our guests were impressed!

Okay, so we like coming here when we have a hankering for some authentic German food. This is the spot to get your German on. Once you walk in to the Euro Market(It’s not that big) there is a freezer immediately to your left where they have sausages(Hungarian Hurka– the BEST!!!, German Leberkase, blood sausage, etc.) and cheeses. Past that is the deli where there is a wonderful smell! The display case has lots of different types of sausage, bologna and cheeses that create the best smell! Our kids loved seeing the very large tube of bologna(Leberkase). We usually come here for the Hungarian hard sausage(Kolbasz– pronounced kohl-bahs by my wife, who is Hungarian) and the Hungarian Hurka, which is a sausage that is made with pork meat, spices, and rice. It is the BOMB!!! I could eat a whole link by myself, but that does not mean it’s either a good idea or something to be done. After we got the sausages, we walked past the deli where there’s another wonderful smell– the BREAD!!! Jumpin’ Jehosaphat on a Pogo Stick, it smells just sexy there! They have some really good Rye bread there with which we like making a little treat with our sausage. What we do is cut a piece of bread into a 2 inch square, cut a small piece of sausage, and on top of that, place a small piece of bell pepper and BAM– nirvana! The market has other European foods that we like to eat such as their Kinder chocolates and marzipan. My wife saw one yesterday and I thought she was batting .317 for the year. That sucker was huge! They have condiments such as mild cornichons, peppers, and sauerkraut. They also sell glassware, wines, beers, and toiletries from Europe. I love coming here and will continue to do so!!!

Had a craving for some good German Soul food today like Sauerkraut, Leberkase, leberwurst, Fleischsalat, german salami, Tilsiter stinky Cheese and of course a loaf of Authentic German Rye Bread and went straight to Euro Market Bakery & Deli in Huntington Beach! Took it all home and will feast on it for the next few days! You can also get Pretzels, Apple Strudel, and my favorite Black Forest Cake! This has been my favorite German Delicatessen Market for the past 25 years and i hope for many more years! Love to go there because it makes me feel like home and and at times gives me a chance to practice my somewhat rusty German Language before i forget it all together! The Euro Market is actually part of the old World Restaurant and the old world Village famous for its October fest and the Dachshund Races and is owned by the Bishop Family. Lucky me, tonight i had the pleasure to meet Mr. Bishop(the owner of Old World) as i was browsing through the store and he happily agreed to pose for a picture with me! The market place has a first class selection of German wines and Beers and Chocolates and Christmas Calendars! Overall it is a real fun place to visit! Go for a stroll thru the village and enjoy the German mural images on the European style houses. Sadly for me the German village feel has changed a Lot. Little by little the cute German stores and the German flair of the Village is getting lost due to demographic changes. Just hope that Euro Deli is going to be around for as long as i am!

If you’re like me and half ass directions, this place is NOT in Bella Terra. It’s in the Old World Village across the street, so stay to the right if you’re getting off the 405 S. If you don’t know any German or know anything about German food(especially sweets) or have a hard time figuring out what things are by the picture, this will not be an easy place to figure out. I know a little about German food and know a little German, so it wasn’t so bad for me. However, there are some things in there I had no clue about, so I left it alone… the last time I took a chance and bought food that I had no idea what it is, I ended up eating semi-sweet bread that tasted like fish. What? Exactly. Never again. It’s in a cool little«old world» center. Plenty of parking when I went, around 6pm. It was also very dead, so… It has one table, so I wouldn’t advise dining in. They have a few selections of wine, I bought two. I doubt anything is under $ 3 here, besides little individually wrapped sweets. They mainly have sweets, meats, and beer. Some jam, no produce here, little grocery items. If you have an inkling for German cookies, German beer, and German meat, then have at it!

The Deli itself is definitely what any foodie should come in here for. Next would be their bakery because they offer good deals on their pastries. I also like the different bottled beers they have to offer. To be honest, my favorite is the SchofferHoffer. It is a grapefruit hefeweizen beer. Downside only 2.5% alcohol. No worries though more beer selection in stock inside the market. They also have a nice selection of German chocolates. I had the Kinder chocolates and they are light and not too sweet. I wish I took a picture of it but I devoured it immediately due to it melting from this ridiculous heat that we had been experiencing this month. The staff working the market are all very nice and willing to help you with any weird question you may have about the food or canned/jarred refrigerated thinga-ma-jig. My wife and I will be back to visit the market again when we return for more Old World Village visits.

My husband and I ordered our wedding cake from here a year ago and it was so beautiful and delicious not to mention Roseanna was such a pleasure to work with so naturally when our anniversary was coming up we decided to email her again to see if she would be so kind to make us an anniversary cake to take with us on our vacation, she emailed me back the same day and said she would be more than happy to make it for us. She made it look just like our wedding cake, it brought back so many memories for us. It was beautiful and tasted just like it had on our wedding day a year ago. If your thinking of getting your wedding cake from here think no more! This is definitely the place to go!

The real star here is the deli. The bakery looked okay, though I didn’t try anything this time. The grocery was interesting, but being a regular at other ethnic groceries, there wasn’t anything that was super unique, and most of what they had is cheaper from other shops that import their items. The deli though — you NEED the German buttercheese. Seriously, one of the creamiest, mild cheeses I have ever had — absolutely amazing! AND I have never seen it anywhere else, which is usually an indication that it’s special. All the cheeses I sampled were delicious, and I would definitely try more next time. If you are into meats and sausages, they looked great too(though again, I didn’t try any.) Overall, I would come here for the deli and fresh foods, but when it comes to packaged imports, I might try elsewhere if you are looking for a deal. Also, parking is convenient — there is a free lot, guarded by security, so you don’t have to fight to find a street spot.

This is a very cool tiny little German deli, bakery and grocery store. They have everything you can imagine from butter, to coffee to apple cakes and of course streusel(apricot and apple). There is also an abundance of German beers, liquor and delicious Ring Bologna. I love a rich, bold coffee and they carry a great one called Jacobs-Kronung. Very full bodied with a slight bitterness on the finish. This place is kind of a hidden secret tucked away in Huntington Beach. It’s been awhile since I have been here, but will definitely have to make it more of a habit to stop in and enjoy all of what the little Euro Deli offers up.

Well, other than the humpa-pa music, the restaurant is nice the meal was good, the beer better! Wenigstens mussten wir nicht Heino über uns ergehen lassen müssen! The little store is nice, got my Ritter Sport chocolate, a few brezeln and some Hagebutten Marmelade! Nom nom nom! I shall return!

This Is my morning wake up spot. Lots of local made pastries. I like their German coffee brew. Without that coffee my day goes sluggish! Very friendly staff.

Favorite bauernbrot around and love the selection of deli meats. The blonde German lady who works here is always so friendly and nice, but really I haven’t ever had bad service here. I only wish they employed more Germans, so they can answer questions about the products they sell. This is a regular stop for me. The village it is in is so charming. I’m surprised it doesn’t get more traffic. It’s always a ghost town, except for the market. If you haven’t already, check this out! If you are looking for good German food, I highly recommend.

My rating is for today’s service only. I usually come to this location once a week on Saturday’s. Saturday’s service is always great. This week was the first time I went on a weekday(Tuesday). I ordered 20 Brotechen and she wrapped them in a trash-bag. I always get them in the regular plastic bag that fits 5. No she pulled out a giant trash-bag which i thought was odd. When it was time to pay she try to charge me for $ 70 for some Broetchen and some small items. I had to point out out to her that she is overcharging me and that I observed her charging me $ 26 for 20 Broetchen. She canceled the 1st transaction and re-keyed the transaction a second time this time she overcharged me for the Kaisers which are 30 cents she tried to charge me 75 cents. I pointed out that she overcharged me so she cleared the transaction a second time and charged me wrong price again this time 40 cents. I pointed out that she overcharged me that they are 30 cents not 40 and instate of apologized she gave me attitude and told me you told me 40 cents. Due to time restrains I just paid. I understand that new Team Members might don’t retain pricing. What brought me to write this review was the nasty attitude. She also failed to charge me for the paper-bag which could result in a nasty fine for the store if caught.

OK, so it’s labor day weekend and since I skipped the end of the month breakfast outing with my son last weekend, I decided to go this weekend instead. The last place, he chose, so this time it was my turn. I chose Old World German Restaurant. Well, we actually ate in the deli section at one of the four tables set up there. They have self-service hot tea and coffee, and their breakfast menu is quite simple but just right and the prices were great. I had breakfast plate #4 with ham and 2 eggs, your choice of fried potatoes or hash browns and that comes with toast. He drank orange juice for $ 1.50, my hot tea was $ 1.00. The entire check was $ 16? Are you kidding me? That breakfast was GREAT! Afterwards, we checked out the groceries for sale. I have never seen so many different kinds of Haribo in sale in one place — that was cool. And the beers and mustards section were interesting to me as well. And this place is #1 for spatzel in Orange County.

I love this market and shop here often. It’s overpriced, it’s tiny, the service is hit or miss but from the moment the brass bell rings when you open the front door it just screams charm and transports you into some tiny Village’s market(Old World Village to be precise). There’s basically three distinct sections to this store. First there’s the shelves of German groceries such as sauces, candies, Haribo gummy candies, chocolates, cookies, wine, beer, spirits, noodles, coffee, imported specialty goods, an entire row of pickled products, and some health & beauty products. Next you have the Deli which has Authentic German sausages, deli meats, cheeses, sauerkraut, potato salad, cucumber, salad, smoked pork chops, dried meats hanging off of racks. There will be signs listing oven ready entrees that they get from the back such as rouladen, sauerbraten, and leberkaese. Even potato pancake mix ready to be fried up. There’s a fridge with prepackaged packs of a lot of their meats, different herring mixtures, dairy items such as amazing herbed butter, and other stuff. There’s also a freezer with different things including sausages from Mattern Meats in Orange. The dried sausages hanging on racks in the back of the deli are really tasty dipped in hot German mustard! Last section is the bakery with some fantastic goods. Fresh baked Bavarian style pretzels are out of this world and get snatched up fast and almost impossible to get on the weekend… fear not though, just call and they’ll hold some for you. Delicious custard filled pastries, plum danishes, fresh baked bread, and great cakes. Service is funny here… you’ll either get somebody super friendly and sweet or stern and rude to the point where it somehow becomes charming. These are direct quotes below Examples: Chris: I’d like some smoked Bratwurst please. Fräulein: No… we have fresh Nuremberg sausage… you have that. Chris: Um… but I really want some Bratwurst. Fräulein: No… Nuremberg really good and fresh, you have that Chris: Fine!(Ended up being one of my favorite sausages, she was right!) Chris: Do you have any precooked potato pancakes? Fräulein: No… we have ready to cook mix. Chris: But I don’t want to cook them, I just want to reheat them. Fräulein: YOUTAKEMIX, YOUSPOONITOUTONTOPAN, IT’S COOKED! YOUCAN’T DOTHIS!!! Chris: *sigh* Fine… I’ll take the mix.(Again… she was right! Great stuff!) Anyways… I love this market. It’s expensive but screw it, I’ll be coming here as long as they’re open. There’s a few tables too if you want to order a fresh made sandwich from the deli. I think they serve some stuff from the restaurant next door too.
