Service is amazing, food takes awhile to come out, drinks are great but overall it’s a tad over rated.

Sooo good! Great service, great food! My husband had the steak and eggs special that came with roasted potatoes, sautéed tomatoes and mushrooms. It was so flavorful and had a nice Italian flavor twist on your traditional steak and eggs. I had the French toast combo with roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs and bacon. The French toast came with a lemon mascarpone cream that really took it to another level. It’s a small spot so not really good for large groups. But a great place for a group of 2 to 4.

Was on a trip to Cali, am not local. Originally a long wait, but host got us into bar seating within 15 min. Host talked with us during wait. Quick service at bar, from funny barista imitating Sicilian accent. Treated everyone in Café with same hospitality. Got«Café Caldo Late» which was And the Sicilian Breakfast which was… Mm. I cleaned the plate. After food we met the chef, he serves lots of locals so he likes meeting new faces. Hope this helps.

Went early morning on a Sunday and didn’t have to wait. Soooo good! If we lived here we’d come all the time. Most of the customers seemed to be regulars that the staff greeted by name. I had the veggie frittata but added bacon. It was HUGE but I couldn’t stop eating. My boyfriend had the ham wrapped asparagus with perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise. All the food was A+++++++ We had delicious strong iced coffee for pur drinks. Cute casual ambiance. Ample parking. Love this place!

I’m not a breakfast person but Caldo changed me. The food is so great. The crepes and meatballs for breakfast are just awesome. The french toast is the perfect texture. The Italian pastries are just like Italy. I’ve brought two breakfast and Italian pastry experts here and they both loved it. It’s always packed so try to go at an odd time to beat the crowds. The owner is a great guy and gives it his best shot to make sure the food is great and the customers are happy. A hidden local gem.

This place is official! My wife and I love breakfast and we’re always on the hunt for the best coffee and breakfast. This place was highly reviews and highly rated on Unilocal.Caldo did not disappoint. We both go vanilla lattes and the Caldo combo — they both were amazing. The coffee is on point here. Way better than that Starbucks trash!

Food was fantastic! Seating is quite limited though which made it a little uncomfortable. There were 3 of us on a tabletop meant for 2 people. But I was happy as soon as the food came! And the my latté.awesome!

Met up with a friend to have our weekly brunch and catchup date here at this cute little café. The place is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, and we had to wait 15 minutes for our table since they filled up around 10am on a Friday. I got the Caffe Caldo latte and my friend got the Zebra latte. We also shared a bombolini and their eggs benedict. The bombolini was like a donut hole filled with ricotta and chocolate chips. They warmed it up and it was pretty tasty. We had to wait a long time for our benedict, but the staff was really friendly and checked up on us a couple of times. The benedict was different than other places because they used ciabatta bread and a cheese sauce on top. It was good but I probably wouldn’t get it again. Overall, it’s a cute place to chat and catch up over coffee.

I came for breakfast with a gf and the restaurant was a lot smaller than expected. It’s a little café, pretty close to the beach and we only had to wait a few minutes before getting a table. We both had a latte to start and a bombolini. It’s a ricotta chocolate chip filled doughnut hole. Then We shared the Benedict with a side of potatoes. It took a pretty long time to get our food out, but the waitress apologized and explained that the kitchen is really small. When our food came out, it was delicious. I really liked the Benedict and the hollandaise sauce. Also, the potatoes were yummy! We hung out there for a while to chit chat, and the owner came over and talked to us. He said he liked that we were catching up over some coffee and didn’t rush us. Overall, a cute coffee shop and I recommend the Benedict. Also their french toast looked really good!

Saturdays can get busy and in the back there are tables where you can enjoy the cute Milan themed interior design. The breakfast here are hands down YUMMY. 4 of us all shared 2 Benedict and 1 Kale salad(specials) We all enjoyed our Lattes and each of our lattes had its own cute designs.

I came here with some friends for brunch. There is ample parking as the place is in a rather large supermarket kind of square. I ended up ordering something I saw on Unilocal, but I found out wasn’t on the menu. I got the Benedict Ciabatta with Salmon, which I believe was just the regular Benedict Ciabatta except they replace it with the Salmon. The Salmon was delicious, and I really enjoyed the creamy taste of the sauce on top of the eggs benedict. The potatoes were also pretty good. Overall a good choice and an enjoyable experience.

Excellent all around! We waited about 20 minutes for a table on a Sunday morning. The lovely person taking names at the front door was helpful, kind and apologetic about the wait. In about 15 minutes we were seated and were greeted with smiles all around. Our waitress, Lexie, was glowing, helpful and so sweet with my six-year old daughter. My daughter had a hot cocoa, which she thoroughly enjoyed, as well as the mixed berry crepes and a side of one sunny side up egg. She had nothing but compliments. I ordered the special– poached eggs over kale massaged in truffle oil, butternut squash and roasted potatoes. It was delicious! I also ordered the Turkish latte… A latte with cardamom and honey(along with an extra espresso shot… Making it three… I was tired!) It was delicious and not too sweet. The prices were fair and the service, food, and coffee were excellent. We will definitely be back.

Stumbled by this place when I was checking out the aquarium store in the plaza. First appearance, I thought it was just a coffee shop, but as I entered, you can see coffee in the front and food in the(small) back. The decoration is quite eclectic and the employees are super friendly. What really is cool about this place is that the Rasta chef(owner) actually likes to see his customers and receive feedback. To do this… all you have to do is walk a couple feet down the hall and the chefs is right there creating your masterpiece. Our server even encouraged us to say Hello. I ordered the eggs benefit, swapped the ham with smoked salmon. Eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce wasn’t overly powered with lemon. The French toast our server recommended was really good — crunchy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside. How do they do that?! Their coffee is rich and doesn’t have that gnarly bitter bite. Great espresso. Thumbs up to this breakfast spot — lunch menu looks mouthwatering too.

This was the best breakfast I’ve ever had in HB. Aldo did a great job hosting & interacting with customers. I had the kale breakfast special. The flavors were delicious! I tried a bite of my friends crepes & they were good. The french toast is a must try! I also took a cannoli & bread pudding to go. Those were both yummy. I am always looking for a great cannoli. This one was second to my grandma’s homemade ones. Great food & great service! I will definitely be back!

This place is absolutely amazing! It’s charming, creative, delicious and, most importantly, memorable. A friend of mine was visiting from the bay and had never been to oc. She also requested a place for breakfast that had a good atmosphere/décor. Café Caldo did not disappoint! Everything here was great from the host to the coffee to the dishes to the chocolates and roses. The host was very friendly and attentive. He gave excellent recommendations and gracefully dealt with my sass. Everyone at the restaurant seem to enjoy their jobs and it reflected in their awesome service! My friend and I, for our morning drinks, we ordered the regular latte and the black Irish latte and, for our breakfast, we ordered the smoked salmon dish and the kale butternut squash special. They were both super delicious! I really wish I had more space in my stomach to try their desserts. The decorations of this restaurant was very cute. It had a slight European and«inventive» feel with the stools with the bicycle stems, the string of lights hung on the ceiling, the ceiling light fans being turned by a pulley system… the only downsides to this place are that’s it’s relativity and not in L.A. I’ll definitely be making my way down here again. Hopefully sooner than later.

Came here for brunch with my cousin who raves about this place’s coffee and food, and was definitely NOT disappointed at all. First off, exceptional customer service! The café is a quaint joint, with adorable interior design, so most of the seats were filled up by the time we arrived at around 11. Our server was extremely accommodating and explained the menu to us in great detail. Plus, the manager who is familiar with my cousin gladly checked up on us throughout our entire meal. I had the House Made Crepes with berries and these are truly AMAZING. The thick dollop of whipped cream really soothed the stark sweetness of the berries, and I love how the berries’ juiciness softened the crêpe. Tried my cousin’s caramelized banana crêpe and these were equally delicious. Also had a bite of the french toast and I have to say that my french toast experience would never be the same again. It was the perfect amount of crunchiness and sweetness — no syrup needed! Last comment is about their lattes. I’m not a consistent coffee/latte drinker but the Caldo Latte really makes me want to get more into the coffee culture. Overall, I loved every aspect of this cute little café joint, and I cannot wait to come back!
