I can’t believe I haven’t been to this gem before. My best friend and I went out today for her birthday lunch. I told her to pick the place and she brought me here. The menu is healthy which is a plus. Prices aren’t too bad. I had the portobello wrap and it was DELICIOUS!!! It came with a nice pasta salad. My friend got the sweet potato quesadillas which looked delicious. I will have to try that next time. I will most definitely be going back.

Delicious! It looks like a hole in the wall in its strip mall location but my boyfriend and I enjoyed having lunch here today. We shared a bowl of the vegetarian chili which was very good! It was a really nice portion for both of us to split and quite filling on its own. Great flavors with lots of chickpeas, kidney beans, and quinoa. Definitely recommend trying it. I ordered the beet salad which was a really nice choice. It was a huge salad with slices of red beets, arugala, goat cheese, crushed pistachios, grapefruit segments, balsamic vinaigrette, and I had mine with grilled chicken on top. It was so filling that I only ended up eating half of it and I’ll have the other half for dinner. I thought there was a good amount of beets, pistachios, grapefruit, and goat cheese mixed in. The grapefruit was a really delicious touch. My boyfriend ordered the raw salad and really didn’t enjoy it — hence the 4 start rating. He described it as tasting bland and there wasn’t anything interesting in it to add texture, like crunchy nuts or seeds. Next time he will try the Thai peanut salad. We split the«chocolate bomb» dessert for only $ 2, which I thought was a great deal. It’s hard to describe what exactly the chocolate bomb is, but it was like an amorphous mix between a chocolate cookie and a brownie with walnuts and gooey chocolate chips inside. DELICIOUS! We loved splitting this dessert and it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. The edges were a little crunchy and the thicker middle part was softer. Really great! Looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu.

This has been a favorite for years, until recently. I ordered the hot kale salad and brought it for lunch at work. When I began eating I found a ladybug in my salad. It was dead, possibly killed by the heating of the kale. Regardless, when I called to tell them the girl who answered the phone was downright rude. Paying $ 14 for a salad and having a bug in it merits more than a paltry«oh, sorry». Customer service involves making the person on the other end of the phone feel heard and valued as a customer. I should’ve been given at the very leasssst: a sincere apology. Maybe a store credit? Something to reconcile? Anything?

Hands down the one of the best places to eat in the area. The staff is great and the food is even better. I’ve been there numerous times and always try something new. I’ve had their falafel, sweet potato quesadilla, portobello mushroom wrap, and their butternut squash soup. It’s fresh, delicious, healthy food. What more could you ask for?!

stopped in for lunch recently — the food is VERY fresh(had the California turkey wrap) but the big winner was the veggie chili… Delicious! Next time I go back I’m getting the big bowl!!!

Terrific food! I loved the hot kale! I’m not vegetarian but you can add chicken to a lot of the dishes.

I love love love Allways Café. I have been a customer for about eight years. Their food is incredibly fresh, healthy and wholesome. My favorites are the Sweet Potato Quesadilla, Jerk Chicken Salad, and the Falafel. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. They sell a lot of local arts and crafts. I have to say I am disappointed that they have removed some really good items off of their menu! Their chocolate bombs are also delicious for dessert as well.

Ok — having read the reviews I was expecting more. I went in and got a take-out felafal salad platter. It wasn’t amazing, actually it was kinda tasteless. Both the salad and felafal balls were underwhelming. The felafal was well– cooked, the veggies were crisp, but the dressing didn’t bring together the flavors — or at least the flavors I had hoped for. It was wholsome, but underwhelming.

This is a cute little place tucked away in a strip mall off Welsh Rd. They’re not strictly vegetarian, but they have a lot of vegetarian options. Everything is quite delicious, and the ingredients taste quite fresh. The portions are a little on the large side. The service is excellent.

This is one of my favorite places ever! Pretty much everything I’ve ever tried here is fantastic. My favorites are the hot kale, sweet potato quesadilla, and jerk chicken salad. I also really like the tuna melt, hummus, portobello mushroom sandwich, quiche, and the original turkey wrap. The portions are huge, and the food is always fresh! I just wish they had longer hours, and I wish they hadn’t stopped making the paninis. I dream about that brie panini! Oh and the desserts are great too! Try a chocolate bomb or the key like pie!

So far, I’ve only had one experience with The Allways Café, and I must say that it was just… alright. After reading numerous reviews on Unilocal I ordered the sweet potato quesadilla, and it was ok… Just not something to swarm over. The crust was nice and crispy, but the flavor didn’t surprise me. Sweet potatoes are inherently delicate and sweet, but with the added ingredients(pumpkin seeds, green onions, etc) it felt like something was off; that the combination didn’t accentuate the individual ingredients to create a comprehensive whole, just mushed them all together in an overly salted, flavored quesadilla. It was too heavily spiced with oregano, and I had more bites of some sort of husk than pumpkin seeds. I was hoping that they could play off the sweet and delicate nature of the sweet potatoes, not over play them. Overall, I think the menu doesn’t have enough interesting options; it just seems like basic fare for a vegetarian restaurant, and it was much too expensive for what they were offering.

For my first time here I am thrilled! I went after reading amazing the reviews. 6:30pm I’m walking up and it seems the owner is locking up, he says we are closed. Right away I’m devastated, I explain to him it’s okay and I’ll try some other time, he asked what I wanted so I said the raw salad– he asks if I like mangos and I said yes? He then tells me to wait and 5 minutes later he brings me out the salad and tells me to check them out again soon. What an awesome place! Did I mention how amazingly delicious this salad is?!? Definitely no shortage on toppings either! Every bite just amazing

Many people nowadays are clammerin’ for a new hip vegetarian place, and Allways Café certainly fills that bill. I am not one of those people. Nonetheless, Allways has won me over showing that even healthy food can be(occasionally) delicious. You order at the counter, they give you a number, you get seated, and they’ll bring food straight to you. During lunch it can get crowded; my group of 3 had to stand by a bit for a table open up, but the food took 10 or so minutes to prepare so by the time it was ready we’d found seating. As for the food, this is what we got: Blackened Tofu(5⁄10): My least favorite of the dishes. A few pieces of sliced tofu panseared with spices, along with green beans, spinach, and a diced mango salsa. The tofu was overly salty and otherwise not flavored particularly well, and there was nothing outstanding about the other greens on the dish. Jerk Chicken Salad(8.5÷10): Mixed Greens Salad topped with pieces of jerk chicken along with a mango sauce on the side. The chicken was actually diced and finely seasoned with an appropriate balance of mayo that made it creamy but not overwhelmingly so, and the mango sauce/dressing that accompanied… I could have poured that on everything. If I had any complaints I guess I would ask for a spicier chicken(but again I like my food hot), and a larger portion size Sweet Potato Quesadilla(9⁄10): This was delicious, and probably one of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever had. The Tortilla itself was thin but crispy, and yet still loaded with a mixture of sweet potatoes, spinach, cheese, that blended perfectly. Large portion too, and yet with every bite I was craving more. Highly Recommended. They also serve some other meat dishes as well, typically featuring chicken or fish(no red meat if i remember correctly), and I can imagine they pull those off without a hitch as well. I’ve heard many good things about the sandwiches and wraps, and the portobello sandwich is next on my list for the return trip. Or I may just go for the sweet potato quesadilla again…

I love it here. A fantastic option in an area that to me isn’t very vegan friendly. It’s always a good choice for lunch with girlfriends. I usually get the hot kale in coconut curry. I crave this dish. A lot!!! It’s amazing. It’s a little soupy for some people. I usually get some peanuts for a crunch on top. I alternate between that and the raw salad. I ask for crushed red pepper to add a kick. Oh so delish!!! Fresh, crunchy, perfectly dressed. Yum! I used to get the sweet potato quesadilla before I went vegan which was also super yum! I really feel you can’t go wrong here. Everything is so good!!! So, so good!!! Really decent portions. I always have leftovers. A breath of fresh air for this neighborhood for sure! They are famous for their«chocolate bombs». They aren’t vegan but I do think they make a batch that are gluten free. My hubs always appreciates when I bring them home for him. I smell them and fall in love. If only they could make them vegan, I would give this place another star haha *I think it was the owner, a nice gentleman in workout clothes who came over to our table and brought my little girls fresh fruit bowl yesterday. So sweet! * I love that they support local artist and I’m Loving their new chalkboard menu!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious. The first time we went here, we got a sweet potato quesadilla that was great. Now my go-to dish is the Hot Kale. It just makes you feel good all over eating it. I usually take half of it home. The kids love splitting the hummus appetizer. The interior is nothing all that spectacular — just a dozen tables in café-style seating. It can take a little waiting to get a seat during peak times.(We got there just as a table was clearing, but a pair after us had to wait 5 – 10 minutes for a table to clear.) But the food is just superb.

I drove by this place for years and was too scared to eat there. The strip mall is very outdated, and looks like it belongs in another country. My husband forced me to give it a try because of the reviews. Well, the food is outstanding. Healthy, good portions, and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only downside is that the décor needs a major overhaul. The chairs are from a old banquet hall, and my ass was killing me after diner. The glass tables are gross too. Should be a natural wood. Takeout next time.
