I hate that they changed the playground to a 5 – 12 year old play park with the rope walks and a dangerous open sided climbing tower. They’ve completely removed the old play sets. I’ve been bringing my 3 year old here for the last couple years and now it offers nothing to his age group. Why not offer something for the little kids instead of taking it away from them completely.

Well maintained. There is a volleyball area which is so cool to watch families/teams sending the ball back and forth. As you follow the road, you pass by a playground section. My favorite spot is around the landing area where the picnic tables are spread out. There is the North Carolina Community Sailing that offers lessons for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and rowing. Can also purchase a pass to use their equipment. Looking forward to warmer weather. Love to get one of those passes.

Pleasant Spot for a Picnic. It’s really a beautiful spot with a lot of aminities for everyone. Several different recreational areas serving both the young and the old. They also offer an area where newbies can learn to sail. The pavilion extending out into the water is really nice and affords a great view.

This is a very well engineered place to put your boat in the water. There’s plenty of parking for cars and trailers. The ramps are kept nicely and are laid out for a quick and efficient put-in. There is a clean public bathroom, tables in the shade and benches in the sun for sitting out of the way while your party puts in or takes out. All around great experience. There is a fee on busy weekends but it’s less for Mecklenburg County residents and well worth the nominal price either way.
