On a very busy week end night, the HMB was, unfortunately, understaffed but the wait staff that WAS there working, were working REALLY hard, and trying to be as engaging and friendly as possible and I give them respect and credit for that. Our food was so-so; the butternut squash soup, although thick and filling, was overly sweet with brown sugar and honey, and the black bean burger was overdone. We did like the chipotle aioli sauce that accompanied it. We loved the woodsy, Craftsman style feel to the restaurant itself, the pine benches in front of the large, river rock fireplace, the cool lighting and seating choices. The manager didn’t seem too helpful on the floor because, while the rest of the staff scurried everywhere, he spent an AWFUL lot of time hanging out at just one table, talking(and talking) with the diners at that table, rather than fully helping his short staff. There is a full bar, lots of bottled and tap beers, and meals can be had there. Prices could be lower, especially if the HMB expects ANY locals to come here and help to keep it in business in the slower seasons, and we look forward to the hiring of a brew master, so this can become a full-fledged brewery, and help the Hunter area.

Went there again as last time we had been there in the fall.. It was fabulous. Under new management. Mike from Tequillas at the helm. Brings back old memories. good food, good drinks. We will be back!

They need to start serving their own beer and open earlier especially when the mountain has events or people are there. Im all for supporting this place to keep it open but not at the expense of ruining my night and wsting 2 or 3 hours to wait for food and drinks when you can drive 5 min to last chance.

Berta the bartender is the absolute best. She offers great suggestions and can make amazing drinks. Food is also really good. Only issue is that it’s not a brewery as others have said. However, nice, new, clean.. Seriously, it’s Hunter, enjoy this place while it’s still around and keep going or it won’t be around.

So where do I start. Let’s start by saying that my wife and I are from the city and eat out at least 4 nights a week. We have a house in the area and I will also add that I have found some incredible restaurants in Greene county. As far as this one… New management needs to move on!!! Walked in to a wait which is expected bar tender didn’t even lift his head and about a half hour later he wrote down our order. 15 minutes later asked«can I help you ???» Wow !! Finally sat down in which the girl who sat us(running around like a chicken without a head) said even though she is sitting us it would be a while. By the way restaurant ran out of the app we wanted and 3 entrees!!! On a Saturday? Just to state how bad the experience was, we received a call that 2 more were joining us so we added to our order. Well if you could imaging there food came out 26 minutes before ours that was ordered 32 minutes prior. They ran out of meatloaf so put a burger on a plate with gravy!!! Staff was stressed out but not there fault !!! Poor horrible management !!! By the way I am also in the restaurant business. First post ever and never will again! Can’t even find it to give them a star. Poor waitress was almost crying ohh and the brewery ran out of 2 types of beer

Third time. still no beer brewed here. Bartender is rude and inefficient, on her phone, chiding the rest of the staff. After first round, hard to get her attention, despite letting her know we intended to order dinner and the almost empty bar on a weekday evening. Finally get menus, order food. The food is OK. another round of drinks. Once we let her know we will not have anything else, we are ignored. no check.she disappears. this has happened each time. at least 20 min to get check and get out. Not sure we will be back unless desperate. would rather drive to Windham for an excellent burger and brew with friendly service at Cave Mountain…

This place only comes up under breweries. Needs to also get restaurant designation. The exterior is very nice with poor signage. There’s still a banner up where the sign should be and I think they’ve been open for quite a few months now. An enticing sign with proper lighting would likely help get new visitors. The bones of the place are good but there is no real identity to it. It looks like they started building an outer vestibule to stop the cold air from pouring in when the door is open but it never got completed. Cold customers will soon = no customers. Food is decent. There is no kids menu which in my mind is a mistake in this area. Service was fair. The place could be a home run with good music playing and some décor that helps the place look«complete». Right now it looks«almost done». Best of luck to the owners — we need more good places up here. Take the final steps to make this a lasting establishment please!

Um. What am I missing? We drive by and see the sign for Hunter Mountain Brewery. I pull in and I see its not too crowded. My wife takes a seat and our small table is a log! very cool looking furnishings at the Hunter Mountain Brewery. I want to have a glass of their brewed beer, where is it? I see about twenty taps, Stella, Sam Adams, where is the Hunter Mountain Brewery beer? I ordered a glass of wine for my wife, a beer for myself and bootskooted. Hunter Mountain Brewery? I suggest brewing some beer or change your sign. Deuces!

I also had problems with service. Visited on a Saturday night with my family, and sat for twenty minutes without any waiter or waitress so much as stopping by to acknowledge us. Some tables were being served, and others, like ours, were being totally forgotten by everybody except the busboy, who was keeping water glasses filled. When I asked him to send over our server, it provoked a huddled conference with the host, but still no one came over. After another five minutes with no sign of a server, we left. I had been excited when I saw this restaurant opening in view of the limited options in the immediate vicinity of Hunter Mountain, but I won’t be trying it again. Very disappointed.

I was hoping to try their own beer, but they had none. Huh? Aren’t you a brewery? The reason for the two stars is because the service is absolutely horrible. It’s definitely a great location, and I would assume they’ll hire more people once the winter season comes at Hunter MT. The ambiance is nice. I think they are still working out the kinks. Will return and hopefully I can change my review.

Potentially this could be a great place, but it’s not. With any luck… Menu is interesting; interior is pleasant. At 2PM on a Saturday, it took over an hour to order and receive a burger and a steak. Menu print font will require 20⁄20 vision and a light source. Other patrons this day were quite rude, and the shame is that they get away with cutting ahead in waiting area(no host/ess, no inclination by staff to acknowledge arriving customers etc). Staff too busy to check after food is delivered. Cole slaw is easily the worst I’ve ever had. Food otherwise quite enjoyable. Tap beer available but not of note and not their own(brewing room notwithstanding). Difficult to say if I would return.

We love this place, the bartender is fantastic, she is extremely friendly and makes a great drink! If you don’t know what you want, she has various suggestions. We are never disappointed! The food is great as well, we loved the appetizers we got, dinner as well.

This is currently not a brewery… It is a restaurant with some decent beers on tap.

Great location with a lot of potential to be a great eating & drinking spot. The selection of food is interesting & the drink specials & beer on tap are awesome. The service was a little slow, but still very good & there is a young man who keeps the water glasses full who is very attentive. We ate outside, which was lovely looking at Hunter Mountain. I’ll be back!

This is a new establishment so they obviously have some kinks to work out. I ordered a cocktail on the menu that was made with IPA and scotch. It tasted like watered down beer. They took it back graciously and I ordered an iced tea instead, the food was worth the wait. And we did wait, I ordered the fish sandwich and it was very tasty! Don’t stop in if you’re in a rush. If you don’t mind waiting for your food you won’t be disappointed. As for the reviewer who gave one star because they are not able to serve their own beer yet, isn’t that a bit unfair? It’s not their fault and usually these brewpub serve crappy beer anyway LOL.

Unfortunately, there is no house-brewed beer available at this time(early June 2015). Sounds like a lot of legal and administrative issues are behind this. According to the bartender, these issues won’t be settled for a while with house-brewed beer not available till at least August. In the meantime, other taps are available and are pricey. Only looked at the menu and saw NYC prices($ 16 for a lamb burger?). The FB page and their webpage provide little useful information. I’m not sure how this place will do when they have to survive on locals’ business during Fall and Spring. Appears to be only open after 5pm even on weekends but even the days/hours are not clear.
