Tanya accommodated me on short notice as a first time client. She spent three hours with me whipping this mommy back to shape(cut, color, wax, style). One of the best hair cuts I’ve had in a long time… Will definitely be back!

I tagged along with my friend who wanted to get her eyelash extensions refilled. The ambience was nice and welcoming so I decided to get my nails done. Everyone’s really friendly and easy to talk to! Would definitely be back to check out their hair salon.

Very experienced stylists. I have been here several times and they always do an excellent job. They are very attentive and listen to what I’m asking for. I have had cuts, color and styles here and have never been disappointed. I have also had a mani/pedi which was perfect. Very pleasant and clean shop. These gals are the best!

Tanya colored my hair and it looks beautiful!! I asked her to dye it back to my natural color and she was able to figure out the correct shade. Tanya was very friendly and the salon is clean and welcoming. I definitely recommend it!

The staff is super friendly, the salon is very clean and cheerfully decorated, and my haircut is so cute! My stylist even showed me a new technique to style my new cut. I’m very satisfied with my service and would recommend this salon to anyone. Good value too!

Went last-minute to get my eyebrows done. I was nervous because I have experienced the traumatic, overly-thin eyebrow job one too many times. There was very little wait considering I was a walk-in on a weekend, and Tonya was super friendly! Even better still, my eyebrows looked great! I will definitely be returning.

Tonya did a fantastic job straightening and smooth my hair. Not an easy task when you have thick coarse hair. Ver clean salon.

So I am a pretty boring girl when it comes to my hair and I decided to let these ladies give me some pizazz. At FIRST I went in for just a trim. My husband was with me and told me to go for something new for summer so I told my stylist to give me something trendy that would go with my face. I went from long hair to a long bob. At first I was so scared because its a drastic difference for me. But its been 3 days and the compliments I am getting are reaffirming that this is a good cut for me. As far as the salon goes, its clean, and the people are very friendly. They take time and pay attention to detail. I also had them cut my son’s hair while we were there and he was a pistol and they were very patient and put disney jr on the TV for him and gave him some M&Ms. I’ll definitely be back! They seem to offer a lot of different services so I might try a mani/pedi or something next time. I love supporting the family owned and operated business.

I went to Trend5 on the recommendation of a friend after moving to the area. She gets her haircut there. I went to get a Brazilian Wax. I have never bled while having a Brazilian Wax, until this appointment and I get Brazilians every 4 – 6 weeks. I also felt the Brazilian took a bit too long. I’ve never had a Brazilian last longer than 15 minutes. This wax took about 30 minutes. The person who did the wax was very polite and professional and felt bad that I was bleeding. I am sure they are ok, but I just had a bad experience. I don’t believe I’ll be going back.

Ugh. I hate doing this. I was so prepared to give this place a good review. A generous review, even. There aren’t really salons in Hummelstown, especially not family owned ones. And I love my hometown. I wanted to boost their business. But this was just unacceptable. Let me start by saying for my personal experience here, I’d give them one star. Maybe two. But I’m willing to accept the fact that the majority of their business is hair and nails, and I had neither service. I had a Brazilian. I came here thinking they may not be great, but they’d at least be inexpensive and I was home for Thanksgiving and since my waxer books three months out I figured why not. Worst case it’ll last half the time but they’ll probably charge half the price and I’ll be able to support a small business in the process. I’m not going to nitpick here, especially since I really hate bashing family owned businesses, so I’ll keep it short and sweet. My wax cost me $ 65 + $ 10 tip. I noticed later in the day I had bruising, so I returned. They gave me a $ 10 refund. Here are my issues. 1. In Philadelphia, I pay $ 75 only because I tip the absolute shit out of my esthetician because she’s freaking phenomenal. They charge $ 50. 2. I’ve gone to waxers before that have left bruising. Their response? Profuse apologies and full refunds. Bruising means the waxer screwed up. At Trend5, my esthetician tried to convince that it’s totally normal and won’t last more than a few hours. If I had paid, say, $ 40 I wouldn’t have even said anything. If they had admitted their mistake when I returned to the salon this review would have been favorable. Unfortunately they made it pretty obvious that they found the fact that I returned to be a bit of a joke. Fact is, it takes a very skilled esthetician to wax more sensitive parts of the body, and unless you’re a god damn wizard using unicorn blood and phoenix feathers as a hair remover you should not be charging people $ 65. Moral of the story – if you give someone a bruise on their lady parts, don’t charge them for it. It’s common courtesy.

My experience at Trend5 was a disappointment. I asked for a gel manicure and polish change on my toes. The visit started well. I was greeted and given a complimentary bottle of water. I chose a gel color and the staff offered to find a matching shade for my toes. They were very polite. The attendant did not perform a manicure as I had requested and there was no hand massage, she merely changed the polish. She left uneven edges and simply painted over any areas where my nails were peeling. She stated she could fix it at the end, but did not. Both my hands and feet looked extremely messy when I left and I felt I could have done the same job myself. They were ready to charge me the full price for a manicure until I said something. When I got home I realized the polish on my toes did not even match my hands! In their defense, it was hard to tell in the light in the salon, but was it was obvious once I got outside. I then called to complain and was refused a refund. They offered to fix their mistake but I was rudely told they would only give me 10 minutes max. I declined their offer, and needless to say, I will not return and do not recommend this salon. They are overpriced in the first place and not worth the extra cost.

The people were very nice and, as others posted, my polish did stay on. What I was disappointed in was the lack of pampering. I was looking forward to a relaxing massage on both my mani and pedi but it didn’t really exist. I was in and out in less than an hour. I was disappointed after reading such great reviews. Oh, the cost was too high for the low level of pampering.

I was sooo surprised with the customer service! This is a family owned salon and everyone was helpful and courteous from day one! I arrived in time for only one treatment and they offered to go above and beyond that. the place is small but nicely decorated. they have three pedicure chairs that recline and have massagers. they have the cutest bright pink foot bowls and they seem meticulous in cleaning their products. it was a little tough getting in and out of the chairs as there is no foot rest besides the washing bowls… just a small peeve. ;o)) the lady even wore gloves to work on my feet, and repeatedly washed her hands throughout various processes. I ended up getting both a cut and color here. I was really happy considering that i did not go with a photo in hand! While it did take some time and there was negotiations of what i wanted along the way, i was very impressed w/the inverted bob i was given. this salon provided graduated layers that made the cut look cleaner and hold its shape better.(very nicely cut in the back. mucho compliments were given at work the next day). the color(one) was pretty good. disapointed that they werent able to do custom colors and didnt really know what i meant by a chunk of red in the front. They offer walk ins and appts. It’s conveniently located off of the square in hummelstown next to the warwick hotel. I saw their hours online were until 7pm, but if you call they might be open until 8pm. I think the greatest thing was that after a few minutes, i really just felt very relaxed.

Loved the place!!! Let me start by telling you that I am one of those people who google any new place before they try it. I’m not equally good with reviewing the places I try though. But as I found the previous review extremely helpful, and that was the only one I could find for this place, I felt that I owed it to Trend5 that I write 1. I desperately needed a mani and pedi, and called on a Friday eve. I got an appointment for Saturday afternoon. The lady met me at the front desk, and had me wait for less than 2 minutes while she tended to another person. She then asked me to choose a color, of which there was a wide variety, and made suggestions on which shade of red will look the best on me :) She then made sure that I was comfortable in the pedicure chair(which had 16 massage functions, absolutely loved it). She was very friendly, and had a light conversation flowing all the time. She also told me that all I needed was a regular pedicure, based on how my feet looked, and no specialized services were needed. She drew very pretty designs on my toes, all freehand. I got pedicure, with designs made on toes, and shellac for my nails. I paid a total of $ 55 for that. Not the cheapest place in town, but worth all the money. I will definitely be going back.

Today I went in for my very first Brazilian wax. I live in York, and after a salon there put me on hold for more than one minute, I turned to Unilocal for assistance. Trend5 Salon was the spa that was shown when I put in my search criteria. The salon itself is not huge, but things like that do not bother me at all. The ladies working there were EXTREMELY friendly, and very knowledgeable about the products and services they offer. The wax itself was not as painful as I thought it was going to be at all. Of course that has to do with pain tolerance, but it also had to do with the lady explaining the procedure, and telling me what I had to do to make it a less painful experience. The price was even cheaper than the salon in York! I am so happy Unilocal told me about Trend5, and I cannot wait to go back for more services! More than worth the 45 minute drive from York to Hummelstown!
