Virginia Wine Tours

Horrible! You are better off renting a limo and making your own arrangements at various wineries!
List of issues:
1. I booked our event with Virginia Wine Tours for a party of 13 two months in advance. The day before our tour, they tell us that tasting fees are not included in the price we paid! (This was not clearly communicated during the booking process!!) So I asked how much are tasting fees and they just gave me the names of the wineries were scheduled to visit (no phone numbers or prices) and I had to find and call each one individually to check on prices. And one of the wineries didn’t even have us scheduled!
2. The day of the tour — the limo was supposed to meet us at 11 a.m. The driver called just before 11 to tell us he was broken down and was about an hour away. I told him to keep me updated, but to have his boss call me. His boss never called. I was unable to reach anyone at the company.
3. An hour and a half later — the limo arrives. But it was a limo that seated 10 people… we had 13. So we were all jammed in and one person had to sit on the floor.
4. Since we were running over an hour late, I called the first winery to see if they had been made aware of our delay. I discovered that no one had informed them, so I proceeded to call the other two wineries to let them know as a courtesy and for scheduling purposes, that we were late. This is something Virginia Wine Tours should have been doing.
5. After everything, we were only able to visit two of the three wineries and I emailed the company to ask for a partial refund — mainly because they charged us for a 14 person tour, when we actually got the 10 person limo. They offered me a $ 200 gift certificate for their service. I explained I was from out of town and due to the issues we experienced, it was unlikely I would ever use them ever again. I never got a response. I gave them a month to respond, but nothing.
Virginia Wine Country is beautiful and the two wineries we did visit were wonderful. But DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY to book your tour! I’m shocked they are still in business!
