For $ 60/​night, I was expecting the Winchester to be one step above a rent-​by-​the-​hour joint. Shockingly, it turned out to be a really good deal. Yeah, the room styles are dated – it’s all very 70s-​esque. However, the rooms were really clean and very spacious. The bed was insanely comfortable. The front desk staff were super nice. There were copious amounts of hot water in the shower, and the air conditioner worked perfectly. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. My rating is really more like a 3.5, and I’d take it up to a 4 if they sprang for better (and larger) bath towels and better shampoo and soap.

We missed a connecting flight out of Houston, which was all backed up due to weather. At 2 am the Winchester was the only place we could find a room. For an affordable inn ($ 60 a night), this place was great. The guy at the front desk was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable room near the airport.

This place was much nicer than I expected for $ 60 a night near the airport! The staff was so helpful and gave us advice, made our taxi reservation, and made change so we could use the washer and dryer to wash the only outfit we had when we were stranded in Houston after missing a flight. They put out cereal and granola bars for breakfast and our room had a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave! There are places to eat nearby that also deliver, and the king bed is really comfortable. This was our only positive experience in Houston, besides our Über driver, and I’m glad we found them.

I am spending the night here and I can not complain at all. Not sure what ppl expect for a room next to the airport for 60 $ but mine is clean, has a fridge, well working AC and a coffeemaker. The staff is very friendly and even gave me a call once they received my last minute reservation to check on me if I can make it since I was running late

The staff is AWFUL! I called to see how old I needed to be to check in and he refused to answer my question. He told me that there were no rooms available for tonight in response. 2 minutes later I was able to book a room on Priceline without a hassle. So he clearly lied and when I confronted him about it when I arrived, he simply laughed and said, «that happen sometimes» with his strong accent. THEN he had the nerve to call me in my room and tell me to move my car because a larger car wanted to park in my spot. I don’t think so.

Worst hotel experience of my life. Dirty, inconvenient, and extremely arrogant and rude employees. I would have rather slept on the ground at the airport.
