I cannot believe I’ve been living so close to an authentic Indian restaurant and not knowing it. They have truly Indian food and decent prices. Need a tasty yet quick lunch? How’s Indian buffet? Also great for dinner. I highly recommend this place.

I have eaten at a ton of Indian Buffets and this is by far my favorite. Bonus that it’s on my side of town. Their butter chicken is my hubby’s favorite. I love their goat curry and eggplant dish. I eat here once or twice a week. Very friendly staff.

The food was good, the food took forever, I told the waiter I wasn’t fond of spicy food and when I ordered naan he recommended a cheesy naan, and it was quite spicy; I was super disappointed because I love bread but I couldn’t eat it. But will be back & will stick with the regular naan

Food was fairly good. The naans were awesome, the dal makhani was well flavored but slightly undercooked. The paneer butter masala had a good flavor except that it was slightly sweet which is not to my liking. But for the value, I find this place quite good, and for an Indian restaurant here in Texas, it does a decent job.

I’ve visited twice for the lunch buffet and was great each time. I appreciate the variety on the buffet, from chicken tikka masala and saag paneer to goat biryani and dishes I have never heard of(but was excited to try!). It’s a great spot for a casual lunch and the staff is always friendly. I love the dosas that are brought to the table upon sitting down with your first plate and the fact that I can get as much naan and chutney as I want. The price has inched up to 12.95 per person since my first visit, but it’s still a great value for the quality of the food available.

Wow absolutely love the food in here. I think we had masala dose and mixed kabab was so amazing. We wish the curry house team to their success. We will definitely go back.

Wow. How have I lived here for years and never seen/visited this place?!? If you are or know a vegetarian in the area, this should be in the regular rotation. To echo others, the staff is extremely attentive and it’s one of the most welcoming environments I’ve been in at a restaurant. The restaurant itself is clean, bright and airy. If you’re new to Indian cuisine this is a lot less intimidating than going to a restaurant that overdoes it on the décor to the point of almost being kitschy. It’s tucked in on the back side of a strip in front of the center with Chuck-E-Cheese, so unless you’re heading to the west on FM1960, chances are you’ve never even seen the storefront. Papadum came out first with tamarind sauce and mint chutney. They have a very light, thin version which is similar to lentil chips or «Munchos» — do not take any of the negative connotations that may have come to mind with that comparison. Simply put, they’re addictive and I’m glad appetizers showed up before I could ruin my meal. We started with vegetable samosa and paneer tikka. The samosa came with the same sauces as the papadum which is a good thing. The paneer tikka was perfectly spiced and I’m contemplating getting that as an entrée in the future. My girlfriend quickly decided on the chicken tikka masala while I was having quite a bit of trouble deciding between chicken palak, vindaloo or chettinadu. I wasn’t familiar with chettinadu and asked for some more detail to help deciding. Our waiter was extremely helpful in explaining the options and his recommendation, while warning that the chettinadu was more spicy, which ironically sealed the deal for me to order it. Our chicken arrived with a heaping basket of naan. Wow. To start, the naan isn’t even remotely greasy. It’s puffy and pillow soft and delicious. If you’ve never had Indian food before, dishes are served in manner conducive to family style, so don’t be afraid to try a few things and pass them around to share. If you don’t like spicy at all, ask for it mild. They’re more than happy to customize to your preferences. The tikka masala was phenomenal, and the chettinadu even better in my opinion. One common criticism of mediocre restaurants is that the chicken tends to be dry. Not here. It’s obvious that they’re using quality ingredients and take the time to prepare everything to perfection when you order it instead of taking shortcuts. To that point, order for take-out or come for the lunch buffet if you’re not in the mood to wait 20 – 30 minutes for your food… or just get an appetizer! :) So as not to be heathens and waste the delicious stews, most of our naan was spent soaking up and savoring them. Nothing wrong with that! Had we gone with the rice, I’m sure we would have poured the stews over to the same effect. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful experience here tonight. Waiter, staff & manager were extremely attentive & friendly– even to our loud 2 year old daughter :) The food was excellent. Varied dishes on menu, many different options than I’ve seen at other Indian restaurants, in addition to the usually. Vegetable rice was delicious & not overpowering with spices– perfect for our daughter. The garlic naan and lamb naan were fluffy & perfectly cooked. We ordered the gobi appetizer and it was outstanding, very unique. Definitely the most flavorful cauliflower I’ve had. Chicken vindaloo was spicy! Loved it. This is a GEM in the otherwise lack luster restaurant choices of the area.

Couldn’t ask for nicer service. Was my mom’s first time having Indian food and she was not disappointed. Mango Lassi, lemon rice, Chicken Korma, Tikka Masala and Dosas were all tasty with an approachable, but not diluted spice level. See you again soon :)

If you are a South Indian living around the Kingwood/Humble area, do not look any further. This place is as good as a South Indian restaurant can get. I have had Biriyani in a lot of Indian restaurants in the US but Curry House comes the closest to the authentic South Indian Biriyani. The staff are extremely friendly too. A typical South Indian’s taste buds are greedy. Most hybrid Indian restaurants(North + South) concentrate on just the select-few dishes from the South Indian cuisine. In Curry House, they’ve made sure to cover more varieties ranging from the authentic filter coffee to the Madurai Podi Idlys. I just wish the prices can be a tad lesser.

Pretty good indian food near old town humble. I came on a weekday during lunch and they had their buffet. Not sure if they have it for dinner though. They had a handful of veggie dishes, three meats(tikka chicken, goat curry and butter chicken), unlimited naan, salad, desserts, and chutneys(inc. Coconut). They also bring to your table a potato parantha. Food was good, fresh and served at the appropriate temperature, service was great, although you don’t need much at a buffet. My favs were: — Tikka chicken — it was moist, not dry and very flavorful — A thick veggie dish with potatoes and cauliflower — Goat curry — Potato parantha I’ll be sure to stop back by this buffet every now and then. It’s not a weekly spot for me, but maybe monthly.

Wow! This place is amazing! It is probably the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The place is spotless, and the service is amazing. The eggplant was amazing. The butter chicken… Yum. Everything was amazing.

Probably the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten, and I’m a New Yorker who has lived in lots of places and finally settled here in Texas. All dishes are great and the staff is helpful and attentive. My favorite dish is the mutton rogan josh. It is one of the most savory and spicy dishes on the menu. The goat is soft and tender and falls off the bone. Served with steamed rice or naan and you’ve got yourself a dinner you will crave over and over again. As I was writing this my wife just called her lunch«out of control awesome.» She is gluten-free for allergy reasons and is also a meat lover. She has never had any issues with this place. We both eat the amazing vegetarian options available too. Buffet is quick and delicious. If you come for dinner be prepared to wait about 20 – 30 minutes for your food since it is cooked fresh(and you can tell by the taste)!

Yowzer! This seriously hit the spot. I didn’t realise quite how desperately I missed proper Indian food until this meal. Living in Austin(which is a wasteland in terms of central Asian food) — I’ve been deprived for months — but this place was a perfect reunion. Totally charming staff, speedy service — a good sized menu(big enough to have all the usual suspects plus some extras without having so many options that it can’t possibly be fresh!) The chicken tikka was tender and well flavoured, the butter chicken beautifully spiced, the naan pillowy instead of greasy and the salted lassi was better than the ones I guzzled in Delhi. It’s a neighbourhood restaurant so don’t come expecting Michelin starred service and presentation — but for the price and the location, it’s EXACTLY what a local Indian should be.

I have to say I really like this place. ON the occassions that i have been there i have tried the following: Saag paneer, chicken vindaloo, gulab jamun(dessert), carrot halwa(dessert), chicken tandori, chick pea masala, eggplant curry, chicken masala, the mango kulfi and several others which I have forgotten the name but not the taste! Everything was delicious, spicy, and well seasoned. The desserts are never too sweet or rich. they are light and perfect. The wait staff is always very helpful. I look forward to many more trips to the Curry house. Its almost an hour away from where i live but i dont mind driving for good food. only down part about it all… you get full and have to leave :-(.

The short of it: ============ The Curry House serves delicious authentic Indian food, freshly made, amazing textures, infused spices, and solid touch of heat. They are open for lunch and dinner and close in between. The prices are reasonable. The portions are large. The wine and beer list is short, but the prices are very reasonable for a restaurant. The service is great, friendly, quick and attentive. The ambiance is modern diner with new fixtures and seating. All in all, it’s some of the best Indian food in the Houston area. REMEMBER! Everything is made fresh, and takes time to prepare. For a quick lunch, phone in your order to-go or choose their buffet. REMEMBER! If you like things more on the mild side, remember to tell them or enjoy a possible surprise. The long version … all the gory details!!! =============================== The first thing I noticed was the wonderful food smells. Then I noticed that the Curry House lacks all the decorations that you’d expect in an Indian restaurant. No shrines, elephants, classical Indian paintings, gods, etc. It’s sort of a dinner-esque kind of place. Weird and wonderful. There was a small wait until a table opened up. We were seated relatively quickly Menus, water, papadum, mint chutney, and tamarind sauce appeared almost immediately followed by our waiter. Great service. They were packed with patrons eating in. They do a great take out business too. All very efficient and inviting. The waiter was patient and helpful. He understood our customization and was extremely polite. NOTE! He assumed we wanted the food moderately spicey … Remember to ask if you want it mild or extra hot. The papads were un-peppered and and felt like lentil potato chips. Light and tasty. They were consumed too easily. The sauces were made in house. The mint chutney was deliciously creamy(coconut milk and yogurt as opposed to vinegar based). The tamarind was thin and sweet goodness(not chunky like a BBQ sauce). Like mom used to make … yummy. We started with lamb samosas(3 pieces in an order). When I first saw it, it looked odd. It was cooked like a dumpling(a dough pouch of stuffing twisted at the top and deep fried as opposed to a folded triangle or pyramid). It looked a little over done and dark. But when I cut into it, the meat was steaming and juicy. The minced lamb was perfectly cooked. The thin crisp dough container was crunchy and delicious, not oily. It was cooked perfectly. I was surprised. AWESOME! Since everything is fresh, the main courses took a little time. By the time I thought«Where’s the main course», it showed up. LOL. Right on time. NOTE! If you need a quick fix, phone in your order to-go or choose their buffet. The service is fast, but making fresh food takes time. The Shrimp Curry was amazing. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, sweet and tender. It’s sauce was textured with fresh ingredients(onions, garlic, ginger, etc.). It was flavorful and a little hot. The sauce was much thicker than Thai variants with less coconut milk. It was a thick stew to pour over rice or to soak up with naan. Yummy!!! The Lamb Korma was delicious(We substituted lamb for goat since it is my wife’s standard for measuring Indian food). Chunks of lamb spiced and cooked in a classic Korma sauce. There was a light smokiness to the meat which was fresh, cooked well, tender and juicy. The sauce was distinctly korma(color and texture) and not re-purposed from a common base. Did I mention fresh? We had them prepare the Gobi Manchurian appetizer as a veggie side dish. These are cauliflower fritters in a comparatively dry tomato based sauce. Again great textures and unique flavors. The bus staff were amazing. Did I mention that the food was moderately spicy hot? LOL! They must have filled my water glass 5 times. It was never empty. After we ate and packed half of the meal to take home, I got the best surprise of all. It was relatively inexpensive for the quality and quantity of food and the great service. All in all, it’s the best Indian food I’ve had in the Houston area. All the sauces were authentic, different, fresh, fragrant, and delicious. When I compare The Curry House to the places in the loop, it’s superior to most and perhaps tied with one or two. However, the price is less than half of its high end H-Town competitors.

Husband and I really enjoyed this place. It being the first Indian restaurant we have ever been too, we were pleasantly surprised that it was a great experience. The staff was courteous. They were promptly refilling our water glasses. We didnt know what to order and the waiter helped us out. It was all delicious. We ordered vegetable pulav, lamb kabobs, chicken tandoori, rasam soup, and mango kulfi(ice cream). They brought chips with two sauces(salsa isnt the right term right?). We cannot wait to return. The food was perfect. Not salty. The pulav was light, like eating air –so light and airy. So good. They do lunch buffet and I plan on bringing my parents.

Awesome Indian cuisine in the heart of Humble! We come in on a Monday afternoon for lunch and they had a steady crowd the whole time… which is always a good sign! We decided to dive into the buffet to sample more of the food choices. Everything we was ammmmaaazing! The only downside was I was craving the chicken tandoori was cold :( Everything else was hot and spicy and the naan was incredible. They only sold canned drinks or bottled water. Everyone was very friendly! Def one of the best places to eat in the area. I wish them many many years of success!
