I usually choose SA over Academy because of the rewards program. I earn points that I can use for cash in their store. They have great prices on kids shoes and a decent clearance section that’s always well stocked. There’s a lady at the registers that’s been there forever and she knows what she’s doing so the lines move quickly. I like their selections separated by brand and always find what i need without the crowds of other sports stores.

I was thinking about not putting anything up here but as I am waiting for 15+ minutes on hold to check on my refund, I felt it would be prudent to make a personal review. Jan. 1 I go into this location to buy a tent. 87 and change out the door. The guys were helpful, this would give a 3 on purchasing from my perspective. A OK rating. After the purchase I went to the event and found that my company provided tents and I would not have a need for the product. This was great! I took the item back for a refund. When I walked in it was a female that had a hard time getting around due to her weight constraints. She was an employee so I asked her if there was a supervisor to help me with some questions. She said«Whachoo axin’ fo. I told her I had a return and she said nothing but grabbed my product and made a sound like tch tch as if she was being put out of her way. I smiled at her and she said«You got a receipt fo that? I said that I did and gave it to her. When she grabbed it, she made more of those tck tch sounds that started to piss me off. She said nothing as she handed me the receipt which took a while as she had to build up energy to do so. I took the receipt never to come back EVER. Customer Service call: I call the 1800 number because it was a few days and still no credit to my account. When I spoke to the women she gave me the information of it taking 3 – 10 business days to hit the account. Taniasha told me that it was the industry standard and there was nothing she could do, immediately, before I could make a comment, she asked now, was there anything else I could help you with. As if to shovel me off and get rid of me al together in the most condescending tone capable. It sounded like I was the 572nd person to ask her that question today! I said, that it would not be acceptable to wait so long and I wanted to get a refund as the product is no longer in my possession. She then spoke louder and slower I TOLDYOUITWOULDTAKE3 — 10BUSINESSDAYSTO… I interrupted her and spoke even louder with clear distinction to tell her«Do not speak to me as if I can’t speak English, it is rude and condescending» She said she didn’t. Obvious reply to someone that is called out on their shit. She immediately changed her demeanor 180 degrees. I argued in a normal tone after that and still to no avail, she would not let me speak to anyone higher than her nor verbally came off of her podium to speak to me as a customer(soon to be forever ex customer of this innate incompetent company) or help me in any way shape or form. Any apology was back handed ie. I am sorry but that is policy. That pisses me of to no end. Please save yourself time, money, frustration, bad outlook on human nature, anxiety, did I mention frustration? and never ever visit this location as the Management Team has no training when it comes to customer service. I am considering this in a positive manner as the Company headquarters apparently has the same training regimen in hopes the apple does not fall far from the preverbial tree, you may have luck at another location. TERRIBLEHORRIBLENOGOODVERYBADEXPERIENCE!!! THISPLACESUCKS! I feel much better. Take your chances, you have been warned.

My husband and I walked into this store with the idea that we else re going to purchase a new treadmill, bowflex weight set/stand and weight bench. We hit-up the clothing area as Under Armour was on sale. On the way to the fitness area, we noticed the floor tiles were cracked and the carpets hadn’t been swept in a long time. Additionally we noted that there weren’t any employees, anywhere. We started at the weights while my husband verified the items he wanted. We then moved onto the treadmills and I checked out the differences between the two models I was interested in. I had a couple of questions and realized that we still hadn’t seen an associate. We made our way back to the weights and started looking around for help. After several minutes, I walked to the customer service desk for help. I watched and heard the woman request help where we were. We waited an additional 10+ minutes and were never helped, nor was an employee ever seen. While our $ 1500 purchase may have seemed insignificant enough to the store, it was a hefty chunk of money for us. Sadly we walked out without our purchases and with a sincere dislike for Sports Authority. I had requested a supervisor but was advised he was in the middle of a shift change. Dirty store, unhelpful and/or non-existent staff. Will not return.
