Humble, TX
Good food. Yum. They especially excel with their entrees. The fried wings are yummy and meaty. Oxtails? Yes, please. Their gumbo is not the same as what my family grew up calling gumbo, but hey, that’s the way it is. The stuff is still darned tasty. I personally don’t like the cornbread, since there is sugar in it. Another family cooking rule that I can’t get passed. Also, the sides seem a little bit like an afterthought. I am hoping that by the time they get the dining tables in place, they’ll straighten that out. The folks here are really nice. I am loving this little hole-​in-​the wall and will come back again and again.
