Not at that location, drove to location on map but no building. Where is it. Phone had been disconnected.

This place is certainly a dive. Really outdated furniture and décor. The menu is very expansive which means old frozen food, so stay with the popular stuff. The food isn’t great but not terrible. They water board everything in chili and queso product. I thought my sides of rice and beans were great and the kids ate all in front of them; bonus. Service was ok as well. Not expensive but will not be returning.

Beware of astroturfers and old outdated reviews… this place is horrid. the owners do nothing if you complain. its like its your fault. bad attitudes and bad food. drive buy this one. really drive on by. The first thing that hits you when you walk in the door is a musty dirty smell. Undoubtly caused by the filthy carpet. It took a while to get served even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Chips were warm and crispy, but tasted a little old. They had a greenish and red salsa that were both very spicy. No mild salsa. I ordered chicken enchiladas verde. They were over done basically tasted like the green salsa. The chicken was cut into little chunks and not seasoned at all. Rice was blah, beans had no flavor. There are allot better mom and pop places in atascosita than this one

Great food, great prices, quick service. Lots of Mexican restaurants in the area, but this one is awesome.

Been going to this place for years. Very authentic Tex-Mex. Barbacoa and menudo on weekends is perhaps the best in Texas. Round it out with a Tecate michelada and you have the best.

Just the Divey mexican restaurant I wanted! This place gives you just what you expect, good food served cheap! I had a barbacoa taco, and a potato and chorizo taco(it’s not on the menu per say, but they allowed it). The real surprise here is the coffee. Probably cinnamon in it, but it could be crack…

Come for the coffee, and stay for the tortillas! Who doesn’t love a good hot breakfast, great coffee and a cheap price to go along with it? Manuel’s was a Unilocal search find when the BF and I were looking for some place close for breakfast/brunch. You can tell this place is family owned and the fact that it looked like many regulars were there was a good sign as well. The coffee is tasty and seemed to have a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg added to the grounds. I opted for huevos rancheros and the BF got a barbacoa taco, and a potato one as well. The tortillas are tasty and definitely handmade, and we were both pretty pleased with our selections. A clean plate makes a happy plate… and both our plates were very happy!

Never will eat here again. Food went bad and they still server it to us. Asked for fresh beans and was ignored. The ladies bathroom was nasty ! I told them I was not going to pay for bad food so they called the cops ! Cops told then the same thing ! Health department is being called

I eat at Manuel’s regularly and find the service and staff extremely friendly and helpful. For excellent Tex Mex you can’t go wrong. Try the Queso Flamedo appetizer.

We wen’t to Manuel’s due to the great reviews received on Unilocal. The food was actually good but the place was dead at lunchtime on a Monday. My wife ordered a side of Guacamole and she said it tasted like it was store bought… not authentic. They served soft drinks in cans which was another minus. Beans, rice, enchiladas were all great which is probably why we will give them another shot but will keep looking for that hole in the wall Mexican food place that knocks our socks off in EVERY way.

I love this place. My husband and I just moved here from Austin and San Antonio so we were hoping to find a new staple Mexican restaurant. We did! Classic Tex-Mex, homemade tortillas, great enchiladas and great fajitas! They also have amazing breakfast tacos Saturday and Sunday morning until noon. Good happy hour, not quite sure what all it includes but its from open until 5PM Mon-Thur. $ 2.50 micheladas with homemade bloody mary mix, cant be beat! Also, they do fajitas for 2 for $ 12.50 on Thursday. Very tasty and a good deal!

Seriously people, how can anyone say this is good Mexican food. I don’t know how this place is in business. We went for lunch and were the only ones there from the time we walked in til we left. Food had no flavor or taste at all and the queso tasted from a can. Just highly disappointed in the quality. Not trying to be ugly because I understand that’s there livelihood but I was seriously mislead by reviews of the restaurant

I took my son here for lunch last month. It was his 5th birthday and he said he wanted Mexican Food. Being new to Humble I wasn’t sure where to go, so to the trusty Unilocal I went and ended up at Manuel’s. The staff was very friendly and engaged in conversation with my son. Big points right there. I cannot stand when waiters don’t acknowledge children and dismiss them as if they are not capable of holding a conversation. Don’t ask ME what he wants, ask HIM. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. I ordered the Torta de Carnitas. Oh my Gawd. Juicy, tender meat. Big sandwich, could only eat half. My son got the taco del carbon on the kids menu. He eats like a bird and ate the whole meal that cost $ 4.50!!! SUPER affordable prices. After eating i got up and asked if they had desserts and candles since it was my sons birthday. He apologized and said no, that they just had sopapias.(sp?) I thanked him and sat down. Next thing I knew everyone was coming by telling my son happy birthday. A few minutes later they came with ice cream, sopapias, a hat and a few waiters to sing my son happy birthday! He lit up and I could tell he felt special. Soooooo, THANKYOU Manuel’s for the great service, hospitality, affordable prices, tasty food and most of all making my son smile on his 5th Birthday. We will be back. Did i mention he didn’t charge for the sopapias or ice cream?

I love this place, have for a very very long time. So this review is a long time coming. There were only 2 complaints which I will get to later. The enchiladas were so yummy and gooey with cheese. Exactly how I like my enchiladas, the rice was also very good. I got the charro bean instead of refried, there were hardly any beans.(1st complaint). The salsa was very good and tea was great. As I walked into the restaurant I was carrying my 7 month old in a carrier, the door was very heavy and slammed back on me.(ouch) When I got in the waiters were standing there right in front of the door watching me struggle. This one time I am willing to forgive, so I will be back.(2nd complaint)

My wife and I lived in Humble for several years, and Manuel was our comfort restaurant. It was were we would go if we wanted to go out, but couldn’t think of any place to go. It was were we would go if we needed comfort food or just to get out. The food is good, the ambiance is Manuel’s. If you are looking for a nice comfy place to get some good food, and be served by one of the nicest staffs around, this is it. Do not expect fancy, but do expect comfy. Side note: Now they we are living in Virginia, many times my wife and I have joked about having Manuel’s overnighted.

When we first started coming here regularly, I was really hesitant. It was really different from our previous favorite Mexican restaurant. Atmosphere — Genuine Mexican feel. Little shelves with knick-knacks everywhere. Comfortable atmosphere. Nice waitstaff. Food — They start you off with chips and dip, like any other Mexican restaurant. These are good. Real good. The food comes in good portions, and is very tasty. My brother is in love with the queso. Price– Really fair, modest price. The only thing that holds this back from a five star review is that they often over-charge us for our drinks.

Disclaimer: I have been eating at Manuel’s as far back as I can remember. There’s an element of nostalgia in this review. Heck, they already know my order when I walk in the door! The review: if you want no frills and cheap food, this is the place to go in atascocita. Your order is quick and the service is great. Have I had better quality Mexican food? Yes, but not at this price. Oh yeah, you get free soft serve when dine in. Free ice cream? You heard correct sir :)

I can’t believe that no one has reviewed Manuel’s before! This was one of the first restaurants to open up in Atascocita and has been around ever since. The great thing about this place is that it’s family owned and run and their food has never changed — you never walk in expecting one thing and get another. I grew up living down the street from the family that owned this place, so needless to say, I’ve been eating here since I was in elementary school. The interior of the restaurant is nothing fancy, just some tables and booths and lots of Mexican décor — flags, parrots, and various ceramic items that you see for sale in any store in a border town. The food itself is decent but certainly not the best I’ve ever had. The salsa is not very good and the chips are nothing special either. If you like pico de gallo you should ask for it instead of salsa because it’s much better. The queso is a little plain. The menu hasn’t changed much over the years either and the best thing on it is still the Chef’s Special. It’s two beef or chicken fajita(I like the beef) filled corn tortilla enchiladas covered in a traditional sauce and slathered in lots of greasy cheese. You also get a nice portion of Spanish rice and lard-filled refried beans. I’ve tried most of the things on the menu at one point or another and I think some of the more traditional Mexican dishes are better than than the Tex-Mexier ones. Don’t expect gourmet food if you come here though because home cooked Mexican dishes is what you’ll get.
