Lovett Dental

My daughter had a dental emergency while away at school, after calling several dental offices I called Lovett Dental. I was told to come on in, less than an hour my daughter was seen. The staff was kind and the dentist was gentle. Thank you for taking care of my daughter.

They neglected to tell me before my appointment that my insurance only covers pediatric dentistry up to the age of 6, and their regular dentist won’t see patients under the age of 12. I know they were aware of this because they called me the day before to verify my insurance. They expected me to pay cash for the visit. Not happening, as I pay for insurance. I asked for my Id and insurance card back as they refused to use it. I shoved the clipboard back at the gentleman at the front desk in frustration that they waited until I was in front of them to inform me they expected cash payment and he told me «fuck you bitch» in front of my 9 year old and other children in the waiting room. Unprofessional doesn’t begin to cover their actions

Showed up way too early for an appt but instead of letting me know I showed up early the front desk carried on with their conversation and ate lunch and had me wait over an hour and half. The only saving grace was the dental hygienist and dentist herself! Both were very polite and kind!

I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but my kids last several appointments at Lovett have been very frustrating. I kept hoping it will get better as hunting for another dentist takes time, but today was the last straw. I am willing to drive further to find better service.
Probably the only good thing about going here is that it’s relatively easy to get an appointment, but aside from that, I would recommend saving this place for an emergency, but not making it your regular dentist.
Let’s see… for starters, the staff is pretty unfriendly and unhelpful. They really don’t go out of their way to resolve any issues. For instance, they couldn’t locate my daughter’s insurance info in the system and it caused us to miss the appointment. I even made multiple calls while trying to sort out the issue and confirmed that the problem was not with the insurance. But still, nothing worked and we had to leave without being treated. After the fact, I found out that they could have called their help line and sorted it out if they’d felt like it.
So, unprofessional desk staff isn’t the end of the world, but then we weren’t impressed with the dentistry either. Cleaning was fine. No problems there, but when I took my daughter in to get a filling done, it was very rushed. I probably should have just said I would come back another time when they weren’t so busy, but figured they knew what they were doing. Turns out they filled a fairly large cavity in just 20 minutes. My 8 year old said it was very painful and that she doesn’t remember them actually giving her the novocaine. She remembers the numbing swab, but doesn’t recall any needles being used. I’m not sure if that’s possible or that a dentist would do that, but I wasn’t allowed in the room, so I only have her word for it.
My daughter who used to be fine with dentist trips cried all the way to our last appointment. I told her I’d try talking to the dentist and asking her to go slower and to make sure to let the painkiller take effect, but then… should I really have to do that? I think I’ll just quietly go my own way and find another dentist.

This place is garbage. The first time they made us wait two hours only to tell us they lost our chart nd couldn’t see us. The second time they made us wait an hour, with our kids (and they have no toys or videos). We asked how much longer and they told us «if you don’t like to wait you can just leave.» So we did. Rude, incompetent, terrible service. DO NOT GO HERE!

I had a wonderful experience. Just came in for a checkup and cleaning (while I’m in Houston area), Staff was experienced and provided excellent one on one service. Gentle and pain free! I will definitely refer to friends :)
