I used to ride the bus into town from here every day. It’s a pretty nice park and ride. Plenty of shelter from inclement weather, benches for waiting, ample parking in a good location close to Beltway 8/Sam Houston Parkway North East. The one thing I really remember about it was sitting there waiting for the bus and hearing roosters crowing. Not something you would expect, but it’s an older part of town and there are no tyrannical HOAs to deal with out there. It made the wait for the bus a bit more relaxing and fun. Although some have described this area to me as «iffy», I have never felt uneasy about being here. Last note, riding the 256 bus out here costs the least of any of the Eastex corridor buses. Off hours, ride the 259, it stops at all the Eastex Corridor stops.
