had an absolutely delightful stay over 5 nights at b&b by the sea. the home was condemned years ago then restored by jeff, who added many modern comforts along the way. the second floor suite where i stayed has gorgeous views, a comfy bed, a steam shower, a private deck with lounge chairs, strong wifi, and a well-appointed kitchenette. jody runs the b&b, creating a clean and cozy space, providing for every conceivable need. she visited other new england bed and breakfasts to learn from best, and it shows. the breakfast spread was top-notch, especially considering there were just two of us staying: freshly brewed coffee, fresh fruit, orange juice, infused water, bagels, scones, english muffins, greek yogurt, cheese, and freshly baked scones. jody was flexible, communicative, and helpful throughout my stay. the location is away from the tourist areas, beach, and downtown so it’s very peaceful, right by the ocean for beautiful views and sunsets. the house dogs, jj and jack, are cute and playful but never disturbed my sleep. the home itself is spacious and lovely, filled with nice touches and comfortable spots to hang out. there are fresh flowers throughout the house and candlelight in the evening. if you’re looking for a historic home with period antiques and historic accuracy, this is not it. and if you’re looking for a trendy, touristy spot or a luxury retreat, this is not it. but if you’re looking for somewhere welcoming, peaceful, and relaxing where you can unwind and enjoy the views, i highly recommend b&b by the sea. i thought it was a great value and would go back in a heartbeat.
