Cheap for a reason. Customer service is terrible and the delivery company is just as bad. It took 8 weeks to get my furniture(was told it would take 4 by the owner, Tommy). When I had trouble with the delivery company, I left messages for Elaine(sales rep) and Tommy — no response. We’re buying additional pieces elsewhere.

I cannot stress enough how much I would discourage ANYONE from engaging with this«business.» I ordered a sofa with the anticipated completion date being approximately 30 days later. I received that sofa EXACTLYFOURMONTHS later. Not only was I NEVER offered an apology but Tarheel NEVER took responsibility for multiple errors and miscommunications. The only thing I was able to count on Tarheel for was their constant blaming of Basset(the actual manufacturer of the sofa I ordered). I had used Tarheel three times in the past and referred a friend to them as well but my customer history and continued business meant nothing to them. Kirsti was my point of contact and she is possibly one of THEMOST unprofessional people I have ever had to interact with. Of the nearly dozen times I expected return phone calls from her, she called ONCE. Every other time I had to call her. On one particularly infuriating phone call, it had been over a week since we last spoke and she had promised to return my phone call the following day — when I called and asked to speak to Kirsti the person who answered the phone said they’d transfer me, and as this was occurring I realized it was Kirsti, I was transferred into her voicemail! I immediately called back and said, «Kirsti, I just called to speak with you and I believe you transferred me into your voicemail.» Her response was, «Ma’am, I HAVECUSTOMERS!» I told her she could’ve just said that. The lack of professionalism and accountability Kirsti displayed throughout the course of four months was shocking. As things began to start going down hill I googled the company and found they already have 11 complaints with the Better Business Bureau(soon to be 12). Please save yourself the heartache and go elsewhere. I would’ve rather paid full price and had my sofa direct from Bassett within 30 days than deal with the constant run around, frustration and lack of professionalism exhibited by Tarheel than save a couple bucks.

Google this place before ordering from here. I do want to preface by saying that most of my dissatisfaction is due to the delivery company that Tarheel Home Furnishings uses — D & D Delivery. However, it is Tarheel who chooses to maintain this relationship and Tarheel has also been disappointing to work with. I ordered 3 pieces of my discontinued bedroom set from them to be shipped to my home in Miami. I was fooled by their sweet North Carolina accents and went with them even though other companies were the same price, even lower, because I thought they seemed like a more competent company. What was I relying on? My woman’s intuition? I should have googled them at which time I would have found these lovely reviews: Here is the gist of my nightmare: I ordered from them Jan 26, 2012. The furniture finally arrived 8 weeks later. Two pieces were fine, but one was broken. According to D&D it broke«on the truck» but my husband believes they broke it coming up the stairs. Why would they carry a giant dresser up a winding staircase, in the hot Miami heat if they leg was snapped off? There was an issue with the delivery(they came an entire day later than they told me). I called Kristie(my sales rep). Of course she wasn’t working(because I am convinced that no one at Tarheel ever works) so I left a message. She did not ever call me back. Fast forward three more weeks and D&D says its coming. Guess what? They broke it AGAIN. This time they scratched it. Ha! I called Tarheel to speak to the person who handles the relationship with D&D. I was told it was two people, both of whom are out of town. I asked for Kristie. She is also out of town. Shocker. No one from Tarheel ever called my back. D & D eventually came with the piece. It was repaired and looks great. the customer service provided by Tarheel was completely unacceptable, however.
