You can’t call yourself a Hudson townie until you’ve picked up takeout from Star Ocean. I’m sure there are better Chinese places somewhere in Massachusetts, but this one is our local favorite. Bonus points for featuring the most cryptic fortune cookies I’ve ever seen, and it seems like they always throw in an extra side dish with the larger orders.

We love the food here but the woman who answers the phone sounds irritated by your call 90% of the time. And it’s not like we modify our order at all. Honestly I would give them five stars if she wasn’t rude about our take out orders.

I love this place and have been ordering from here for years. The food is just above average, IMO, but the price is right. My go-to food order is the combo plate of fried rice, chicken fingers and crab rangoon for around $ 6 and the serving sizes on all three items are hefty. My fiancé and I usually share the combo plate and order a few extra rangoons because they are awesome. I’m sure you can find better Chinese food in the area but you’ll also be paying a little more. Star Ocean is the best bang for your buck.

The girl on the phone was very rude. I have tried their food before, very greasy, so I told them less oil this time. She yelled back said they couldn’t use less oil, and on and on and on, just screaming like crazy… So I told her to cancel my order. Bye bye! Will never return.

Horrible, just ridiculous. I call, to order 3 small sized items, for two people. I called at 5:13 pm and was told my rice, noodles and chicken fingers wouldn’t be ready… until after 9pm. I told them from the beginning, i was paying a credit card. So after being told on the phone, it would take till 9pm to get 3 items i asked for, i asked«why so long?» The guy on the phone said«because a lot of people pre-ordered»… and that if i walk in and order, it would be a lot shorter wait. Understandable…(i live .2 miles away lol) So i drive there. Order my food, and before i even get it… they want me to pay which is «whatever» at this point. I hand them my debit card and at this point am now being told, i cant pay with it. Only on the holidays there saying they dont accept cards. Whaaat? Thats all i have, and you accepted my card on the same holiday before…(&WHYDONT U ACCEPTCARDSTODAY? BECAUSETHEYDONTWANTTOPAYTHEIRCREDITCARDMERCHANTS A % of there money they make, they want pure cash because there being greedy) so i took my business elsewhere to Feng and Dominos. Where i used my card. …I wouldnt be so upset if i didnt drive there and order…(after calling to order)… just to be told i cant pay, with my only form of payment. And no, they wouldnt take a check either. Here you go Star Ocean, you didnt know i Unilocal about everything. This is the WORST experience ive ever had here, and ive been going their, for a looong time. Ive gone here my whole life since they’ve opened. They would not accept my card.(tonight only) and wouldn’t give me my food until after 9pm when i called at 5:13pm. So i left, because they clearly didn’t want my business. And its not the same people who used too work their… so they are all sorts of scrambled and disorganized. Especially tonight.

Amazing egg roll! Filling was crispy asian veggie mix, not that usual mush, it was fried to the perfect crispness.

The food is great but the people who answer the phone need to speak better English because they never seem to understand what I’m saying and the they get mad when i correct them when they repeat my order incorrectly. Also, sometimes they are very rude to you while taking your order. There has also been several occasions where we ordered soda to be delivered and they forgot it! Thank god we don’t live far so they could go back and get it but for it happen so many times that we remember is ridiculous.

Always good quality. Their General Tso Chicken & Crab Rangoons are pretty darn tasty. New Year’s Eve is always a pain in the tookus here, but other than that, the best Chinese in Hudson.

The food is consistently good. I’ve lived in Hudson for years and I’ve never had a bad meal from here. The employees aren’t very good talking to customers but on the other hand, they never make a mistake with the orders. Personally, if I have to choose between good food and good attitude, I’ll take the good food. This is definitely a take-out restaurant-only two booths and not very comfortable.

The biggest, crispiest, juiciest chicken wings that you will ever eat! Also LOVE the beef lo mein. Very large portion, loaded with beef, seasoned to perfection! Enjoy! :)

Not the best chinese I’ve had but certainly not the worst! They have delivery which is great in a bind, such as the one I was in with a sniveling nose and a temp and no desire to cook. I’m on the fence with a 50 – 50, for a number of reasons, so lets cut to the chase: eggrolls — WONDERFUL! LOVEDTHEM! Egg drop soup — bland, needed salt/flavor but a couple of drops soy and it was great(and this is not from me with the stuffy nose…). Peking ravioli — eh-ok, definitely the best are over in Marlborough China Taste. Chicken wings — a bit dry but flavorful. Because I didn’t have enough items to try, and I did enjoy the egg rolls and the soup, I’ll be ordering again, but I have to go to the restaurant because I didn’t find the menu on line(maybe it was my being completely zonked out) and they didn’t have the courtesy of sending one with the order… The person who took the order on the phone was a bit of a pill, not friendly at all… but the delivery dude was a really nice guy! So, my take — 50−50… for now… :-)

What a change… I used to stop here once a week. It has been about 12 months since my last order. There must be new owners or chiefs. My wife always gets the General Taos chicken. She said this was good but very different. This got the stars. I ordered the spicy pork it w

Very good quality, speed, and price for take out Chinese food. Recommend the crab rangoons for an appetizer, very tasty compared to similar restaurants. Also make sure you take a look at the House Combination menu. They let you choose anything off their fried rice/lo mein, two appetizers, and a big selection of their entrees for about 9 dollars. Easily makes 2 meals of food. Had the Star Ocean Lo Mein(little bit of everything), the crab rangoons, beef teriyaki sticks, and General Tso’s chicken. Almost no where to sit, essentially just a take out place. Haven’t tried their delivery but they got everything right and promptly ready with normal take out.

The food is OK, it’s fast and priced right, but seems a bit cheap. Don’t get me wrong I have had way worse, but I have also had WAY better, but it will take the edge off if you’re craving Chinese food. I’d recommend it as last choice kind of place. The menu is huge which I like a lot, but other than that it’s OK. The service is not really any better, they seem like they could care less that you are there spending money at their business, very«whatever» kind of attitude from the employees.

Just ordered chinese food from this place for the first time since moving to the area. We got: Peking Ravioli, Chicken Lo Mein, Sesame Chicken, Crab Rangoons and Beef Terikayi. The Rangoons, Lo Mein were dynamite. The rest was pretty good. We enjoyed it, but the sesame chicken was a little over-breaded and the raviolis were overly doughy, the terikayi was pretty good but nothing to write home to mom about. Overall we really enjoyed this place as good value for what you get. The portions good sized and very inexpensive. All of that ran us about $ 23 and it was ready in twenty minutes on a Friday night.

This is a great place for FAST and good Chinese food. The portions are huge, and cheap compare to other Chinese food restaurant in the area. The best appetizer they have is undoubtedly the Crab Rangoon, the filling is so delicious, and my hand wasn’t too greasy afterward. I love this place for late night food, and also when I need to get something to eat quick(10 mins). This place is a must visit location, and you can be the judge.
