First of all i wanna say great food. I would of reviewed five stars, but i left a cash tip and someone added a tip to credit bill anyways. I wrote cash in tip slot and left total and signed. When it finally posted to my account it showed an added tip. Bank of America handled the issue i have my money back. Just wanted to warn people to watch your checks. Other than that great portuguese food

OK, let me try to be as succinct as possible. The Food– was fine! Tasty and Portuguese but… not memorable. I had the steak on a hot rock(which was served with the hot sauce completely spilled over and never replaced). The Service– was atrocious and so many mistakes were made that even though the food was«fine» I won’t be going back or recommending. You can get the same food or better at another Portuguese restaurant. Lets start with the second most regrettable part of our meal, the $ 26 special arrived at our table without the potatoes(a major part of the dish). We asked the waitress to check in and then she never came back with the potatoes for the whole meal. Better yet, my grandmother’s dish NEVER came so we ended up sharing our food with her when the waitress never put in her order. My mashed-potatoes were served cold and the dishes came out staggered. Water was never refilled. Our dishes were not picked up once we were done with our meal! So we paid our bill moving dirty dishes around. There are only few tables in this restaurant and we were the biggest party there. There were also two people working. We were so over it, we didn’t care and just wanted to leave. Upon walking out my Portuguese grandmother roughly translated: we can bless this place because we will not be back. Sure it’s busy because it’s Sunday Lunch time. It’s probably going to be. Don’t make excuses and just make it better.

This was the worst gastrointestinal experience of my life and that includes episodes of food poisoning. It took me 3 days after eating god knows what here to have a bowel movement. Run, run fast. Away, far away.

Great food and environment. Middle of no where but if you’re here stop by. Worth a try!

I’ve never had Portuguese food before, but was excited to try it while visiting my cousin who lives in Bolton. I must say, I had a spiritual awakening while eating the octopus in olive oil. Everything else was amazing but months later, I am still thinking about that octopus and plotting a trip to Portugal based solely on my memory of this meal(and my cousin, who visited Portugal recently, said the food was totally authentic and comparable to what she had there). I’m very sad that I live on the other side of the country and won’t be back sooner.

The service was terrible. I asked for a lemon 4 times and in the end got a lime. I gave up. I ordered the tomato and mozzarella salad. This consisted of 3 slices of tomato and 3 slices of mozzarella. There was no dressing or balsamic vinegar. This was all for $ 9.00. It took forever to get the check and get out. I definitely don’t love this place.

This place is truly a hidden gem. The food is AWESOME, the meals are very affordable, and i was loving the wine — great deal. I ordered a half rack of pork ribs and ha;lf rack of beef ribs. I thought the beef ribs were better. The pork was a little dry, and they can’t compare to American BBQ. Lots of great seafood choices, and just an all-around cool place.

Not quite what we expected. Good service. Barbecued meats were dry, salted cod was unappetizing. Beer selection quite limited. Waitstaff was unfamiliar with the 10% Unilocal offer, but we did get the credit nonetheless.

Ok, here is the deal. I was at Old School House a month ago. Although the place was empty, we had a pleasant experience. I came in again and the experience was horrible. The food quality disgusting, the waitresses were rude and couldn’t speak English. They were unfamiliar with the menu, the bad food took forever to come out and at the end, they lost the ticket for one of our order. One person had to wait an additional 20 minutes for a horrible low quality, chewy steak. At the end, you just don’t know what you are going to get at this place. my bill for four was $ 100 of bad food. not once did the manager come out to see if the customers were having a positive experience. It may just be cultural.

The kale soup is as good as my Portuguese grandmothers’ — so good it’ll stop you in your tracks. Entrees are solid but not as spectacular as the soup. Service is very friendly but it’s clear they are understaffed. Be very patient and you’ll have a great time at this fine establishment!

If you’re in a hurry this is not the right place, esp Weekend nights. We waited for an hour for our food.

It was first and last time coming here… service was very slow… appetizer never order by waitress… burgers were cooked wrong had to send back twice… waitress was unattentive. No manager on duty… so no surprise for all these problems… it took over as the first worst burger in Hudson.

Great food, great price! I love this restaurant, has nice size portions and everything it’s delicious! Try the cod on clay and the cod cakes. Awesome

Went for lunch, was pleasantly surprised. Place was not busy, other than the landscapers at the bar… ha. Bread they bring out was great. I had the half-chicken churrasco with black beans. The chicken was quite good, not a huge bird either, suggesting it was an actual chicken and not your typical genetically modified freak-bird. The beans were good, but a bit shiny which I assume meant they had lard(?) or some source of fat that really was a bit much, but that’s just my taste. Overall very good, will go back for sure.

lunch recently… interesting spot that we didn’t know was there(thanks Unilocal)…pretty big place with some group space upstairs, a dining room on one side and a bar, large, on the other… big open bar with a real fireplace roaring away… not too busy for lunch… service was pleasant and attentive, we spent a while looking over the menu as the portuguese meals were new/different for us, we had drinks(small but priced accordingly), i had the ze pipo which was very good and wife had the braz style cod fish which was excellent, wow we both had fish and i am not a big fish eater, food was great, certainly recommend this spot!

I don’t give 4 star reviews easily. It takes a lot to impress me and this is an excellent local restaurant in our tiny little town of Hudson. As luck would have it, Hudson is home to a huge number of Portuguese… Specifically people from the Azores. So what we have here is basically«home cooking» but to those of us that are not Azorean… It’s pretty exotic. Give this place a shot. There’s great variety, reasonable prices and it’s almost always superbly delicious.

1st time to this place. amazing food amazing value. real deal authentic Portuguese/Brazilian cuisine. I had traditional Seafood rice which really seems to be a cioppino. the quantity and quality of this in any other place would be twice what they charge here. completely freshly made and tasty.

Excellent Portuguese food. I have been 3 times and have good meals each time. Seafood is a specialty so I usually go with that. I took a chance with the salt cod fritters(Pasteis De Bacalhau), which I had never had before, and they were terrific! Crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The Seafood Stew was only 16 $; it had 3 types of fish with potatoes, onions, etc. — enough for 2 meals. The pace can be on the Portuguese side, a little slow, but the food is prepared excellently and my experience is that food at a good, authentic Portuguese restaurant, takes time because they prepare it slow-cooked style not fast food style. So I just factor that into my schedule. Only gone for lunch so I can’t speak for supper service/crowd.

Selfishly, I don’t want to share this hidden gem with anyone else, but if I want the place to stay in business, it’s only fair that I recommend the Old School House Pub & Restaurant in Hudson. If you’re like me and have limited band width to read long reviews, here are my highlights in a nutshell: Grilled limpets: unusual and a spectacle Scallops wrapped in bacon with sweet potatoes: these are not your grandmother’s scallops wrapped in bacon – a unique and delicious twist on one of the best dishes ever created! Squid on a skewer: this dramatic presentation was both delicious and surprisingly filling Wines: $ 20/bottle and less; need I say more I didn’t notice whether they charged for the bread and olives, but I didn’t care as they were a unique addition to the meal. Not your average bread basket. I plan to return so I can report on some of the other dishes in another review!

Im only rating on the place which is awesome, and the staff are so nice and respectful. I also gave the five stars to the chouriço sandwich. Its soo good with the balance of the bread and meat seasonings. Yum.
