Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hudson-I-94

Staff is not very helpful. Did not return phone calls as they had promised regarding an issue with my stay. Allowed/​encouraged staff to smoke cigarettes right outside of the front door so that whenever you came in/​out of the lobby you were greeted with cigarette smoke.

I’ve practically lived in hotels for twenty years. Without any exaggerating, I can say that this was in the top three of the rudest front desk staffs I have ever encountered in the U.S. If you stay here, just hope you don’t need anything from them, because chances are better of pigs flying than you being even slightly accommodated. This place is the epitome of the decline of customer service in this country.

Still can’t say enough about this place!!! We have stayed here every year. We would recommend this place to our closest family members! !

We’ve stayed at many HIEs around the country and this one is the same as most others –nothing special nor different besides the weird «no party» agreement you have to sign (my 80 year old parents even had to sign!). Everything as expected including free wifi and breakfast. The one downside is that this location is consistently more expensive than the other nearby hotels.

Where to begin? The offensive anti-​family/​anti-​child policies? The bizarre ‘no partying’ contract you have to sign? Or the astounding mix of promises and propaganda that they exist to ensure everyone’s peace and restfulness, with a work crew that began outside my window at 530am? Trying desperately to be something they’re not, this hotel is an overpriced failure. Paper thin walls, negligent housekeeping staff and an ice cold pool all add to the atmosphere of failure hiding behind a thin veneer of new fixtures.

The Nicest Holiday Inn Express I have ever been to. I used to be a Road Warrior at my job and have stayed in many Holiday Inn Express’s around the country and although, most are pretty good, this one exceeds them all.
The lobby is adequate, pretty standard but the rooms are huge. The bathrooms are all modernized and the beds are super comfy! We used the pool and hot tub and they are both open late, until Midnight which is always nice! Also, from 10 – 12, adult only! Whoo Hoo!
The Breakfast in the morning was definitely better than most complimentary breakfasts. They have the Holiday Inn Express signature Cinnamon rolls, eggs, Biscuits and Gravy, hard boiled eggs, Yogurt, juice, coffee, fruit, etc. Definitely factor this in if you are a budget minded traveler when comparing rates. We got an excellent rate of $ 107 a night on a weekend. I will also note that online it looked like they were fully booked but we just showed up around 9 PM and they did have a room.
One thing I must mention is a gentleman named Jorge who was working in the Breakfast area. I am not sure if he was a manager or just am employee who deserves a UnderCover Boss Bonus but he went above and beyond when making sure all food items were stocked, greeted guests, had conversations with guests, and answered our questions politely.
I most definitely will return to this Hotel in the near future. A++ experience.

The staff here was INCREDIBLY AWESOME!
I was driving from Madison to Minneapolis kind of late in the evening when a massive thunderstorm hit. It was terrifying. It was raining so bad I could barely see out the window and I was gripping the wheel for dear life. My nerves were totally shot.
Finally there was Hudson and YAY hotels! Unfortunately, everyone seemed to have the same idea and the hotels were filling up fast. I usually try to stay at a Marriott but the Marriott next door was «totally full up» and their staff tried to direct me to some «budget priced» place that was several miles away. When I got back to my car, I was like, «But there’s a damn Holiday Inn next door. Why would I drive miles without first checking?»
So I did, and though there were no queen rooms, there WAS a king room with a jacuzzi bath. And they gave me that room for less than the price of the queen room. It was totally awesome. The bed was comfortable. The jacuzzi bath was just what my frazzled nerves needed. It was probably my most comfortable night on my week-​long cross-​country roadtrip.

The Holiday Inn was very clean, bed was comfortable, quiet, and the staff was professional and pleasant. We got the king bed/​suite with hot tub. It was nice. I always appreciate cleanliness as my #1 requirement. The breakfast was okay for «fast food”– it was «free.» We’d stay here and but next time we’d eat at the San Pedro Café, which I hear has a fabulous Sunday brunch!

We never checked in. The front staff was rude and the website gave false information. We were traveling on a tight budget and guaranteed a government rate. When we checked on for our 3 day conference we were told that we could only have one person in the room even though the website confirmed our reservation for two. The next highest rate was much higher than the confirmed rate. It was obvious that they ran this bait and switch before because they were very prepared to tell us that even though it took the reservation for two they couldn’t honor it. When asked to speak to the manager a very unprofessional women came to the desk and said that they could do nothing for us. After traveling all day from Colorado we we forced to go find other accommodations (I was glad because the hotel lobby smelled funny)
We found a lovely hotel ten minutes away in River Falls … The Riverview Hotel and suites.

Very nice hotel we stayed in a suite & it was layed out well. The staff is always friendly and the pool area is clean. Nice hot tub
