I would not recommend this company as I have not had a good experience with them. However, I do have to say the technicians are good though

Unbelievable! I had mid state install a new heat an A/C furnace in my house in 2010! I’ve had nothing but problems with them since! In July of 2010 they installed it but they failed to hook up the heating to the thermostat! So obviously I didn’t notice it till it got cold out! Then a water pump went on it and they charged me 700 dollars to install a 50 dollar pump! Then last year July 4th the freon leaks out and after 2 days of being on there«list» they finally come and fix the leak and refill the freon! So a year later the freon has leaked out again! And they put me back on there list! With no time when there going to get to me! You’d think that they’d want to put me as a priority seeing as my A/C has crapped out on my twice in 4 years! Guy tells me he doesn’t know when he can get to me after waiting all day today! I canceled the service call and called another company who gave me a time tomorrow afternoon! Hopefully they can fix Midstates screw up!!!

A couple of years ago, I was having some problems with my heating unit and the Mid-State guy couldn’t figure it out. To rule out possible issues with my thermostat, I had the guy install a brand new thermostat, which he charged me about $ 400 for, which included installation. I think the thermostat itself costs about $ 50 on Amazon. I just did a Google on cost to install a thermostat and the high price was about $ 190. So this tech basically charged me double the high price — in retrospect this was a pretty unethical thing for them to do. Out of sheer desperation, I finally ended up calling a tech from a different company, who was able to resolve the issue with my heating unit. In response to the recent posted response from Brian D., of Mid-State, it’s interesting to note that he doesn’t dispute the $ 400 cost of the thermostat installation. I am not a heating specialist and frankly had no idea at the time what the reasonable rates for thermostat installation were until I just checked a few days ago. But I certainly didn’t expect to be price-gouged on it due to my ignorance. Mid-State actually did follow up with me about a week after the initial service call, by telephone. But since the original tech hadn’t fixed the issue, I certainly couldn’t report that I was happy with the situation and I believe they didn’t follow up with me thereafter(in any case, it would have been pointless). One thing that bothered me about the whole thing was that the tech, on the surface, seemed knowledgeable about what he was doing(at least more knowledgeable about heating units than me). But, in retrospect, I suspect he may have been way behind the curve in terms of being able to solve simple issues with heating units. But that’s only my *suspicion*, based on my experience with him. Going back to the thermostat installation, I *think*, and I am not sure because I’m not a heating unit person, but I *think* that if I were running a heat unit repair business, I would hope that I would not charge a customer $ 400 for installing a thermostat when the cost to me is closer to $ 100($ 50 for the thermostat + $ 50 for the 15 – 20 minutes to install the thermostat). Again, this seems exorbitant and outrageous to me. And the reason I hadn’t posted this earlier was that, up until a few days ago, I thought Unilocal only had restaraunt reviews.

We(me and a number of my neighbors) call them, «Mistake». They’re terrible! I had an A/C unit that was out of warranty by 2 weeks, and they wouldn’t honor it. I know(for a fact) that service companies can work with manufacturers to honor warranties which have recently expired to provide«good will». Not Mid State. We use«States» H/C… never had a problem.

I have nothing but good things to say about this company. Over the past twenty years they have installed 4 systems for me. Each time the estimates are reasonable and completed professionally and on-time. They show up with fairly large, efficient work crews that get the work done quickly.
