Mary’s Fabulous Chicken & Fish

It’s ok for what it is.
I expected a mom & pop place with great fare. I was hoping for a diamond in the rough. It’s basically a fast food joint that has not been updated in a while.
The taste of the fish was good, but one piece was so rubbery, I couldn’t cut it with a knife. The other piece was ok and the batter was good, although very greasy.
The mashed potatoes are the fake kind with the same yellow gravy that you get at a place like KFC. The coleslaw was good. It all came in a cardboard box similar to KFC with the potatoes and cole slaw in their own little plastic cups.
There is a cooler with a few cans of pop.
Even though there are three tables, it felt more like a carry out place. There are two parking spots in front and probably a couple more around back. It is on Grand River right across from Eternal Tattoos. Don’t blink, you’ll miss it.
The service is friendly. I doubt I am going back but it’s ok for what it is if you like grease on the go, and some people do.

Coleslaw, cod, and the chicken are worth getting. Very tasty! I would recommend

The food is VERY greasy and tastes EXACTLY like KFC for a more expensive price. I would just rather go to KFC, except I don’t like them. I was hoping for a broasted chicken taste instead of fried. Everything was just loaded in grease, not even drained.

Simple and good. This trip we tried the BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Strips, Fried Pickles and the French Fries.

Yep… the chicken IS fabulous. And juicy. And huge. Also has fried green tomatoes and okra. Fish? Yep! That’s good too. This place is so small that you will miss it if you blink your orbs. Nothing fancy mind you but food is terrific. Extremely extensive menu considering how small it is. It is a takeout joint but does have a few booths (2 or 3) should you decide to eat in. I order all my chicken from Mary’s when I have my Euchre/​Poker parties. They do chicken right!!!

My sister always gets a big platter of their chicken for all our family parties. It’s awesome!!!
