Diamond’s Steak & Seafood

Amazing food and experience here. A must go place. My sisters and I were on our way back from attending a couple Tiger games in Detroit. Found this place on Unilocal.The food was to die for. The piece of carrot cake we got for dessert was huge. The owners mother comes in twice a week to make it fresh.

4 ½ Stars! Staff and manager were all pleasant and attentive. Food was amazing. We had filet tip salads, scallops, crab cakes, stroganoff, chicken Madeira. The bechamel in the spinach dip and Mac and cheese was heavenly! Only issue was the kitchen was very slow. Still can’t wait to return!

This place was phenomenal. Kristi our server was terrific. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday, and this being our first time here, she made us feel right at home.
Calamari was great. Then we moved on to the main course. Birthday girl had the filet, and the Parmesan truffle fries, and Brussel sprouts. Unbelievable. We also added a fillet bits skewer which was so good.
I had the dry rubbed ribeye with the Mac n cheese and Baked potato loaded. Everything was perfect.
For dessert we capped the evening off with a slice of carrot cake.
This place looks like it’s run right from top to bottom. Can’t wait to come back.

Great little local find. Service was great. Had to wait a little bit as it is a small place. All kinds of food to order. This meal we started with the toasted Brie. Yum! Hubby ordered the aged ribeye special and it was the best steak we have both eaten in a long time. I had their famous tips and they did not disappoint. Clam chosen was yummy. Brussels sprouts, Mac n cheese, green beans, and sweet potato hash were our sides. Carrot cake is a must and homemade ! Great evening overall. Only negative… They serve Pepsi. If they had Coke products this would be 5 stars.

Came here on a whim with my husband on a Sunday night because he had heard the carrot cake was unbelievable… which it was and the rest of the food didn’t disappoint either! Definitely will be back.

This weekend was our second visit to Diamond’s and it was exceptional both times. The customer service is impeccable. The vibe is upscale casual, but it doesn’t feel fancy. The food is delicious. The mussels are the best I’ve ever had and the steak bites are great.

Well, this place actually lives up to the hype. Went here for the first time after hearing so much about their carrot cake. The hostess actually greeted our party with a smile (something you don’t always get with kids in tow). The waiter was fast and attentive. Our food was delicious. We enjoyed calamari as an appetizer and the sweet chili sauce was amazing! I had the linguine Alfredo w/​chicken + a salad. The ranch dressing was house made and delicious. The linguine was served with homemade noodles, asparagus, zucchini and squash. So good! My husband enjoyed the Great Lakes perch + Mac n cheese and was still talking about how good it was 5 hours later. Also, the BEST carrot cake ever! The carrot cake was free too because of a Unilocal check-​in! We will return!!!

Really great food when we went. Got the muscles appetizer which was very good and reasonably priced. The entrees were great as well, and service was good.

We’ve been coming here for a very long time, and it never disappoints. While there usually is a wait, it is WELL worth it. Our waitress Emily was very attentive and helpful. The steak and seafood is excellent, and whenever we go somewhere else, we usually wish we would have just gone to Diamonds. Don’t hesitate, just go there.

It was our first time visiting this location. We did not have a reservation and it was a Saturday night so the wait was about an hour. Which we did not mind, we headed next door to Clearys Pub for a few drinks while we waited. Once we were seated our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Delicious food it was definitely worth the wait! We also received a free piece of carrot cake that we shared by checking in through Unilocal.That was delicious as well. We will definitely visit Diamonds again. Great place and awesome food!

Amazing food and service each time I go. Wonderful atmosphere and very pleasant staff. Will be back for sure … The carrot cake is amazing!

Return visit. 4 of us. Perfect size group for this tiny, crowded place. Service excellent. Perch tiny but tasty. Scallops very good. Steak special very good. Salmon excellent. Onion soup exceptional. Bread not worth the calories or space. Don’t go without reservations. And whatever you do, don’t leave without eating the carrot cake. I’m not a big fan of carrot cake, but this homemade warm delicacy breaks all the records.

A visit to Howell must include a dinner at Diamond’s. Right on downtown main street, with plenty of parking in the back. A true test of a good restaurant is how they handle a busy crowd and clearly Diamond’s has plenty of experience. I made an 8pm reservation for four people, on a Saturday night, requesting a booth. There is no hostess stand, but walk in the door and someone will greet you promptly. We stood at the bar and had a drink while waiting for a table. A manger said hello and was constantly present and available. The place is small and hard to wait without impeding on diners. (The seating area was full too) I do wish they could expand their dining room.
We have tried something different on each visit and have yet to find something we wouldn’t have again. This visit was Twisted Stroganoff for me. Large portion with tips and mushrooms. Just outstanding. There is a new side on the menu — Thai Green Beans, really nice option. Our friends ordered the calamari for an appetizer. It was just fine, nothing special. The house Cab Sauv is a bit drier and better than the Merlot.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, Food was excellent. Sunday is prime rib day and it was tasty! Give it a try.

This place was fantastic. The mister and I are in town visiting family and we stopped here on our first night. Very nice, cozy atmosphere. The staff was friendly. The brown bread they bring out is delicious and goes so well with the whipped cinnamon butter. We ordered the potato chip appetizer and although good, I did not enjoy the bleu cheese as it was a little too strong for my taste.
The filet mignon tips were out of this world. They were perfectly cooked and very tender. Loved the sweet spicy sauce that came drizzled over them. I had the smashed potatoes and the mushrooms as my side. The potatoes were delicious and the mushrooms were good although a little bit greasy. My mister had the roasted red skin potatoes and the mac and cheese. Again, the potatoes were very good, as was the mac and cheese. It was a huge portion though so we had to take some home.
We checked in on Unilocal and got the free carrot cake. It was very good and a very generous portion. Both of us were able to share the portion. We will definitely be back to Diamonds.

We love this place. And my daughter and I don’t even like steak. Service is great food is excellent. Carrot cake is worth the trip itself.

We love this restaurant. Our trip for dinner yesterday, however, was disappointing. We drive all the way to Howell from Lansing just to eat here. Sunday night, the restaurant was not full. We were seated right away. The restaurant was HOT. Uncomfortably so. The thermostat above our table registered 77, and we were all in a full sweat within minutes of being seated. The usual impeccable service was lackluster. We were not given a wine list, and had to ask for refills on our water continually. Most of the food was good, but it came out of the kitchen in dribbles. It took a full five minutes for everyone to get their food, so the first plate served was cold by the time everyone had their food. My filet was excellent; however, all three of the strips we ordered were much thinner cut than usual.
Overall, for what we spend to eat here, it was very disappointing this time.

We’ve been here only twice, both times for brunch. After getting the biscuits and gravy a few weeks ago, I had to go back today. Best B&G I’ve ever had! So, today we went and our food came out quickly, but my biscuits were raw. I let our server know, the manager came over, apologized, replaced my meal, all within about 10 minutes. Great service, great food, good prices, can’t wait to return for dinner!

Diamond’s is a Howell institution, and deservedly so. The food is consistently above average and the service is pretty good, considering they’re usually packed.
That being said, it’s also not inexpensive and, I find, unless you are a straight-​up steak fan, you’ll tire of the limited menu options after a few visits. It’s also a tad cramped and dark for some diners’ tastes.
Diamond’s is among Howell’s best eateries. Unfortunately Howell could use a few more diverse dining choices.

Just had an amazing dining experience at Diamonds! My party ordered the calamari appetizer, and for entrees scallops, crab cakes and white fish, which were all cooked to perfection. The sides included Cesar salad, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts, which all tasted fantastic. As for the wine, beautiful! Felino Malbec and Decoy Cabernet. For desert we had Diamonds’ famous carrot cake. I am not a huge sweets eater, but wow!!! It was amazing! To top it off, we had superb service by Emily! Thank you, Emily for an amazing dining experience! Well done, Diamonds! Looking forward to more dining experiences with you!!!
