The owner Eyad is most customer friendly person you will find. He has a great smile and makes you feel welcome in their bakery. They have a small selection of ME herbs and sweets. The prices are reasonable. Improvements needed in the following area: The bread is too thick and when it dries, it loses its good taste. I would make the bread thiner. Restaurant is disorganized. I don’t know why they even have one. Parking is difficult outside the store. Limited parking available. The patio outside is way under utilized.

Well, its certainly a bargain. My coworker brought me here for lunch today and ordered 6… yes 6 of the muddle eastern pizzas(?). It’s almost like a fragrant veggie omelet with ground beef baked into a thick pita bread. I don’t know how else to describe it lol. I ate two of them and at only $ 2.50 each, they were rather filling. My coworker ate 4 and he is half my size. Smh. They do have a wide array of baked goodies and sweet desserts and endless jars of olives.

The Followers Of Islam are so business minded, believe in pleasing the customer, and are so peaceful! They are approachable too but please be humble and modest with it ok! The food and baked goods are 100 percent quality! One of faves… Eggplant Parmesan is made with Zeyad Spices… very tasty! I am from Chicago of course and I love how they make Gyros… just like at home! My daughter loves the Manakish… I do a LOT of grocery business with them… they keep my cupboard STOCKED!

I’m easily distracted driving around neighborhoods with lots of ethnic dining and grocery stores. This was just a spontaneous stop in. See Zeyad, Arabic writing, hit the brakes, pull in, walk in. Zeyad is a small restaurant and bakery, but I only hit up the latter. When I went on a Friday afternoon, there wasn’t a big variety of breads fresh out of the oven. Pita and what looked like pretzel rods. I picked up some pita bread, which I am munching on now with some home made hummus as I write this. It’s fresh and I have no complaints. There was a wider selection of sweets that were already bagged and ready to go. I can’t attest to the freshness, but they looked good, just not good for my diet right now. Baklava, cookies, and other smaller pastries. They also carry a small amount of groceries you may need for cooking Mediterranean food. I picked up a jar of grape leaves in addition to the bread. I love dolmades. The theory is that I will google a recipe and make some at home. If I use the entire jar, 56 of them apparently. Who wants some dolmades?

I’m fresh off a meal at Zeyad and let me assure you… if you are worried about small portions, don’t. I ordered the kafta kabob plate that came with a side of rice(huge portion), grilled tomatoes and fresh pita bread. For my side(you get to pick one), I ordered the foul(beans). It was delicious and very filling. The owner was extremely friendly, as well. The bakery side of Zeyad offers fresh breads, sweets and a variety of Middle Eastern products. The restaurant side is much more spartan but the food shines through.

The Za’atar manakish(think pizza with herbs) was fantastic. It comes straight from their giant bakery ovens. Order some hummus to try their fantastic varieties of breads. The service was extremely friendly too!
