YEE: Diamonds & Dessert at Robbins Brothers

Like the song says, «a kiss on the hand may be quite continental, but DIAMONDS are a girl’s best friend.» So true, and I’m so glad I got to indulge my girlie side and drool over all of the gorgeous bling in the Robbins Brothers store!
I got to chat with the friendly staff, tried on a few rings and baubles, and I even snagged a swag bag. I like swag!!! :)
Deep Eddy Vodka kept us all feeling mellow, and there were light bites offered by PF Chang’s and Maggiano’s. Yum! There was even a little lounge area close to the PF Chang’s table with a TV tuned to the sports channel. I noticed a few of you fellas hanging back and letting your ladies drool over the jewels while y’all enjoyed the «guy’s lounge». (That’s what it was, right???) Don’t worry, I’m not naming names! ;)
My favorite part was probably the photo booth. Who doesn’t enjoy grabbing silly props and hamming it up for the camera?!
Overall, kudos to Farrah to another fun event. I’m definitely looking forward to the next one!

What a great way to spend a Sunday evening! Chatting with fellow Unilocalers, eating delicious bites and desserts… what’s this? We get to try on sparkly things too? Yes please! This event was beautifully organized and executed, from checking in to the general flow of the event itself. The food/​drink stations were situated at different areas of the show room, but were placed to allow people to float around and mingle without crashing into one another. There were goodie bags, and a fun photo booth– a great souvenir! I had a great time at this event, and it was fun to try on jewelry and learn about how Robbins Brother’s works. Thank you Farrah & Unilocal team for organizing, and thanks to Robbins Brother’s for hosting!

First and foremost, thank you Farrah for pulling off yet another wonderful event. Even though it’s only been my third, I’ve grown to expect Unilocal events that are fun, chic, and seemingly effortless. The lighting was perfect, and there was a smooth flow in the store for mingling and eating our small bites.
Robbins Brothers was a beautiful venue filled with the most beautiful jewelry I’ve ever seen. Tim, the associate that was helping us, told us so many things we didn’t know about Robbins Brothers. I think we’ll be back when we reach our milestone anniversaries.
Another thing to expect at Unilocal events are yummy adult beverages. We enjoyed The Ruby and The Deep Eddy Vodka with the added Topo Chico, and the lemon splash, our favorite. The bartender was fun and made great tasting drinks.
The small bites from Maggiano’s, PF Changs, and Nothing Bundt cakes offered were all delicious. We were lucky enough able to try the delicious cakes before they were all gone.
Make A Face Photo Booth was one of the better photo booths we’ve been in. They had a large selection of props, gave four photos to one strip, and even offered magnets.
Overall an awesome event. Can’t wait for the next one. Thanks again Farrah!

I absolutely loved this Event! for many reasons…
#1 Unilocal event– This was a great event for me to leave my neck of the woods and given a reason to make a far drive. I love to look at different designer pieces for both men and women, the delish finger foods and the awesome bartender serving tasty drinks! BTW the Photo booth was right on the dot, so much fun with great memories to make!
#2 the Jewelry Biz– Coming from a person that has been in the jewelry industry for the last 7 years, it is nice to see first hand what is out there as our competition. For the first time, I was relaxed having a great time to look at engagement rings without being pressured to do so.
#3 the People– So 7 years is a long time, yes so of course you get to meet a lot of people in the industry which of course I had two of my great friends not only hosting for Unilocal but simply catch up! Both Melissa and Julie are long-​time friends so this event was a perfect double-​whammy to attend the event and see friends! I love you gals!
#4 the «other» people– Am I competitive? HECK YES! But these sales people are very knowledgeable, seriously, take my word! I couldn’t believe that there was more people out there whose customer service is their priority! I almost felt like walking out of there for a new ring, and I just started dating! lol
#5 FOOD!- thank you Maggiano’s, I will now be adding you onto my list to visit, P.F. Changs, thanks for being a great sport at your Asian fusion food, My best friend Nothing Bunts Cakes for being there for me even in my time of misery, and last but not least Deep Eddy Vodka for making this event less awkward with my boyfriend of only a week! Over all I enjoyed the finger food!
#6 gifts– I loved our little gifts! The Blingy pen, the humorous ring pop, the dainty elegant bracelet, Vodka Chapstick, and the slightly awkward coaster that I have placed on my boyfriend’s side table.
overall I loved this event! Of course I went off to visit my jewelry store companions and talked about the well-​being of my friends at Robbin’s Brothers, the different styles of rings, the food, etc.

I really enjoyed the event! The light bites from Maggiano’s, PF Chang’s, and Nothing Bundt Cakes were very tasty and never in short supply, which was great. The photo booth was really nice, and the individuals working that booth made sure to print out four copies for a picture with four people — definitely a huge plus! The line for drinks was never absurdly long, and the staff at Robbins Bros was truly excellent. I was able to take a look at and try on a couple of different pieces, and it was definitely nice to have that experience.
Although I didn’t win the raffles (:-[), they were awesome as well. Overall an excellent event — one of the best I’ve been to!

This event was quite cute! From the photo booth to the friendly staff, it was fun to check out the Robbins Brothers store and enjoy a few snacks and tasty drinks from Deep Eddy Vodka. The Topo Chico sparking water was a great mixer, and the drinks came with adorable blue & white straws.
We had a good time walking around and chatting with other Unilocalers. I was curious about the production process of the engagement rings, so when one of the staff members wasn’t sure how to answer my question, he quickly found someone else on the team for me to talk to. I appreciated their willingness to humor my curiosity, and ended up learning quite a few fun facts about rings.

I was not exactly sure what to expect with a YEE located at an engagement ring store, but I guess the choice was appropriate, with it being wedding season and all. Guess it would have been even better if my boyfriend was in town to be my +1, haha.
This was a very fun event with good but limited food options. All of the Robbins Bros. employees were very welcoming, joyful, fun, and helpful. What I liked best about them was that they were not pushing diamond sales as I was afraid they might when I RSVP’d to this event. Rather, they just offered themselves as available with help and knowledge if we needed it.
Upon entering, Elites received a raffle ticket, which could be exchanged for a goodie bag. That goodie bag was generous! There was a cute «Mr & Mrs» coaster, a sparkly pen/​stylus, a ring pop (haha, the ’90’s), and-​best of all– a sparkly bracelet! Too cute.
The food was delicious but limited. Maggiano’s offered meatballs in marinara sauce and bruschetta. The bruschetta was very good and offered a unique twist. The topping was a collection of the standard tomatoes and basil, but mixed in some olives and onions and maybe something else. The chicken lettuce wraps from P.F. Chang’s were DELICIOUS! The servers were very generous with their scoops. The filling was a mixture of seasoned ground chicken, mushrooms, and green onions. It was full of umami thanks to the mushrooms and soy sauce. It was delicious. I ate at P.F. Chang’s once when I was young and thought it was pretty bad. They have stepped up their game. This sampler was a real eye-​opener and makes me want to try P.F. Chang’s again. That lettuce wrap, dang, it was good. BUT, there were very limited vegetarian options. My +1 is pescetarian, so she was limited to eating the bruschetta, lettuce (minus the chicken, the best part!), and the bundt cakes. I think in the future, it would be good to offer half/​half meat and veg options.
The drinks provided by Deep Eddy Vodka are always on point! They were made even better by our fabulous bartender, who was just adorable in that blue polka dot dress. She was super fun and made delicious drinks. She was out of the sangria for the cran-​gria cocktail, so she mixed Cranberry Deep Eddy with the Tropi-​coco Red Bull. It was soo good. I had to get two of these. I never drink Red Bull but this mixed drink with it was awesome.
The photo booth was so much fun. It had a good selection of props and the photos came out quick and good quality.
I admit that I did not look at diamonds much; I w as there for the food, drink, and fun. Overall, this was a fun event, not too crowded, with enough food (but not enough selection of food in terms of vegetarian options), with fantastic bar service, and a fun crowd (as usual!).

I love going to Unilocal elite events, they are always so much fun! The main attractions which were desserts and diamonds were very enticing and fun to eat and look at respectively. I also really liked the photobooth, it’s nice that they print out more than one set!
However, I did have a few issue. I have noticed not just at this Unilocal event, but at many others, there are very few (if any) vegetarian options. In the future I hope events will have vegetarian options as well! Also parking sucked :(. But it was fun all in all.

Engagement ring stores are intimidating for many reasons. One: you don’t want to come off as pressuring any significant other. Two: you don’t want to be pressured to buy outside your budget. Being a single woman, I have no worries of experiencing either, but ring stores remain intimidating: they make me face singlehood square in the eye.
This is why this YEE was even more fun. It lowered the barrier of entry to a commonly-​and-​understandably scary place. Great selection, Farrah :)
And what a fun and inviting place Robbins Bros is! The salespeople are friendly and helpful. They really see themselves as lifetime partners in the venture of all ring-​related decisions and apply no sales pressures to shoppers or each other. This is a rare and good thing. I walked away learning the design of the ring I would like to wear one day :) Thanks Farrah and Robbins Bros for a great event!

This was my first opportunity to attend a Unilocal Elite Event, and I’m glad I (we) did. It was a great experience.
The alcoholic beverages (Deep Eddy Vodka) were great (may need to buy some now.). The desserts were good (Nothing Bunt Cakes) and the other food options looked good, though I didn’t try them (PF Changs and Maggiano’s Little Italy). It was nice having so many different options.
The photo booth was a nice/​fun touch as were the free goodie bags and giveaways. Hopefully many elite events are as good as this one, because it definitely motivated me to attend more in the future!
Thanks to Farrah for organizing a great event (and for offering ponchos to those that left when it was storming outside), and to Robbins Brothers for hosting.

The conversation «How many of you single male Elites signed up for the Robbins brothers event?» made me question my decision on making this my first Unilocal Elite Event, but I brought one of my bros and ended up pretty happy that I went.
From what I’ve read, the venue is pretty atypical for a YEE, but I think it was really interesting strolling along the cases of rings, discussing with Robbins Brothers employees what to consider when buying.
Heck, being single was great for this event (I feel like this sounds sad, but I promise I’m not upset about it!) — there was no pressure to pick out a ring, yet I still learned a lot about what to focus on and random tidbits of information about engagement rings/​wedding bands. Shoutout to RB’s David and Suzy for treating us kindly!
The food and drink options were phenomenal! I went to school in Austin, so I’m quite familiar with Deep Eddy — Hannah poured great drinks, and who doesn’t love Topo Chico! — and the Maggiano’s, PF Chang’s, and Nothing Bundt Cakes were all delicious. And who doesn’t love a photo booth! It’s the perfect souvenir, in addition to the goodie bag.
Thank you to Farrah and all of the vendors for putting on a fantastic event — I’m excited for what’s to come with future YEEs!

Technically I can’t get married in this state so I was just here for the socializing and the food. Also I learned that these rings shimmer to the point I almost got a seizer. The Bling here is on point. I really didn’t know what to expect at this event seeing that I had no interest in jewelry. We all walk but the staircase and everything just sparkles on your face right off the bat. I mean, this shit is shiny. But then I look to my right and I see meatballs. My interest immediately shifts. The meatballs were delicious and had extra sauce on the side which was a big plus. But in the far back, directly under the «true love sign» was the vodka. Vodka is my true love. We met back when I was 21 and it has been working out ever since. I mean we have had our tough times in the past but what relationship has it. Being around all these rings made me truley confident that vodka and I will grow old together…(Har Har)
The deep eddy vodka wasn’t your regular open bar. It was basically flavored vodka on the rocks. I usually drink the grapefruit version all the time when I go out so I got that most of the night but then I saw that the girl in front of me got something different. She got the cranberry version with some lemon flavored red bull and it was like the best punch I have ever had. At that point I just got that.
The PF Changs table made me a happy fat kid. They had my favorite lettuce wraps ever. I got so excited that I went buck wild with the chili paste and quickly regretted that decision in the first bite. But I love spicy and it still tasted amazing.
I also got my goodie bag on the side of the store. There were some cute items like a coaster that said mr and mrs but I had to scratch out the S since I’m of Rainbow Decent. MY favorite thing in the bag was that pen. Not only was it filled with sparkly faux diamonds but it had this squishy black thing on the top. I was talking with one of the employees about it and he blew my mind. The top of the pen was a stylist. I pretty much used that stylist the rest of the night. It was like showing a caveman a laser except it just made me feel old for not knowing what it was.
The photobooth was a very good touch to the evening. I was all about the props and my plus one wasn’t. Since he couldn’t make a decision I made him wear the squid hat. It was fun except we are both 6 ft and up so we had to crouch down like dainty lil sorority girls posing for a group pic.
The best thing in the world was the dessert from Anything Bunt Cakes… OMG forget cupcakes these little bunt cakes need to be in my life as much as vodka. They were so (for lack of a better word that doesn’t make me cringe) moist. Like perfectly moist. My fav was chocolate because Im chunky and tried all of them. It was no surprise they were gone within the hour they put them out.
It was a wonderful evening even with the ominous Armageddon clouds rolling in. I would like to thank the employees especially Vincent and Breanna, they made the event for me. If legislation passes and I am given the option to marry in this state, and if I ever need a ring, then I will def come back here.

Since I pass this this location all of the time, and having a curiosity to see what this place had to offer, I was appreciative of this Unilocal event. Looking at the merchandise, it was helpful that there were sales associates who were very cordial and assisted with any questions I had to ask. Being in the Galleria Area, I assumed this store only sold top-​of-​the-​line jewelry, but I was surprised that they are able to go as low as around $ 300 for an engagement ring to whatever one would desire.
You enter the door and you’re in the Lobby. To get to the merchandise, take the steps or the elevators to get to the second floor. You will likely be greeted by a sales representative who will assist you as you browse around. My experience was that they were nice, helpful, and not pushy. This is something I greatly appreciate when I walk into any store, so big points! For those men who like to kick back while their lady looks around, have no fear. There’s a big screen area where you can do like me and some other guys did; watch the basketball game.
The experience is even in the restroom. Straight ahead, when using the restroom, there’s a piece of writing that mentions this being the «last chance» to get away for those not sure about purchasing a wedding ring. It’s funny, and I recommend first-​timers read it in the photos section of this Unilocal event page.
Their staff is diverse, their jewelry’s quality is top-​of-​the line, and they are in a very convenient location. I’d recommend, if you want to look for an engagement ring or whatnot, try them.
Why do I give this event three stars as opposed to something else? No vegan options. Alcohol was alright though. Wish I saw more Unilocalers I am familiar with from other events, but no biggie. Those of us who showed enjoyed each others’ company. The place gets four stars from me, but the event gets only three.

This was a fun and fabulous event. Although, I am in not in the market for a wedding or engagement ring, I am attracted to shiny things. It was interesting to see how styles have changed over the years. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful! In addition to wedding/​engagement rings, the store does have a small section of jewelry in their «After the I Do’s» area.
Deep Eddy did amazing job as always with drinks. I had never considered mixing my drinks with Topo Chic, but I will be from now on! Maggiano’s meatball and bruschetta was a nice bite. PF Chang’s lettuce wraps were a little messy, but still delicious. Of course the Bundtinis were a big hit! After all, who doesn’t like desserts and diamonds!

What an interesting place to hold an Official Unilocal Elite event!
This event was actually held at a jewelry store. The event was at Robbins Brothers and I did not research the actual venue beforehand. I just plus 1’d and didn’t think twice about my decision!
On comes the event and after a pain free check in the identified me as an Elite and not the plus 1, as well as put my name down for raffles to come, I walked up some steps to find myself in a jewelry store. My plus 1 is a lady, and we walk pass people that are hawking engagement wears and books! What did God wroth upon me?!?
Unfazed by such a predicament, I immediately scouted the area. To my immediate right was Maggiano’s Little Italy with meatballs, extra marinara sauce and bread with fresh salsa like toppings. To my left was Make A Face Photo booth with many accessories to make your photos as zany as you would like them. 4 photos each time you entered the booth. North of the photo booth were the gift bags for the first 75 attendees which included snazzy pen and a bracelet. To the North of that was Nothing Bunt Cakes that had a variety of flavors of bite sized bunt cakes. To the Northeast of them was Deep Eddy Vodka creating a variety of multicolored spirits to tantalize those who actually partake in such an occasion. To the East of them was PF Changs with eggrolls, which went really quickly, and lettuce chicken wraps with many different sauces to customize the eating experience.
I will not bore you with the details of me making a food triangular path to nibble often from these many generous sponsors, but know that I did not leave hungry. The service was top notched, and the Robbins Brothers staff was actually respectful enough to allow you to eat before they truly turned up the heat on you and your un-​ringed plus 1!
I found this business to actually cater to all budgets, with engagement rings starting at $ 300. They have quality only, so this will not be a bad place to visit when I decide to get back in the marriage squared circle.
All in all, great venue that Farrah put together. I am quite surprised that a place like this would have such a thing, but I am glad that Unilocal provided me with another unique dining and educational experience. I would also like to note that I did win the grand prize raffle of a nice Tacori necklace. I would also like to note that my plus 1 now has a nice Tacori necklace. Final note, my plus 1 is happy I brought her!

Now this is my kind of event. My poor boyfriend gets the distinct pleasure of being in a relationship with the duchess of Robbins brothers, so naturally I jumped at the chance to bring him as my +1 to this fabulous event.
The Robbins Brothers staff were absolutely wonderful at this event. They were so good they even had my bf trying on their meteorite wedding bands. And aside from the diamond intoxication, Deep Eddy was a wonderful sponsor as usual. The lettuce wraps from PF Chang’s were delicious and the meatballs from Maggianos reminded me that I need to make a trip back there.
When it was time to leave, it was pouring rain, but the ever prepared Farrah provided Unilocal ponchos (!!!) to those with a walk.

Today’s event was evidence that it doesn’t take a lot of food or drinks to make a good event. When I first saw the invite I was hesitant, ya know a single guy hanging out solo at an engagement ring store-​but I’m glad I went. At first it was a tad weird wondering around by myself at this event which seemed to be mostly couples. Not to mention I’m sure I was totally awkward around the first two Unilocalers I tried to make small talk with (I won’t name names, but they know who they are!)
As I made my rounds and made small talk with some of the employees from Robbins Brothers the vibe changed. Everyone was super friendly and once I stared talking with Krystal this event totally changed gears. She went through a quick lessons on diamonds and I got to ask her a bunch of random questions. I learned a lot about diamonds, and got to look at them under both a loop and a microscope. After about 30 minutes I could tell the differences (Clarity, Color, Carat, Cut) between various diamonds without any tools at all as I walked through the store. I also learned about Mêlée diamonds (aka the little ones around the big one) and other tips and tricks if I’m ever in the market.
Meanwhile it was also neat to try some of the new flavored vodkas from Deep Eddy. Holly was a great bartender and even remembered me from a Unilocal event from about six months ago! I enjoyed this event way more than I expected to, props for having a rather unique venue for this YEE that really worked out well.

I don’t always get opportunities to attend Unilocal Elite Events (YEE) due to my work schedule; but when I do, I RSVP and go!
This is my third YEE and every single one that I’ve been to had been amazing, tons of fun, and nicely organized. Great job and thank you, Farrah! Thus, I knew this one would be just as great, fun, and amazing, and I was right.
I’ve never been to Robbins Brothers before so this event also gave me the opportunity to see what this place has to offer in terms of engagement rings so I can make a mental note for my «Dear Future Husband». Once you walk into the building, there is a staircase on your left taking you up to all the display cases. They have many different brands ranging from Echo to Tacori. One thing that bothered me was that all their stones in the display cases are CZs. I understand the intent is for customers to pick the setting first, the diamond second so the stones merely serve as placeholders. Not really my cup of tea since I’d like to see the final product, but… to each their own! Despite that disappointment, all the sales associates were extremely helpful and nice and offered to show me everything my heart desired.
Once you reach the top of the staircase, the Maggiano’s booth was on the right serving meatballs and bruschetta (as well as some peppermint candy to freshen up your breath). In the back there is a waiting area and that was where the PF Chang’s booth and the Deep Eddy Vodka booth were located. To the left of the waiting area was the table filled with mini bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes in all their classic flavors ready to satisfy everyone’s sweet craving. Behind the left display case against the wall was where all the goodie bags were waiting to be picked up — filled with ring pops, pens filled with bling, tennis bracelets, and cute coasters! Adorable!
I was really curious to see how the food vendors would be set up, but it was done very tastefully (no pun intended). The number of invitees was perfect — the place was not empty but also not crowded. There was always enough food for everyone and barely any lines. It was perfect. Sometimes crowds and lines can make or break an event, but this was not an issue. Well done, Farrah et al, and thank you for the invite!
Bling bling!

If we gave one word reviews, my word would be Epic! I do not get to attend many Unilocal Events due to my schedule, but in comparison to the ones I have attended so far in the past four years, this one tops them all. Granted, a single woman coming to an engagement jewelry store may provide some awkwardness, but then again, let’s convert back to our childhood and play dress up – this time with real diamonds! Sounds fun to me!
Robbins Brothers provides a slew of selection that would satisfy many taste, but just in case you’re one of the few who have exceptional and specific requests, Robbins Brothers can accommodate that as well. Several consultants explained to me that RB has its own in house master jewelers who can create a ring for you according to your specs and price range. If you find a ring you like from a certain maker but wish to make some modifications, that can also be arranged.
Robbins Brothers consultants also explained how they educate and support their consumers from concierge services to personalized rooms to create an intimate experience creating and checking the quality of the ring purchased. I was really impressed by the attention all the consultants gave my plus one and I at this event – educating us in the selection and services that Robbins Brothers delivers to their customers. If I was an actual customer, I know I would receive the same attention and care as I did at the event.
Besides checking out the RB showroom and trying on a ring or two, the event was very whimsical and free flowing. Adult Beverages from Deep Eddy Vodka were being sipped continually throughout the evening, but nonalcoholic drinkers were considered as well and given a coffee bar and access to bottles water to quench their thirst. As far as lite bites, several made the cut: Nothing Bundt Cakes were devoured by the first half hour to satisfy one’s sweet tooth while PF Chang’s provided complimentary chicken lettuce wraps, which were fresh and satisfying. They even provided fortune cookies to complete the lite bite experience. Maggiono’s Bruschetta was okay, but felt more like a huge croûton in my mouth.. . Luckily I had a drink to wash down the crunchy creation.
For kicks, a photo booth by Make Face Booths complete with props were available for us to get silly and remember the event. Since silly is my middle name, wearing a red pimp hat was definetly up my alley!
The only situation that concerned me was the parking. Supposedly the crowd at RB’s tonight is a typical Saturday crowd who park wherever they fit in. As long as my car didn’t get towed, I was sold on parking on the curb next to the Chevron station. There is a parking garage nearby, but wearing heels and walking back to the garage at night is not happening.
All in all, a great event hosted by people who really love their job. I’m glad I came and not only got educated on a future ring purchase, I had a fantastic time sharing the experience with a friend. Thanks Farrah and the Unilocal community for being so welcoming and hospitable. We’ll have to do it again soon!
