DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMOSTIMPORTANTLYYOURMONEY. This salon has changed locations. Now located in the 12000 block of Westhiemer. I purchased a Groupon(upon for a Brazilian Blowout. It took me 6 or so phone calls to an answering maching before Sonia(the only stylist) returned my call. She was RUDE and IMPATIENT. For my first appointment at 10:00am SHEDIDNOTSHOWUP until 10:30a and was bent out of shape that I would not return to the salon. Said she would not honor my Groupon. I agreed to come the next day. My hair is thick, long and wavy. I ask… «how long with the blow out take?». Sonia said one hour. I should have cut bait and run. I know a straightening, I’ve had 4 previous. Two costing upwards of $ 500 and each taking about 4 or 5 hours(lunch was ordered for me it takes so long). Anyway, I had my blow out with Sonia. She bitched about the world the whole time. I tried to stay neutral in my opinions as she had my hair in her hands. I could not get out of there fast enough. Yep! It only took her an hour to paint some stuff in my hair, blow out my hair and touch up with a flat iron. Nothing like my previous processes at other BETTERSALONS(Upper Hand or Sensia). I know better then to wash my hair. She said 2 days. I do not wash for a week. Yes, a full 7 days. Within the second week and second washing with specialized no sulphate conditioning cleanser(I do not use shampoo) MYBLOWOUTWASGONE!!! SONIADOESNOTKNOWWHATSHEISDOING. Beware, in one year this salon has been known as Wish, Uptown Salon and now Royal Escape Salong(with a current Groupon). It is a one seat salon with one stylist, Sonia. Again, BEWAREDONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY. I would love it if Unilocal would offer a negative rating. Sonia and Wish/Uptown/Royal Escape would receive a negative 5 stars.

Any positive reviews are probably for the closed location on Katy Fwy — which was apparently a big salon with many stylists and services. Apparently they moved, but the only thing«moved» was the salon name — there is one gal named Sonia and her answering machine in a small room with two stations and one sink. I bought the blowout, a cut, and the oil treatment. She told me that there was no point in having both the Moroccan and the Brazilian, that the deal should have said one or the other, and it was a mistake on Bloomspots part. She scheduled me for the Brazilian Blowout. I asked about having the oil treatment later, or if she could provide another service of comparable value. She basically declined to provide both services to me and said the only option I had was to give the Moroccan treatment to a friend. Lets see — really hard time getting a hold of her, always, and went(or tried to go) to the Katy Fwy address. She gave me the worst directions ever and it took me an additional 40 minutes just to find the place. Part of this is because it is in a fairly new building without signage. So I get in, already having used my entire extended lunch break, and she is doing a blowout on someone else. We both have to wait as she goes back and forth between us. There is no wait time on the treatment, so basically she was wasting our time by scheduling us at the same time. After about 25 minutes I was done — wash, put treatment in hair, blow dry, wash, and done. I said I wanted a cut too but she said I didn’t need one — I actually had purchased that but she sort of blew me off, and as late as I was getting back to work, I figured I’d come back for it. She told me it would last three months(so why could I not then have the Moroccan treatment???), to not shampoo for three days, and to not use and drugstore shampoo(with sulphates). I was feeling pretty uneasy about all of this, but still had hopes I would get the results that everyone pays the big bucks for. After three days I washed with sulphate free shampoo, and my hair was a frizzy mess. Worse than when I went in! I did a little more research(too late) and found that the real Brazilian Blowout does not require a three-day wait, and there is a sealing«masque» that I didn’t get. I called the BB headquarters and they were very helpful. «Wish» on Katy was listed as an authorized salon, but Sonya herself was not listed. They said I definitely did not get the whole treatment and asked if I had seen the product(I did not). I am really disappointed to see Bloomspot(as well as the others) offering this deal again. By the way, they made the same«mistake» again. Yeah, right. What a waste of time, money, energy, gas, etc — and hair that is now worse off. I hope the word gets spread well enough to protect others from this — scam? Maybe she is just unprofessional — but either way, it’s not right.

I went to WIsh Salon while in town for my friends wedding. The staff was very courteous and the salon provided fruit and mimosas for the wedding party. They made sure they were staffed for the party size and we all had a amazing time.

Just don’t bother. I got a daily deal for this place, but never got it honored. I got a refund instead. The reason why I got the refund is I just felt as if they salon did not care about the customers(me). They scheduled me after I left two messages. When they returned my call, Sonia had a slight attitude or was agitated. Initially, I just thought perhaps she is really busy, and maybe stressed out. I just kind of put it in the back of my mind. She called to later confirm the appointment. She wanted to reschedule the time for an earlier slot. That was fine. I made arrangements to go the new appointed time. Apparently, they’ve moved. I cannot recall if Sonia conveyed if they had moved or not when she confirmed my appointment. I think I would have remembered if she had said, «Wish is at a new location We haven’t updated it on the internet site,» or something like that. So I showed up at the old location confused. I called a few times, but no one seems to answer immediately. Sonia called me back, and gave me the new location. It’s 12350 Westheimer, 77077. She failed to tell me the suite number or inform me that they didn’t have signage up. They rescheduled me for the next day at 9AM. My problem is that I went there to look for the new location so I wouldn’t get lost again, but it was not marked as Wish. It was Uptown Salon or something like that. I stopped in finally to ask because it was really confusing. The receptionist did not apologize, but made excuses for their poor communication skills. She told me they were going to get a sign, that they did call, and gave me the new address. She was not rude, but just unapologetic. I just felt that she was unprofessional, and Sonia did not leave a good impression when I spoke with her either. All anyone has to say is I’m sorry for the inconvenience, and be kind. I really didn’t want to be a bitch. But I’m not driving back to this place when the young ladies don’t know how to speak with a little bit of kindness, and respect. I’m not interested in forming or forging a new relationship with a salon unless they want to treat me with common courtesy. I’m sure someday I’ll find a great salon in Houston. Wish is not that salon.

I went to this salon after reading the reviews on citysearch and because I had purchased a livingsocial deal. I must say the salon was super cute from the inside! If you google it, you will be able to see a glimpse of the inside. My stylist was Sania and she did an AMAZING job on my brazilian blowout! My hair are not frizzy anymore! they are shinier and manageable. Sania is very sweet and def a great person to have a chat with. I will be returning for sure!

Very unprofessional place. My first appointment was cancelled the day of because the stylist went home sick. When I did get in, the stylist, Mike, was a complete over-sharer. I knew details about his love life and everything else as he would NOTSTOPTALKING. At one point he did say«ok… must stop talking… need to focus» to himself and 1 minute later he was blabbing again. He also kept talking about beauty school and how another stylist taught him how to do a bob. It was as if he went to school yesterday, did not pass, and had to get someone to teach him. I was super scared to even have this man touch my hair so I went with just a trim, though I was going to do much more. My bob was uneven so I had to fix it myself at home. The other stylist/receptionist flat ironed my hair and I think she was too rough or it was too hot because my hair looked more damaged after the cut than before. The place was dirty, some light bulbs were out, and they locked the door as if it was a bad part of town after sunset.

I had a living social certificate. My hair stylist was nice and pleasant. The décor is nice. It was hard to make a appointment even though i waited a month and a half to call. Minus 1 star. I would come back here if the location was not so far out.

The first time I went to Wish was after a Groupon was offered. It was a great deal($ 80 worth for $ 30). I randomly got Mike assigned as my hairstylist and he did a phenomenal job. I went in with a picture of Mandy Moore with a medium length haircut(I have a round face so I thought I should emulate a haircut from someone else with a round face) and I absolutely LOVED my haircut when he was done. I hadn’t had my hair professionally cut in a salon for 7 years(my sister would just trim it and/or layer it and give me bangs as she pleased and I was fine with that). I went back last week and requested Mike again and was VERY pleased when he was done. I had waited a couple of months(I didn’t go in after 6 weeks like most salons recommend) and as soon as I pulled out a picture of Mandy Moore again, he knew exactly who I was and what haircut I wanted. I admitted to him that I’d bought a rounded hairbrush after I saw the magic he had worked on my hair the first time with it, but I had not had much success using it. He then showed me how to use it and even let me try a couple of times with his hand guiding mine so I could understand how it’s supposed to be done properly. Loved everything about both times I went there and Mike was definitely the best hairstylist I’ve ever had.

I bought a Living Social coupon deal to Wish Studios. You can choose a total of 3 different services for $ 30, a really good deal! But of course as I’ve learned my lesson from these spa type places that offer discount deals and such, the salon is usually overwhelmed after they offer something like this. I waited a few months to use my coupon but even so, making an appointment with them was difficult and exasperating. I had to call way too many times before I could make my first appointment. CONS Day 1 — I was put on hold and it took awhile so I hung up and tried calling another day. Day 2 — I got their answering machine so I left a message and number. No one ever called back. Day 3 — they said they were having difficulties with their scheduling system and asked if I could call back in 30 min. OK… called back and they said the system was down for the day. Day 4 — called and they asked me to leave my name and number to call me back.(I was really skeptical at this point thinking I’ll just have to call back again later) but thank goodness someone really called me back this time and I made my haircut appointment. But bad news came along with that, they no longer had a nail technician and don’t know when or if they will again.(I believe, they are just now offering nail services again) They have limited staff here since it is a small place, so you aren’t able to schedule a massage, haircut, and pedicure all on the same day like the Living Social Deal required. Because of this, they extended the deal for you to use 3 different times and longer expiration date. PROS I really loved the décor in person as seen on their website! Receptionist was friendly made conversation with me. Stylist(Amanda) took a reasonable amount of time, I didn’t feel rushed. OK Actual haircut falls under here. I have really thick hair and asked her to thin it out after chopping off about 6 inches. She said it will be after she puts a lot of texture in it. Afterwards it was still thick, so I asked if she can thin it some more. She said she already put a lot of texture in it, but she can put more if I wanted after she flat irons it. I don’t really know what texture does, but it certainly doesn’t thin out hair… at least not on me. At about the same time, I realized that there was going to be no shampoo as told over the phone. Since they didn’t shampoo in the beginning, I assumed it was going to be at the end. But right when she started using the flat iron on me, I realized no shampoo. At this point, I didn’t even bother saying anything. For a cut that was normally $ 35, I’d rather get it done somewhere else without going through all the hassle of scheduling and having someone understand me when I ask for thinned out next time. * I tried to put my haircut under an «ok» section. But after writing that, I”d say 2.5 if I could, but I’ll be generous and put 3. I understand plp have diff things done at salons that can affect the outcome. I really love the décor and environment, but it just doesn’t pull through enough. Maybe after I try the pedicure it will bump it up some! I
