So I gotta give this place credit –they provide a lot of free perks that many of the more expensive hotels would charge for, or they would only provide for free to their loyalty members. Perks like: –Free wifi throughout the hotel –Free bottled water — unlimited. Seriously. –Free travel amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste, etc –Free breakfast All for a rate of $ 89/night! It is a steal, but the property is just really old and my rooms smelled like damp towels. It was pretty nasty. The breakfast is actually a pretty generous spread — I was expecting just donuts and coffee but they actually serve a wide variety of breads, yogurt, there’s a waffle maker, and juices. They also had cooked food like hashbrowns, sausage patties, and scrambled eggs. The bad part is that the food tasted super bland and the eggs were powdered eggs — the kind that tastes like cardboard. But for such a cheap rate, you really can’t expect too much and I give they lots of effort for trying. I was here on business and chose this hotel since it was really close to the office but I will probably look for another property the next time I’m in town.

The rooms were more spacious than what I thought. The staff was extremely amicable and helpful.

Everyone is very friendly and over all the hotel is ok, nothing spectacular. The hotel is very clean and in a decent location. It’s what you would expect from a Wingate hotel. The biggest issue I have is the road noise inside the room. I stayed in room 304(which is road side) for 5 nights and all night you hear the traffic. If I were to come back I would try something else in the area.

This place is awful. Stuck here for a week on business and I experienced stolen food, cockroaches, sloppy unkempt rooms after the maid tended to them. This place should be shut down by the board of health.

So, coming back into Houston after a long day I checked for a nice hotel in the Willowbrook area of town. showed me this place so I bit. Ouch. First thing, it’s off the beaten path. While not very far off, don’t expect to be in walking distance of anything. Went to check in and realized that I had only gotten one bed. I had my daughter-in-law and son with me so that wasn’t going to work. I asked if they would give me two beds instead of one. They wanted to charge me. For an extra bed. In an empty hotel. We disagreed about that policy and the rude(oh, so rude) front desk clerk finally gave in and put us right across the hall from the pool. How thoughtful. The rooms were okay, nothing special for $ 100/night. You could tell the place was older because the bathtub was worn. It had an indention in the bath that was so deep water just sat in it. Gross. The beds were okay, nothing great. It really should be a budget hotel where they charge much less, especially for what you get. I wouldn’t say this is a terrible hotel, I felt safe, it’s close enough to drive to the mall there and to 1960, but still just too far off and on a road full of traffic. The desk staff is incredibly unhelpful(well, this woman anyway) and rude and I just wouldn’t stay here again. No thanks.

The night I checked in, I was very impressed. The room was cool and clean. The furniture is a little dated, but clean and in good repair. It was quiet in the hotel, had I not seen other Do Not Disturb signs, I might have wondered if I was the only guest on that floor. The elevators were scary. They make strange noises, grinding, and take forever to open on the floor. Had I not been on the 4th floor, I would not have used them. I stayed 2 nights and my room was not cleaned on the day in between them. I had to go down and request my room be cleaned. We had left the room around noon and stayed gone until almost 5 and came back to a room that had not been touched. I was not given any information about the breakfast that they advertise.

Just recently stayed here for a second time, and if I have to go back to this area of Houston again, I’ll probably return to this wingate. Staff was friendly and everything was clean. Very quiet. The single-bed room I was in was pretty big with a couch and other furniture. Elevators were a little slow and weird, and my overactive imagination made me take the stairs when possible.

I stayed here for a business trip, and I was pretty comfortable here. Some good things: really comfy bed with clean linens, really nice shower head, great couch and la-z-boy, comfortable and clean hot tub, nice workout facilities, pretty thick walls, healthy and substantial breakfast options, good airport shuttle. Some areas for improvement: the air conditioning isn’t on, so you will always walk into a stifling, muggy room, they don’t stock items like saline solution at their front desk(and they should since you have to check those big bottles at the airport!), all of their pillows were hugely puffy and hurt my neck, they use styrofoam cups and plates at breakfast(BIG gripe), my window on the 3rd floor was almost level and directly across from a streetlight, so it was room darkening shades or walking on the surface of the sun BRIGHT, not really within safe walking distance of any restaurants.
