I had the opportunity to experience TA cakes at the Houston Bridal Extravaganza 2016. The featured melon cake was by far the best we tasted at the event that day. We were impressed and scheduled to attend a tasting with them. Upon arriving everyone was very nice and again the cake flavors were delicious as we had expected. It was our turn to consult with the Allen’s about what we were looking for in a cake, we spoke with her husband. He was very rude and seemed to be in a rush. He began asking us what kind of cake I was looking for, size, flavor etc. We were undecided on the flavor combination that we wanted and were not sure on what size cake would accommodate our number of guests. For the record cake is not our business nor do we purchase wedding cakes everyday. One would think that a little patience and understanding would go into a bride picking her wedding cake for this very special day. This is not what I experienced. My finance pointed to a very large cake they have displayed in the window to say that we liked the «design» Mr. Allen then stated that cake there will cost you about 3 grand. We were not inquiring about the cost of the cake we were trying to give him an idea of the style of cake we were looking for. He then just blatantly asked us how much we were trying to spend on a cake. I found this to be very rude and unprofessional. I thought the approach would have been to find out what we want in our wedding cake and then quote us a price and go from there. We were then walked to the kitchen area and Mr. Allen told one of their employees to allow us to taste as many cake combinations as we would like so that they could find out if we were just «tasters or buyers»
Needless to say I was completely turned off and told my finance i was ready to leave. While on my way out the door I took a brief look around to take notice of how others were being treated and it was NOT the same. There seemed to be dialogue going on to appease the customer and not so much about how much the cake cost and rather or not they just came to «taste cake». I have never been treated so rudely and I must say that while dealing with vendors and planning my wedding this has been by far the most unpleasant experience yet. The cake here is delicious but the service is less than mediocre. Lastly, he is not concerned with rather or not you go elsewhere to purchase a cake he also made mention to us that they sell at the least 16 cakes a week at $ 1200 or more so ehh I guess our cake purchase really wouldn’t make a difference. *sigh*

I love cupcakes and cake. Last year, one of the items on my 40 before 40 list was to find the Bestest Cupcake ever. I tried hundreds across the US and internationally.
Where was Wedding Cakes by Tammy Allen? Sure, not exclusively a Cupcake store… in fact, I had no clue they sold them here as its like a secret club that you need to be «in the know» about.
Tammy and Nate are the owners and both are so passionate about baking, flavors, beauty and satisfying their clientele. No wonder they have won year after year for the Who’s Who award and been featured on TV and in newspapers.
They are conveniently located in a plaza on Copperfield Houston area. They deal with quality hotels and clients. Very elegant decorating so the cakes look gorgeous but it doesn’t stop there. The taste is fantabulous!!! And i hate this word but so «moist»…Many cakes and cupcakes are drier or tasteless and it’s all about the frosting or icing. Nate shared that they flavor the actual cakes and you can tell.
They have Tasting Tuesdays if you’re lucky enough to be on their list. I’d say to brides… don’t settle for packaging a hotel cake for your wedding UNLESS you specifically ask of they work with Wedding Cakes by Tammy Allen. Call them or stop by. When I was buying my cupcakes (houston mango, cinnamon grand marnier, chocolate, sroc strawberry, something cherry) a lady came in to make a payment in her cake. The finance too!!!
Not just wedding cakes… they have birthday cakes, cupcakes, specialty cakes. You will not be sorry. You will crave it for days.

I’ve been a Client of Tammy Allen’s cakes since 2011. The first cake that I purchased was my daughters college graduation cake. I was so impressed with the detail put into the design of the cake… not to mention how delicious it was… I knew I was hooked!
My most recent experience with Tammy Allen’s cakes was my daughter’s wedding cake. My daughter and I went to a cake tasting about 6 months prior to the event. Tammy and her husband Nate were very friendly and patient with us as we tasted 3 different flavors and decided on a watermelon cake with butter-​cream icing. It was absolutely delicious!
My daughter chose a cake design that was somewhat out of the ordinary and Tammy was very excited about duplicating the design that she’d only seen on a picture. It came out better than what we’d shown her! It was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
Tammy also helped us choose cake platforms, flowers, toppers. etc. that would really highlight the «featured» wedding cake. The wedding cake was placed on a table by itself, under a huge chandelier at our wedding reception venue. It was one of the major highlights at the wedding. Everyone was asking «who made the cake» and there were no leftovers.
Tammy really loves what she does and it shows. Her desire is to please every Client that patronizes her bakery and to make their cake experience as special as they imagined. Tammy and Nate’s level of professionalism is unmatched. I would highly recommend TAMMY ALLEN’S WEDDING CAKES!!! You will not be disappointed!

Great cupcakes! We came in and ordered 6 different flavors, our favorite included cookies n cream and Texas melon. Another favorite was actually a complementary cupcake the owner asked us to try (liquor infused with a lemon twist) and it was Awesome! She was great to meet and talk to.

My maid of honor and I went into TA Cakes to sample for my upcoming wedding. The people were so incredibly nice, and the cakes tasted good, that they had me sold. After paying my deposit, I tried emailing, and calling several times, to discuss what my husband’s grooms cake was going to be. He is in the Air Force, so I wanted a B-​52 plane landing on the runway. I never actually got an email response from Tammy, and when I spoke to her VERY briefly and rushed on the phone, she only complained that my venue was going to be difficult to get to in time due to traffic. I was also VERY upset that I was told my husband’s cake (the plane) would be made from fondant or rice krispie to make it look real. When we went to cut our cakes… I fed the wing to my new husband and it was CARDBOARD! Talk about upset! I did not let it upset the day… we laugh about it… but give me a break! The plane looked terrible, and even though I sent several pictures and descriptions of the plane through email, it was not like ANY of them. My husbands call sign was also not present on the plane as requested. I regret going with TA Cakes, as nice of people as they seem to be, I will definitely not be recommending them to any future brides. Our wedding at Briscoe Manor was beautiful and everything we could’ve imagined, but TA Cakes definitely let us down. I wish I would’ve gone with More than Cakes, or another preferred vendor from Briscoe.

I have been coming to Tammy for over a year now. Her husband and her are the nicest people ever! Her cupcakes and cakes are moist and delicious. I even ask them to make certain flavors and they tell me they will do it the next week.
I had a transformers cake for my son’s 5^th birthday. The cake was so good that there were hardly any leftovers. She will also do a 3 layer cake which is something that is done often up north but they don’t do it down here. If you have a special request they will always try and find a way to create it or accommodate you.
She makes a watermelon cupcake and a cherry chocolate cupcake that are out of this world. She even made a chocolate cupcake with mint icing for my sister at the last minute. Tammy definitely rocks and will get all my cake orders from now on.

how in the world do you expect to get business if youre rude!!? theres a nice way of asking questions, dont be a smarty pants on the phone and maybe just maybe youll get some good business. i was willing to pay but my money isnt going to a person who is rude. pathetic.

Treats customers very disrespectfully and poorly. Generally very rude and unaccommodating to their clients. Definitely NOT recommended. Have never experienced such horrible customer service ever.

Today my wife and I was on a cupcake hunt in the area, so we tried 3 other places but they were either closed down or closed for the holiday. So on our way home we seen this bakery (formerly the old Frosted bakery) so we stopped in. First off we were greeted by the owners who were super cool and nice. Then we found out the cupcakes were only $ 2.50 each and they had some really cool flavors: sock it to me, watermelon, Italian cream, and some others but these are what we ordered. Omg these cupcakes were moist with the right amount of frosting (not overpowering at all) and they were sweet but not too sweet. This is a good/​bad discovery bc they are great priced and subperb in quality, but too close to me house so I know we will be here WAY TOO MUCH! Lol, if you’re in the area and want a good cupcake, well I just found it for you, so you can thank me later :-)
