Seriously? This is all you got Houston? Best tofu? Disgusting and chalky. The banh beo was bland, the texture is disgusting even my dog refuse it eat it! I don’t like giving bad reviews, but can’t let anyone make the same mistake I did.

I love fried tofu and dazzling sweet desserts, If you have no time to cook drop by and grab a plate of banh cuon, banh gio, eggrolls, corn, congee, banna chips, soy bean milk, almost anything is already cooked, just buy and make some semi-cook dishes with ur tofu and ur lunch or dinner is finished less than minutes

Their tofus are good. There are many varieties to choose from. 7 pieces for a dollar. Found my mom’s her favorite vegetarian to go goodies. She absolutely love it.

CASHONLY I strayed away from this place once due to convenience, it is a lesson I’ll never do again. The quality of the food items from here surpasses any other place. I always get their chili lemon grass tofu pieces(7 for $ 1), they have other options but this one is my favorite. I am not really a tofu fan so I can’t really tell if the other choices are good/bad. Everyone loves their fresh, hot tofu pudding pudding but as mentioned I’m not huge on tofu so I never get it. At the front in a basket, they will have these small poppers(they look like mini jalapeño poppers) that are fried with bits of chili etc. I honestly do not know the word for them but they are so good. 6 for $ 1 I believe? I love them although my boyfriend thinks they’re too fishy. If you are vietnamese then you’ll know everything that is in the store. Everything is pretty good. Sticky rice, Bánh bao, Nem Chua(small pork pieces with the piece of garlic/chili on time) Bánh tét(pork or banana filled wrapped with sticky rice inside banana leaves), etc

So I looked all over for some vegetarian food since Duy Sandwiches was closed for the day. I came here and bought 14 pieces of lemongrass pepper tofu since there wasnt anything that looked appetizing to me. While eating, I found a strand of white hair in the tofu. I will never visit this place again. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about it. By the way, I’ve been eating and cooking with lemongrass so I know the difference betweeen human hair and lemongrass. It was without a doubt hair.

Cassava Aka yucca root steam with shredded coconut tasted so great, the best that I’ve ever have but sometimes I bought it, they don’t have milk coconut on that. Their tofu was cold and taste ok. Banana cake is just acceptable. Soy milk is watery, cannot beat San San’s one which taste thicker and more flavorful. The worst thing ever is sticky rice. It looks and tastes like congee, horrible ever, I didn’t even finish first bite, threw out away immediately. Spring rolls is acceptable. They have shrimp and a slice of pork ham not spoil meat like usual. Rice paper is dry and sauce is great. They accept cash only! They have variety of snack like hams, steam buns, many kind of tofu, sticky rice… I will just come back for my aka yucca root only.

Giant pieces of deliciously spiced fried tofu — 7 for $ 1. Their fresh firm tofu makes great tofu scrambles. They have both meaty and vegan options at the tofu bar, so read carefully if you’re vegetarian. There is a mushroom tofu loaf-thing wrapped in soy skin(blanking on the name for that), slices of which make a nice dinner-roast alternative for vegetarians. It’s something like 70 cents a slice, and served with mashed potatoes and vegan gravy, it’s a winner.

I come here strictly for their freshly made tofu with syrup. I used to come here for their spring rolls, but have noticed they’ve skimped on the quality recently. Remember– CASHONLY!!!

Love the concept. Where else can you find a variety of fresh tofu for a real affordable price?! Exactly. I’ve been a customer of this place for many years, and we always get the spicy, the regular, the mushroom, and whatever else we’re in the mood for to make our healthy dishes. I end up buying about 5 – 10 dollars worth, depending on what we need to make. It’s made fresh daily along with some other packages of food that’s convenient for lunch, dieters, or a quick meal. I sometimes pick up some soy milk too, but they do run out. Just a great mom and pop shop and I love their tofu!

i bumped into this place without knowing its name one day while walking to the food market. it has a variety of vegetarian food in cheap prices, ranges from $ 1.50-$ 3. there are gluten rice(xoi), sweet soup(che), soy milk, and of course tofu which i found 20 cents cheaper than other tofu restaurants.

I visit these guys at least a few times a month. Prices are still great and the food is still fantastic. Now they’re closed on Thursdays as opposed to Mondays — I wish they weren’t.

I come here mainly to buy a large cup of their fresh hot tofu pudding for $ 2.70. Sometimes I buy their chili fried tofu that is 10 pieces for $ 1.50. There are lots of interesting treats in this store. On weekends, there is a steady flow of traffic in and out of Viet Tien Tofu. Viet Tien Tofu is located in the back of the green shopping center anchored by Lee’s Sandwiches. The green shopping center is at the Northwest corner of the Bellaire Blvd @ Boone Rd intersection.

Ugh… I jinxed myself. Right after I wrote a review on how awesome their Banh Tieus are… I stopped by to get some this past Saturday and I was upset! They were stale! I bought 4 and had to throw them out. You would think since its a Saturday… one of their most busiest days, they would have fresh ones out!

This place has the best fresh tofu everyday. I read one reviewer down below and i disagree with him… This place has the bestest and nicest services. Food are always fresh to make. They are the only place that have these type of tofu as well. and for the fish sauce, they do have it, but you have to pay for it, what did you expect. this isnt a grocery store, its FASTFOOD. And also for the rice, you can go home and make your own rice. you are not required to eat tofu with rice, nothing at the store needs to be eaten with rice. people are always expecting to get FREE extra items such as rice and/or sauces, if they gave it for free, they wouldnt be making good business. **** I saw a review about the lemongrass having hair, I can assure you she’s wrong. That is not hair. It is in fact lemongrass. She apparently never worked with fresh lemongrass. Just saying.

Tucked away in an almost empty run down plaza this homemade tofu and pastry shop serves up the best authentic Vietnamese treats that leave you and your wallet smiling. They sell lemongrass and chili tofu, regular fried tofu, cilantro tofu, veggie eggrolls, pork eggrolls, and huge slabs of fried tofu in open metal pans(10/$ 1 last time I was there). The lemongrass tofu is excellent, veggie eggrolls are a bit greasy, but otherwise very tasty. Also serves typical Vietnamese dessert cups with tapioca and corn in coconut milk, and green soybean milk in half gallons. The entire store is lined with piles of Vietnamese pastries ranging from banh cam and banh tieu to mung bean and sweet rice. The banh tieu is really nice here, fluffy beignet-like pita pockets that are slightly sweet with sesame seeds. Some vegetarian entrée foods are offered near the register. Don’t forget to try the dau hu ky — a tofu roll with onions and herbs.

It’s a hole in the wall but what isn’t In Chinatown? This place is pretty clean for bellaire. The food is great and serves the best tofu snacks and veggie egg rolls. Stop by here if you get a chance. Also the staff is friendly :) always a plus. Fill up a bag full of ten pieces of tofu(onion and clear crystal noodle suggested) for $ 1.50 for a quick snack.

Just like everyone else says… this is a hole in the wall with the good stuff. Their vietnamese egg rolls are a guilty pleasure of mine and are one of the reasons why I can’t seem to lose any weight… at about 65 cents each, it’s easy to snag up a bunch into the brown paper bag and call it a day.

Very good fried sesame buns(banh tieu). 2 for $ 1.65 I believe. Great when fresh. Try it! I’m not a vegetarian so I can’t really tell you how the rest of the products are. ;)
