I don’t like going to the doctor’s office. Normally, it takes forever to get an appointment, and then once you do, you end up seeing the doctor for about 2 minutes, 3 hours after your appointment time. I decided to go for my annual physical last week. I figure, once every 10 years or so is good timing for this annual event, and heck, I might as well get something out of the insurance I pay so dearly for. I asked a couple of trusted friends, and the recommended Dr. Mannie Magid. I called and had an appointment for my initial physical 2 days later. Aside from the unpleasantness that goes with getting a physical(the«gowns» make you feel more naked than if you were actually naked,) it was a good overall experience. I walked in a little early to fill out the obligatory 1st timer paperwork. It took about 5 minutes. After a couple minute wait, I was invited to the back, where they quickly, kindly and efficiently took my vitals. The nurse took my blood and then the doctor was there a couple minutes later. I had a few questions for him that he addresses during the physical. He spent about a half hour with me, going over what issues he spotted(it turns out that I am a little overweight. Surprise!) We then discussed the plan of attack. There were a couple prescriptions that he emailed to my pharmacy, and then told me I would have my blood test results in a couple days. They have a great patient communication website. It is easy to navigate and has good, clear explanations. I was able to log onto their website the next day and get the results of my bloodwork. Aside from the finger-wagging, this was a really good experience. I will be back. Maybe even before 10 years lapse.
