This is the cheapest place in town to get contacts and glasses. Sure, you have to wait a long time for your order to come in and the exam is done by students (supervised by doctors) so it takes for-​evah. That’s why I only gave them four stars. But the discounts are HUGE and sometimes they’ll give you a goody bag with free solutions and trial lenses.
Today I called to refill my contacts and found out my prescription had expired. I told the receptionist that I plan to leave the country in a few days and she sneaked me several pairs of trial (read: free) lenses to carry me over until I can make an appointment for an exam. I’ve been going to UHCO for years and have never had a bad experience. If you are willing to wait for glasses «not in an hour» and want to save some serious cash, give them a shot. They also take most insurance plans.
