True Results of Houston Weight Loss Center – Memorial Village

I went for a free consultation and to see if my insurance would cover the sleeve. Before going I read all the negative reviews, and was a little hesitate; but everyone here was really sweet.

When you are physically there, they are great. However, they never ever return phone calls and you can never speak with the person you need to speak with directly. Very unprofessional.

Horrible! The receptionist hung up on me after rudely telling me that she could only see me on Wednesdays… even if I scheduled months in advance! I now have to drive twice the distance to the office downtown.

Once approved they stop returning phone calls… left 2 – 3 messages and never get call back! I’m having 2^nd thoughts about this I mean what about after care?

I hate hate hate writing negative reviews. In fact I seldom do it. However, I was so disappointed in my experience here that I have to share. True Results has an incredible facility downtown, but this is a once a month satellite office. As a result, you feel like you are in a walk-​in clinic. Each time I went for a scheduled appointment, the receptionist was confused and had no idea why I was there. The nurses were helpful and efficient and I felt informed and made my decision to have the LapBand surgery through True Results. That is when the experience went downhill fast. I was supposed to have a patient advocate who would answer any questions I had through the process. I never had one. I spoke to someone different every time and I was passed from person to person. I had to continually call them for updates. When I went to the main downtown office for an evaluation, I waited in front of the receptionist for at least 5 minutes while she was talking on a personal call. I waited in the lobby for an hour PAST my appointment time. They did help expedite things with my insurance company, however some of the charges cannot be approved by my insurance now because True Results failed to obtain pre-​approval on some items prior to the service.
When I was finally assigned a surgeon, I went to his office and had a completely different experience and felt so confident and comfortable with him and his staff. True Results never called me from the time my surgery was scheduled until yesterday, a full 6 weeks after my surgery. They never called to ensure I had a surgery date and knew what to expect, never called to check on me after surgery. Yesterday, 6 weeks later, they called to make an «after care appointment.» I politely declined and advised that due to their lack of attention I would be transferring my care to my surgeon. His office, on the other hand, made sure I had the RN’s pager number for ²⁴⁄₇ access, answered every question, called to ensure I was doing well, and was there at every turn if I needed them.
I would like to think my experience with True Results was unique. However, I have a colleague who had surgery at the same time I did, and she had the exact same experience with True Results — we were just a number in a file. Hopefully patients who use the downtown office exclusively, or perhaps know something I did not, have a better result with True Results. I can thank True Results for putting me in touch with the surgeon that performed my procedure.
I would suggest that if you are considering having the LapBand procedure, do your homework and find a reputable surgeon. Their office will assist you with insurance requirements, and you may save yourself some headaches by dealing directly with the surgeon’s staff that will be supporting you after your procedure.
