TownePlace Suites Houston NW

Very nice and quiet location. Heb and target very close by. Nice front office people. Small pool. Card keys are very difficult to use

This place is a bit old and is in need of a bit more upgrading. Stayed there for one night but wish we had chosen another location. We checked in around 10PM. The staff was very nice and set us up with a room very quickly. The first room smelled terribly of smoke even though it was a non-​smoking room. We got another room quickly thanks to the efficient staff. This room seemed nice but we quickly learned otherwise. We were awakened by horrible «growling» from the air conditioner almost every hour. We didn’t sleep a wink. The room was otherwise clean and well equipped, but I just couldn’t get over the lack of sleep.

I’ve been to a few of Towne Place Suites, and this one is the worst… hands down. Not as bad as Motel 6 but this place gave me a second thought about staying at Motel 6 and save money. The room was very old and grim. Very small breakfast area and terrible breakfast. Scramble egg was extra dry and hard. Greasy sausages swam in oil. Coffee was weak and watery.

The worst Marriott property I have ever seen. Don’t stay here.

Nothing bad to say!!! They allowed 10am early checkin for all three of us traveling together. The room is great, couch, TV that can be viewed by couch or bed, super super comfy bed with great down bedding, windows that actual open a little to allow air in. Great kitchenette with oven, stove, fridge, etc. bathroom came stocked with mini Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner. Woo hoo! Also, there are snacks available for sale in the lobby, which I think is a really nice service. Breakfast is served in the morning and food and drinks in the evening, but we didn’t take advantage of either of these. Lastly, free Internet! I hate it when hotels try to charge for Internet. Not sure if they had wifi but I was able to plug in at the desk, and I really appreciate that.

Stayed here this week, here are the pluses and minuses —
Pluses — clean room and quiet. Furnished with a kitchen, coffee and frig.
Free Wifi, responsive staff.
Minuses — no hot breakfast available in the morning, I headed next door to the Marriott. Poor value (I paid $ 186 after taxes for a room).
Decent, but I will look for other options next time I am in Houston.
