One of my favorite lunch time spots, a variety of lunch time specials, service is fast and food is good.

I love this place. Great atmosphere, good customer service. I love love love the sangria Margarita! I always order my usual, el chef special. The menu is more tex-mex which I’m not a big fan of, some mexican dishes, too.

I don’t speak Spanish, but I’m pretty sure Tio Chucho means«This sucks». I didn’t understand the myriad of 1 and 2 star reviews with 5 star reviews. Then I understood why: the clientele. This is Jersey Village area — white suburbia. Boring, plain, medicore — choose your synonym — you’ll understand. Maybe they come here for the margaritas? I didn’t understand the hype. The food was just sad — the chips were strange: I’ve had better chips out of a bag of Tostitos than what I got served here. The salsa was okay, but again, I’ve had better. The food is overpriced for what you get, and what you get isn’t very tasty. I’d stick to a standard Mexican restaurant instead of here. Stay away, spend your hard earned $$$‘s somewhere else. There are literally dozens of places better than here.

The Aguacate Enchiladas are very good. I didn’t give 5 stars because they overcharged for my drink. Otherwise, the service is fast and friendly. The rice is very tasty and their chips and salsa are addicting.

I would give it a zero but, it wouldn’t let me. I use to like this place until I saw several roaches crawling on the wall and table. I was disgust and haven’t been since. PLEASE stay away from this place unless you like roaches joining you at the table.

Good tasting texmex food… the chicken enchiladas suizas were great! We came for lunch on a Sunday and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Their red sauce for the chips was warm and yummy!!! I didn’t care too much for the cheese enchiladas as they tasted microwaved but the suizas made up for them.

A true hidden gem. Great mecheladas. Stuffed avocado is by far the best I have ever had. You will not be disappointed. El Jeffe, chefs special, tacos al carbon deluxe. Always get charro beans instead of re-fried. Their charro beans are second to none

I love there food, it’s always great. The staff keeps checking on you and the magaritas are awesome especially since they have so many flavors. I recommend the Steak Mexicana and bacon wrapped shrimp and stuffed alvacado… yum yum yum…

1. Great food 2. Excellent service 3. Delicious drinks 4. Affordable menu 5. Relaxed atmosphere This is the best tex mex restaurant in the area my family loves coming here. the menu is diverse and reasonably priced. The chips and salsa are great especially the green sauce. This place should have a much higher rating. I’m not sure who put the stick up the previous reviewers ass but you should ignore the negative folks this place is the bomb ! $$!!#!!#@!

Truly friendly staff make this place better and food even tastier. Typical Tex/Mex food with a few traditional Mexican dishes. I’ve been here many times before and never thought of writing a review but after my Carne Guisada dish tonight, I had to. It was great and very true to traditional Mexican flair. It’s nice to step away from corporate chian restaurants and support local mom and pop restaurants. Highly recommend!

I called in a Togo order of Nachos De Frijoles. The gentleman said it would be ready in ten minutes. I immediately got into my car to pick my order up. I get home(keep in mind that my house is .5 miles from the restaurant) and opened my food. I received what looked like an order that had been sitting in the back ALLDAY. My 5 chips were cold and soggy and a cheese and bean mixture was scooped on top. The bag contained no silverware, extra chips or salsa. I have attached a picture as well. First and last time I ever eat here. $ 14 wasted.

The food is pretty good, prices are great, but what really won me over is the service. I have an 8 month old that got a little cranky midway through the meal. Normally, his dad and I take turns eating so that one of us can entertain him. Our waitress came over and picked up our son and distracted him so we could both finish our meal. As new parents who have been eating separately, that was amazing! We will be back, especially for the enchiladas!

I’m completely torn about this review first of all I want to start off by saying that I really do like this place. The food is nice and fresh but they do not make handmade tortillas. The H.E.B ones are much better… It’s just regular Tex-Mex food that is good and it’s in my neighborhood so there’s not a lot of downside there. The reason for my low star rating is because they add a gratuity to your bill then they charge your card and they leave the tip area open as if you didn’t already tip them. When they give you the receipt they exclude the original so if you did not review it, you basically double tip them… which is what I did the first time I was there… I am a good tipper but I just did not appreciate the dishonesty. Ps the tip they determine themselves is 20%…so let’s hope that’s the level of service you are given

Love it… It is our neighborhood place to go. The owner hugs us when we arrive and the servers know us when we come in. They have our drinks out without us needing to order.

Food is so so, kinda pricey. Margaritas were really good. Location is close to my home. So convenient I do frequent regularly, although have discovered Los Cuchos at Hwy 290 and Jones Rd. Look out got some competition now.

Two words… SKIPIT! The décor in this place is like a clown school vomited, and that’s a bigger insult to clowns than this place. Don’t expect a warm welcome as you enter, as the woman behind the counter(where you also pay) never bothered to make eye contact or say hello. The hostess looked no more than twelve and walked off towards our table without notifying us to follow. We were greeted quickly and asked what we would like for drinks. My wife ordered a frozen margarita with no salt, but it arrived with salt and was more slush than frozen. Here’s a tip, if you work in or employ people in the service industry, they should listen carefully if English is not their first language. We both ordered fajitas. Mine a mix of chicken and beef, and my wife just beef. Wow, they were not that good at all, and most items had absolutely no flavor. The serving size is definitely not worth the money either. This complete lack of flavorful food did not end there, the rice was terrible, the meat was tough, the salsa and green sauce were pureed to slush and the tortilla chips looked and tasted out of a bag, the guacamole was bland, and the side of pico was tiny. Don’t expect to get cheese or sour cream with your order, that’s an up-charge. Apart from the bean soup(charo) it was the worst Mexican food we’ve ever had. It’s 2014 people, get a Point of Sale System(POS), because we can’t read the hand-written ticket. If you’ve ever seen Restaurant Impossible or Kitchen Nightmares, EXPECTTOSEETHISPLACEONIT.

You have just one time to impress a guest. Even if the guest walks in at 9:20PM and you close at 9:30PM. If you can’t fully serve that guest with quality then don’t seat them and then rush them through a menu with 200 items on it and then tell them the kitchen closes in 2 minutes. That was my beginning experience at this much anticipated spot I’ve been waiting to try. Let’s start with what actually finally attracted me here. The photos of the Sangria Rita. Well, I didn’t order that, however I did order the regular rita on the rocks. Unfortunately, that glass in the photo only looks big… it’s not, thus the reason why their ritas are 3.95. For taste sake, they were okay but a little too much triple sec for me. The service I received was smile-less with that«I’d rather not be working» attitude. It totally made me not want to be there. I did speak a little with the owner on my way out and she is actually pleasant. She needs to train her staff to be the same. Heads up, you pay at the register. Once the server gives you a ticket, they are done with you. I did not order anything to eat as I refused to do so with them rushing me. I did try the salsa. If you want to know how it taste then just go to any grocery store and buy a can of tomato sauce and dip some chips in it. Done. My wife did order 2 tacos and I swear after the first bite she spit the contents out of her mouth saying the tortillas were microwaved and nasty. I tried some of the meat and it was definitely microwaved as well. If you want to get an idea on how it taste, then take a real leather belt, shred it, and sprinkle some seasoning on it. Done. I am giving them 1 star and it isn’t because I want to give them no star. They actually earned that 1 star. If you go there and take one look at their menu, you will see that even the photos of the food doesn’t look appetizing. Shameful because the owner is really nice. My attempt to celebrate Cinco de Mayo there was a fail. Smile and Prosper

I’m not sure about this place. My first time here and it was blah. I walk in at 9:25 on Monday Cinco de Mayo and was seated. To be approached by a rather rushed, unfriendly and rather rude gentleman. Who demanded I place an order cause their kitchen is closing. So, why didn’t they say that prior to seating me, I’m not sure. So pressed for time and pressured to make a selection without knowing their menu, it being my first time and all. I ordered the most basic for a Mexican restaurant, a fajita taco with grilled jalapenos on the side. Well let me tell you this, if you’re worried about high blood pressure and need a low to no sodium diet! This is your spot. These so called fajitas were dry, flavorless, old and I think were from their lunch service. To top it off all that not so yumm fajitas were all wrapped up in some very nice store bought microwaved very rubbery, oh and did I say fake flour tortillas. So I will mark this place off my list won’t be coming back here. The one star is because they can actually grill a jalapeño. The sauce was served warm, but flavor is blah, chips not fresh, and the rita, well if you like tons of sugar and sweetener in your drinks well this is the spot for you.

First of all I’m surprised with review this place received. The salsa was basic taqueria style. The fajita was over grilled might have been heated a few times… Very«char». This place isn’t much solely came on posted reviews. Will not be returning.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Houston. The owners and waiters are all so friendly, and accommodating. The enchiladas suizas are the best restaurant enchiladas verdes you can get. Salsa roja — could drink it by the gallon. Micheladas — Perfect… better than Mambo or Capt Benny’s, in my opinion. I try to come here once a month now, but when I lived in Jersey Village I was there twice a week.
