Some of the food was a little to bland to my taste, but strictly my opinion. The portions are HUGE! Potato Salad was really good. And the the ox-tails forget-about-it! OMG… the ox-tails were so delicious. over rice even better. The service was really friendly. We had our order to go, and surprisingly, they wrapped the to-go box in saran wrap. great idea. wish other places would do that. Will def. be back for the ox-tails, Kool-Aid was pretty whack though. $ 1.99 for over sweet water with a hint of grape flavor. Disappointed about the Kool-Aid.

I’ve been going to this place for close to 4 years now on and off when I get a hankering for some soul food on the west side of town. I’ve turned many people on to this joint. They used to be called Tessie’s Kitchen. They serve real good home cooking(soul food). My favorite is the oxtails($ 8.99) followed by somthered pork chops and smothered chicken. All platters comes with two sides and some rice. Sides include mash potatoes, collard greens, candied yams, green beans, mac and cheese. They top it off with some cornbread. The bananna pudding and peach cobbler is also good. Everything is well seasoned and reasonably priced. The décor is simple but its the food that gets top billing.
