Once I had workers in my house who accidentally broke the lid on a one-of-a-kind teapot. One of the artists at the HPG was able to reproduce the lid. I thought the price was reasonable. I also bought a very unique vase made by another artist. I wasn’t in a hurry when the lid on my teapot was being made; besides, the artist was very clear about timing, so I was OK with that. I wish I lived closer to this place. Somebody told me they do ceramic/pottery repair but I can’t attest to that.

This place recently moved from Rice Village to the Heights. I haven’t been to their new location yet, but I visited them quite a bit when they were in Rice Village. This store is great fun to get lost in. They showcase a bunch of local artists and the pottery is pretty impressive. They have a small jewelery section and a whole room dedicated to painting and prints. The workers are friendly and they’re always putting on some sort of an event. The main reason I took off a star was because we requested a custom made piece that didn’t get made for months at a time. We were told originally that it would take a few weeks, but we never saw it. Months later(after we’d completely forgotten about it), we got a message on the machine saying that it was ready to pick up. Now, this wasn’t a huge piece of art – just a soap dish, so I’m not sure what happened. Regardless, this is a fun little shop to check out and support local artists.
