Terrible food. I’ve had the unfortunate displeasure of eating their catered lunches many times in my 5 years or so in the Med Center. I don’t know why meeting/event organizers like ordering from this place so much because nobody I know likes the food. Please stop! There are so many less terrible options around like Alonti, Rx Catering, or Luby’s(best of them all). ANYTHING else is better. Hand me $ 30 and I’ll make you 10 ultra generic PB&J boxed lunches that wipe the floor with this stuff.

Had lunch at restaurant. Had to walk down the aisle to select my food. Very small variety of food choices. They had two entrees, one vegetable, and one starch to choose from. They did have about eight salad choices. I chose a Green Salad and wish I had made another selection. The salad was very boring and appeared to be just thrown together. Large chunks of lettuce, tomatoes and onions. I chose Chicken Florentine and did not like it. They did not have any pies available for lunch. I was very disappointed with the experience. I left most of the food on the plate. I will not return to this restaurant for lunch. I use them as caterer a lot and have not been disappointed.

Came in 30 mins after opening on a weekday. Only one of the entrances was open, so that gave me a strange vibe. I walked in and none of the staff said a word until I wandered off to find the restroom where the manager offered me a table«breakfast by yourself?» At that point I just got a pastry to go. The tiniest cheese Danish for $ 2, with no napkin offered. Worst park is when I did ask he fished it from a pile that was covered in misc papers and receipts.

I WILLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN! I had a terrible food experience on two separate occasions. I once had a hair in my breakfast taco and this morning was the final straw… I pulled out a rubber band from my mouth while eating a breakfast taco. Wayyy over priced too. When I called and told the manager he tried to justify it by saying«human error» and that«it was just a rubber band.» What kind of place is this. Next step is to call the health inspector.

FYI: This review is on the catered services. Came here for a wedding recently, and I gotta say, this place is really pretty. The décor here is nice, and it definitely reminds me of an old-fashioned american tavern. Honestly, the catered food we got was just alright. It satisfied my hungry stomach and I. HOWEVER, the desert was definitely on point. The cannolis were amazing though. I would definitely just come back for that if anything. Catered Entrees: 2 Deserts: 4 Décor: 4 Overall: 4 Come for the cannolis guys.

I ordered a catered lunch for my office on Wednesday from The French Corner… I can’t tell you how dissappointed I was. It was supposed to be here at 10:30am but it didn’t arrive until 10:50am. The drivers dropped everything off and left promptly without even waiting for me to take stock of the order and make sure everything was there. I immediately noticed that there were no sandwiches so I called the office, where I was put on hold for 5 minutes while they«checked with the driver». Then the lady came back on the line and told me that, even though the sandwiches were listed on the order, the kitchen failed to make them. At this point it’s 11:05 and my meeting starts in 25 minutes. She told me they’d get them here by 11:30. Numerous phone calls later, a lackluster tray of way-less-than-gourmet sandwiches finally arrived at my office at 11:35am, and I had to interrupt the meeting to put them out. Also, thank heavens we keep serving utensils here, as they didn’t send us nearly enough. Fast forward to today(Friday)…I’d been trying to get ahold of the manager since Wednesday, he finally left me a voicemail saying they’d credit me 25% off the late sandwich tray, which I think is a fairly crappy way to make things right. To add insult to injury, when the girl sent over the invoice she clearly started that the 25% had been deducted from the invoice and when I looked at the charge it was the exact same total as my initial catering work order from when I’d placed the order. NEVERAGAIN! Mistakes happen, I get that, but their terrible response is the reason I urge you to look elsewhere for your catering needs and save yourself the hassle! They clearly take no pride in their work and pay no attention to detail.

Review is for catered services. Fruit platter was excellent. Juicy, sweet fruit that makes you wonder«why can’t I get this kind of fruit at Kroger?» Breakfast tacos are loaded with tons of stuff like peppers, onions, and cilantro. Their tortillas are pretty weak. Not sure you should be ordering breakfast tacos from a French place. My advice is get some fruit and maybe some croissants… you know, like a French person would.

The food is here is always fresh and tasty. I usually get their shrimp salad, that is so good. Their tuna and tortilla soup is also great. The young lady at the register often gets on my nerves due to the food preparers placing items in a large container when you have specified small. The preparers have often told her that they may be out of the small containers, thus they use the larger one. While I understand her point of view from a business standpoint, this is not my issue. She also wants you to open your to go container, which brings my blood pressure to a simmer. Maybe they should write the orders on paper and then have patrons give the written order to the cashier. Matter of fact, I’m deducting a star because I just aggravated all over again.

It’s about time we had another in-service. Yesterday’s luncheon was provided by The French Corner. Again, I wasn’t impressed with the selection recommended by the French Corner staff to our host sales representative. The main entrée was the King Ranch, which looked good upon arrival from the courier. We started having issues once we started cutting in and eating. The vegetables were sliced in quarters and extremely large for this dish. Also, there were so MANY large onions. Once I bit into them the nasal cavities were burning. The chicken itself had no seasoning or flavor. I will say I will return, but not for the King Ranch.

I have had French Corner’s boxed lunches a couple times before, which are generally not great, but I thought I would give them a try in restaurant. So, basically their restaurant is really weird. I showed up on the tail end of a Friday lunch(around 1:30 p.m.) and the place was practically empty save for a few of employees eating their lunches in front of the TV and one other couple who was just finishing up. It was very dark inside and there was no real indication of whether this was a bistro style or a sit-down-and-order-with-a-waitress restaurant. Nearly every single table was stacked high with boxed lunches that were being prepped for a later delivery, which meant there were really only two open tables where we could sit. They both happened to be right next to the restrooms and just underneath a large TV. Talk about lack of ambiance. I was with my grandmother so it didn’t really matter, but I found it odd nonetheless. I requested an egg salad sandwich which wasn’t on the menu despite the fact that in the buffet line there was a huge bowl of egg salad and the menu offered both chicken salad and tuna salad sandwiches for sale. Okay, whatever. The manager(I assume he was the manager) was very nice and helpful and offered to make me one right up and told the cashier to charge me for a chicken salad sandwich, as if he was doing me a huge favor. My grandmother ordered a 3-salad plate and selected egg salad, chicken salad & a cucumber/tomato salad. The manager plopped 3 large scoops onto her plate and I watched as all three items started to slide into each other on her plate — yuck. The vinegarette dressing went straight into her eggs, which made the dish really watery. She did not complain but if this was my plate I would be pretty annoyed. Anyway, all of the food was forgettable. My sandwich bread tasted day old and a bit dry, and my egg salad was too runny and lacking seasoning. Granny agreed and we feverishly salted and peppered our dishes. My Zapp’s Spicy Cajun Crawtators chips were the highlight of my meal, and they weren’t even prepared by French Corner. In general, I was really hoping for something more along the lines of a La Madeline, but unfortunately it did not compare. In all, bland, tasteless food and lack of ambiance, and I don’t think I will be returning.

Never again. I recently made a visit The French Corner for breakfast after wanting to try out their food for some time. I often conduct business near this location. I ordered french toast with apples and a side of potatoes. The french toast came out dry with no cream or apples. I asked the staff about the missing items and was informed that they was out of whipped cream and that they would immediately bring the apples. When the waiter returned he was holding a cup of apple sauce… at this point… I was done. My french toast and my potatoes was ice cold. I can’t recommend this place to anyone. unless you like mushy apple sauce!

Nice place to stop for lunch. Reasonable prices. If you are in the area and hungry stop in for a quick lunch.

The food is mediocre at best. The kitchen staff barely speak English and the cafeteria style food line they offer during lunch is over priced for what they’re offering. I went there last week with my friend. I ordered 10 chocolate chip cookies which were great because they’d just come out of the oven. However the Greek salad wrap I ordered was gross. My friend didn’t like his 3 sample salad either. It was $ 34 for just the 2 of us but I’m not above paying good money for great food. I go to check my account this afternoon and see I’m just now being debited for the food. I’m a struggling college student on a budget so 34 dollars is a lot of money when pay day is a week and a half away! I called the French corner and all the chick on the phone could say was there was something wrong with their system and they didn’t find out til Sunday. She didn’t offer any consolation or apologies. I won’t be eating here again.

It was just ‘ok’, we went as it’s close to my hubby’s office, he had an American BLT(which came with fries) and he said it was alright, I had the tilapia with fries and a side of fruit. The fruit was kinda mushy, like it was *just* past it’s prime and the tilapia was cold, tasty, but cold! I’d probably not go back. Also, dumb name for a place that’s most definitely not French!

Alright. They need to incorporate more fresh mushrooms in the cuisine.

A pleasant place, that seems to have multiple ordering formats, a least that’s my impression from dining and reading prior reviews. A couple days ago I noticed the place driving through, so I figured why not stop. A colleague and I wanted coffee as it was early, and were seated to order. I then noticed a mini cafeteria set-up that must be used mostly for lunch dinner when there are more customers? The breakfast menu selections were varied and prices ok it seems. I tried a quiche with my coffee, which was tasty yet a little smaller than I’d expected, and not the generous traditional ‘slice’ of quiche for an entrée. The coffee was good btw. Overall, the service was ok considering a small number of patrons at the time, and the interior is comfortable and well kept. I guess I need to come back for lunch and see how they rate.

I went during lunchtime, and the restaurant wasn’t terribly busy. There were three people in front of me, and there was also a party of 30 arriving shortly after me. I would suggest going during lunch either on the early or late side of the lunch hour. I ordered an avocado and brie sandwich(on a baguette) with French fries. It was delicious! I think I will attempt to make this at home and add bacon. So far, the restaurant deserves four stars. However, I docked a star for the ordering process. The guy taking orders didn’t understand English well. The lady in front of me finally said, «I want a salad with chicken on top!» after he didn’t understand the concept of a grilled chicken salad. The same guy yelled out what’s ready as he walks around all the tables, which is how you get your order after paying. He kept yelling, «grilled cheese sandwich!» Finally, he came to me and asked, «What was your order?» I replied, «an avocado and brie sandwich.» He then put the plate in front of me with a loud thud without explanation or apology. Even my coworker was surprised. My coworker kept saying, «This place is weird,» but was unable to explain why. I thought the restaurant was okay, but probably would rather explore other nearby restaurants.

Don’t get the cookies unless they just came out of the oven. This place use to be housed in my work building and my co-workers are always talking it up. So we stopped in on Friday for lunch and the whole place confuses me. I did the 3 items and got — fried shrimp, house salad and a rice mix. It was all good but slightly overpriced. It is more like a cafeteria style setting but there are items you can order a la carte or that aren’t even out. Overall, it was a nice place, I would probably come back.

I went there for lunch and the outside creates an expectation for he place that does not match what you encounter inside. I was surprised to find that it was a cafeteria style ordering. The food was ok but not a good value for the price. I don’t know what is the identity of this place or what they are trying to represent.

More times than not lunch meetings greeted me with a bevy of dry bread and bagged chips from The French Corner! For a minute there I thought this place was a box lunch spot with a whirlwind of Tuna Salad, Roast Beef and Ham sandwiches. That was OK though… if it was free it was for me. Funny thing about the catering menu… although this place was called«The French Corner» there was not a section distinctly French/European in name. There was«Traditional American»,“Central/South American”, and a lumped together«Tropical Island, Asian and Mediterranean» which is not a fusion section, promise. It was not until I was in the Medical Center area looking for a place to eat that I saw the place. Figured why not? Perhaps my limited experiences with them made me pleasantly surprised. Apart from the usual sandwiches there was a great«Three Salad Lunch» special with 6 different types of salads to choose from. Moving on there were a number of entrees that are rotated out(Which I recognize as similar to the catering menu). French Corner does put a lot of care into their ingredients. The flavor of the marinates, rubs and other sauces really shows that. Favorite entrees thus far? They include: — Grilled Chicken with Wild Mushroom Sauce — Salmon Pontchartrain — Homemade Meatloaf — Beef Brisket(I do realize there are better places but here its a safe bet) Catering? They are really great. Box lunch sandwiches are really well portioned(though I would ask for extra condiments like mayo to moisten the bread). Sit down restaurant? They are fantastic, pleasant and competitively priced. The catering price is slightly inflated compared to the eating in menu(assumption being that this is to compensate for additional catering stuff). Je vais manger ici encore une fois!
