The Church Without Walls

I have been going to this church for years. Years! Today they have lost a member. Not only was I kicked out 10 minutes after being seated, the ushers were extremely rude. Apprantly, bringing my furbaby (dog) in who is less than 5 pounds & totally tucked away in her over the shoulder sleeper pouch is a severe problem. Problem enough to be told to leave, on a 1^st Sunday, before I’ve even taken communion. I’ve been going to this church long before the renovations and several Sundays since and I’ve always brought my furbaby with me. She’s tiny, quite and sleeps when shes wrapped under me. She wants to praise as well.lol. Anyhow… I’d been feeling the decline of the overall spirit there for sometime. It seems that Brookhollow has become all about the money they can bring in and the appearances they keep. Pastor West has even stated that «if WE want to continue to have three services on Sundays that WE need to bring in more people» REALLY? We need to bring in more people??? Good luck with that, while your kicking members out!!!

I enjoyed this church. It is in a great location, is really large (some people may not like this) and has awesome facilities for children to learn about God at their level. It’s a little too traditional for me, but the pastor gives a good bible-​based word.

It was nice for my first time! It was actually not to far from me and the message was nice and on point! Though this is a nice size church it still had a personal feel.

Can’t really give this place less than 5 stars due to the consistent bible based teaching that goes on here on a regular basis. The only down side is the sheer size can make it seem impersonal at times, but it is a megachurch so I want to be fair. Some people prefer smaller churches & I totally understand that. Pas is an awesome teacher & many years ago, I was referred to this church by my former Pastor who is a wonderful man of God & I trusted his judgement. This church has many great ministries to get involved in if you desire. There is ALWAYS something going on. The bible study on Tuesday nights does allow you to get a little bit «closer» to the Pastor if you attend regularly. Multiple worship services allows you to attend around your personal schedule. Everytime I have brought friends who have never heard Pastor West, they are always impressed. My mother-​in-​law on the other side of the country even listens to services online !

I can’t bring it to myself to rate Brookhollow anything less than 5 stars. It’s a bible preaching church with a mixture of ages. It’s constantly growing and has a large congregation. Don’t let that frighten you because as in all Churches the more active members are smaller than the mass so it’s easy to feel like family there.
Brookhollow is better known as“The Church Without Walls” as I don’t believe it originally started off as a denominational church. I think that because of associational and hierarchical reasons they decided to join the Baptist denomination. All are welcome from every race and creed. Pastor West is a phenomenal preacher and I personally think it’s best to attend when he isn’t traveling or at another location.
If you need a church home this is a great church to start your search. They have 3 different morning services so if you miss one, you can attend another, so you can’t use I woke up too late as your excuse.

Indeed great things are happening including building a bigger sanctuary. It’s a very large church so some of the intimate and close relationships easily built in smaller churches are harder to foster here. I can’t imagine that most people will know your name. Still the welcoming committee and people working the entrances and directing inside are very nice and friendly. Definitely seems to be plenty of opportunity to get involved in different ministries if you choose to do so.
Pastor West is a great and very knowledgeable speaker. I absolutely love hearing him speak. Depending on the service, I attend the 8am, his sermons can’t be fully delved into as he must leave and teach at another campus. That really is the main thing I wish was different.

Great things are happening at this church. The only reason that I did not give this church 5 stars is because the church is so big to whereas it would be hard for the average Joe to develop a personal relationship with the Pastor/​Shepard. Despite that minor hick up, there are many activities and groups within this church that gives you a sense of community and pride.
