The employees who work here tend to be a bit snobby. No complete foul in that, I suppose. They’re not really driving all of their customers away; they’re still open, yes? [Oh wait, no. They’re now closed. — some time in 2011] I stopped by here a few weeks ago, shopping for a present. It’s a nice gift store, a bit more modern(in design, layout, and products) than Events. Meaning, the space is very open and spread out. Wares are displayed by theme, rather than by function. Safari print items in one nook. Golfers and Fishing themed bar-ware in another. In fact, the entire back section is devoted to pets and pet-themed items. I’m not certain who the target buyer was in that area, but Telfair seemed rather confident with their huge selection. I’m not going to speak completely ill of this shop. My mother bought a really nice set of salad tongs as a wedding present for a cousin here. She’d first stopped at Events, about two doors down, but didn’t find the perfect set. So, it’s existence lends a certain air of shopping around. But does it have staying power? Eh.

When I walked by this little shop, I just knew I had to go in. The entire place is brimming with fun little knickknacks and decorative ideas. The fact that they carry one of my favorite designers(Michael Aram) was just icing on the cake. I’d describe the products as mostly eclectic décor. You’ll see the occasional zebra print on salt and pepper shakers and there’s a whole section dedicated to dogs, if that gives you any idea. There were quite a few bone pieces which are getting to be quite popular, especially in little utensils like teaspoons. There weren’t a lot of large pieces, so don’t come in here looking for a lamp to make a statement. Most of the store consists of little accents like picture frames, bowls, exotic utensils, and little decorative toys. Sure, it was on the pricey end, but quality has to be taken into account. The lack of star really comes from how cramped the place is. With so many expensive items crammed together on a shelf, it is inevitable that something will be broken – and I’m a klutz. The entire time I was there, I was afraid of knocking something over and having to pay hundreds of dollars for some tiny ornament. Between that and the salesperson(perhaps owner?) that didn’t look up from their Ebay shopping, I didn’t dilly dally very long. Nevertheless, I’d come back if I were looking for something like a nice housewarming gift.
