I’ve been going to this place for at least a decade. The service is decent, but always friendly and you seat yourself. IL the food is always flavorful and consistent. I’ve only had their dinner fair so I can’t speak for the breakfast. It’s also quite affordable. The horchata is also nice(not too sweet!) and I really enjoy their red sauce(you may have to ask for this. It comes with a green sauce too) My favorite dish amongst them all is the Torta, which is essentially a Mexican sandwich. All of their meats are good, but I prefer their beef, followed by adobo and chicken. On Fridays and Saturdays it can get loud in there with the music. The hours are good too, I think they only close for a few hours in the early morning, usually after 3 but before 8, not too sure.

A very«no frills» authentic Mexican joint. Roof was leaking in several areas and there were buckets in the walkways to catch the drips. The place seems like a health violation. That said, I ordered anyway. The chips were decent. The salsa was too soupy for my taste, but still good. I had a choice of chicken soup or bean soup. When at authentic Mexican places, I usually try to stick with what I know. I forgot about that rule and ordered the chicken soup. It didn’t taste bad, but Im not used to getting whole boiled bone-in chicken pieces in my soup(very greasy too). The beef quesadillas were awesome and made up for everything else. The whole meal was $ 7.95 including a very large drink with refills(a lot of these places give you a can soda; not here). If there weren’t so many different Mexican food options in Houston, I’d probably give it another shot. I would suggest trying the quesadillas if you find yourself there.

Cancun taqueria, I went to this place 4 times already and not disappointed so I had to write a review all the times we go back for their caldos, or soups we had the mariscos/seafood soup, beef are our favorites, also I had try their quesadilla beef and shrimp are good very cheesy! Also tacos are good lengua, pastor, barbacoa. Chips and salsa always good red sauce not too spicy for me, their aguas or juice I think they are not natural juice a bit too sweet but pineapple or jamaica are good refreshing ones try them. The only reason I don’t give a five starts its because the restaurant need some repairs but hey It has been there forever.

Super slow and no desire to show even decent customer service. My drive thru experience took 20 minutes for 6 little tacos and the total came out to $ 16. Go somewhere else that values a customer.

Ordered the chicken tacos and they were extremely bland. Reminded me of chinese buffet chicken, CHEAP. Food is low priced for a reason.

Terrible food, thus place is dirty. The chips and salsa are horrible, the food was bland, and cold. I would not feed this to my dog.

Taqueria Cancun is your local neighborhood hole-in-the-wall taqueria serving up cheap, tasty eats for those looking for budget-friendly dining options. Service is always fast and courteous. You don’t come here for ambiance– you come here for the super cheap food! Come to feast like a king/queen on the cheap along with an endless supply of warm chips and salsa. Start your morning off with the breakfast of champions here. The breakfast tacos, heuvos rancheros, heuvos con chorizo or huevos con carne asada have all happily filled my tummy many a times. For lunch or the late night munchies, the 3-tacos combo(flour or corn tortillas), enchiladas, and nachos have always been a crowd pleaser amongst myself and my friends. I’m a big fan of their barbacoa tacos because of how much flavor is in the meat! Treat yourself to a delish horchata to cool down your taste buds after a delicious meal. Forget 5-star dining, this is an absolutely no-frills nor fancy-smancy taqueria joint. The greasy food may or may not sit well the next day, but that is to be expected in these types of eateries. Oh, the little sacrifices we make all in the name of food. Come in as you are even if you have to stumble in from your post-evening shenanigans. Writing this review has me wanting to come back to satisfy my taco cravings followed by a pit stop in the vicinity for mangonadas. The constant struggle of the foodie life is real– it’s not easy trying to conquer the world one dish at a time.

I’m soooo glad that this place is only 1 mile from my home. I don’t go often, because I need to lose some weight, but when I have that Texican urge that can’t be denied this is my go to place. It is a mix of Tex-Mex and Mexican cuisine. The salsa verde is delicious and picante. My favorite dish is probably the beef enchiladas. Good food, good portions, good service and great prices make Taqueria Cancun a real winner. Best Mexican restaurant in the area, for sure.

I’m shocked at how cheap this place is. Only in Houston would this be possible. You get a good, delicious and filling meal for two people for eleven dollars. I’m speechless! Places like this is what makes Houston food scene so unique and great. My friend got the enchilida plate with three enchiladas filled with yummy fajita meat and I got a plain Barbacoa Torta. Both were very good! I asked how much I owe and I was shocked when she said eleven dollars. I tipped another ten bucks and still can’t believe it was this economical. This quality of food in LA or NYC would cost way more…

Great food at a great price. Got the #1 lunch with beef and it was excellent. Free soup as well that was very tasty.

Ok. So I used to like to go to this place a lot. Not anymore. The tacos which used to taste good taste really bland. Corn tortillas got too soft. The service was really bad, nobody really cared about us. Not even a smile on their face anymore. I used to go to their drive-thru so I guess I assumed everyone else was nice like that lady. So now it’s at the bottom of my list of places to get tacos. Like when everywhere else is closed — because Taqueria Cancun opens late.

I love their chicken soup, best from any Mexican restaurant. Tips: Chicken soup Enchilada Add onions into the salsa to add a kick! Quesadilla They’re open at 6am in their drive-thru and they’re open until late. I prefer their flour tortilla here vs their corn.

My family’s favorite place whether we’re just craving for a late night snack, celebrating a special occasion or just a lazy day when we don’t feel like cooking. You can never go wrong with Taqueria Cancun! We literally know every server in this place. We have been dining in for YEARS. Also, very good price points and delicious food worth craving for. Try EVERYTHING in the menu!

Just visited Taqueria Cancun for the first and last time. The place is dirty, the salsa tasted like canned tomato soup with a dash of spice, and the fajita meat is full of gristle and fat. I could have eaten better and cheaper at the Whataburger next door. Next time I will. It’s only getting one star because Unilocal won’t let me give it zero.

Ordered their Tri-meat enchiladas of beef, chicken, pork that came with rice and re-fried beans. It has a lot of cheese and some grease, but was good. The flower tortilla was chewy and it has a good, mexican flavor that’s suddle. The best taquera place I’ve ever eaten so far!

Would have NEVER found or known about this place if I wasn’t recommended by a friend, but such a great go-to for GOOD Mexican food. Hole-in-the-wall kind of place you wouldn’t know to stop at otherwise. Bottomless chips and salsa, which is normally standard of Mexican restaurants, this salsa is GOOD, and you can ask for fresh cilantro and onion to add into it, which then makes it REALLYGOOD. Ordered: — Horchata: HUGE cup of Horchata taller than my face for $ 2.25 and SO good — Burrito plate: $ 7.50 comes with rice, beans, and fries(burrito had steak, beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, salsa) Came out toasted and warm — it was great. — chicken tacos: avocado extra available to add too! The service was really good and fast despite it being a hole-in-the-wall. You walk in, you find a seat, they bring you massive menus, and they checked on us 3 – 4 times while we were there. I would come back — I want to try their torta, and quesadilla. Also been told their enchiladas are really good. Everyone else around us seemed to be ordering quite the number of alcoholic drinks — margaritas, beer, beer margaritas, so perhaps worth venturing towards next time. overall, huge fan.

Ordered the hibiscus tea but it was too sweet, watered it down and then it was perfect. If you’ve never tried it it tastes similar to cranberry but no bitter taste. The rice had good texture since it’s not mushy but I didn’t not think it was very tasty on its own, mixed it with some of my chicken tostada. The tostada is basically a meal in its own… That is enough to get full of off. The chicken was hot and not dry, and then the nice cold crisp lettuce on top topped with avocado, tomatoes and cheese made it like a small filling taco salad. :) it also comes with sour cream but I asked for none on mine. Fiancé tried the enchiladas and asked for green salsa on them. I thought the fajita was a bit on the salty side but overall the enchiladas were pretty enjoyable they were super cheesy! We both ate and we spent about 15 bucks in all so it’s a pretty good value. Took a while for our waitress to come to our table after we arrived, when she did come to assist she was very kind so I didn’t knock any stars off for that.

Pulling up to this spot made me think it was like a really Mexican version of your favorite 24hr diner. Unfortunately it was not open 24 hrs or served breakfast all day. Sad, because I was really looking forward to some huevos rancheros. I think this is the best place to eat at in the spring branch area north of I-10 after midnight because it is basically the only place to eat at during that time. Chips were crispy but you could tell it was slightly overcooked and that the oil had not been changed in a while. It’s that old oily smell. Menu had some of the most honest pictures of their dishes. Yes, portions were huge. Yes, it is cheap. I had the beef fajita quesadilla. my friends had an assortment of dishes. The fajita surprised me. I thought it would be better. The waitress was really nice though. Her prompt service was the best thing about my time there. I suggested serving breakfast all day. They would kill it. I should have hit up the Korean spots in that area.
