Its been 2 years since I was here for business trip. I have tacos from here, and I have to say I LOVE their TACOs. I don’t live in Houston, but I sure do miss their foods. If I visit Houston I would definitely come here for some good tasting tacos.

Food was amazing just like the one on Wirt. I walked in and ordered my lunch to go and it was ready go in about 20 minutes. Service was fast and friendly. Food was really good. will definitely be going back with my family. HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.

Decent salsa with chips. Ordered flautas which come 5 to the order. That’s a bit much considering the usual order of 3. Could have gotten fewer but charge would be the same. The flautas had that standard Tex-Mex flavor, not really all that impressive but would do for a quick workday lunch. I came back here one more time after starting this review, and decided I would come back no more. Not worth it if you like trUe Mexican food with true Mexican flavours.

Well, since I can say I am a regular for the Westheimer location, I can tell I liked this one. Though our waitress seemed to be inexperienced, because she forgot some of our requests — forgot the avocado on my tacos, for example — but those are minor things. The quality of the food is good, and the place is clean and tidy.

The food is not good. Our dinner was served cold. The waitress forgot about our table. Just not a great experience… Limited parking

Great place to eat. My husband and I eat here once a week for lunch when he get his break. Service is wonderful. I usually get tacos de trompo which is very delicious. Their salsas are homemade and are very good. Place is always clean and staff is always friendly

First time to eat here and I was pleased. It’s not Tex-Mex and they offer some choices… or at least the way they prepare what they offer… that is different and unique. The place was clean, family-oriented, and the staff pleasant.

Server we had was making plans for after work with friends while taking our orders. My wife ordered supreme nachos and they brought out chips with fajita and melted yellow sandwich cheese. That type of cheese gets hard instantly. They forgot the beans and sour cream. I never thought someone could mess up nachos. It’s the easiest thing to make. So wife not happy, I’m not happy. Would never recommend.

I rarely go out to Mexican restaurants because I have that food at home but I’ve been here several times, since it is close to school and my gf loves it. I will say that, it is good and I was surprised, not only a few dishes but most are good. I come back here whenever I get a chance. The service is great and nothing to complain about since I’ve been coming here.

This place was across the street from the Union Office I worked in. The staff doesn’t speak english so I just did the best I could picked something on the menu there was a picture of, and enjoyed the amazing goodness that came out of the kitchen. With all the language barriers I ran into here I still felt like it was worth it. I didn’t try anything I didn’t like. I would come back here again if I found myself back in Houston.

The best pick on the menu here is the Trompo Tacos. This is what Tacos Del Julio is known for. It’s very succlent, tender and juicy. I always order avocados with it too. The tortilla is very fluffy too. You get a serving of charro beans, which comes out piping hot. It’s great, because it’s well seasoned and flavorful. I’m very iffy about ordering charro beans, depending on who makes them. The gringa is also pretty good here. A bit pricey for Mexican food, but totally worth it.

This is the best of the Tacos del Julio locations. If you don’t order the trompo especial then I don’t know why you come here. It is even better with a side of pina. However, one time I visited right before they closed for the night and the trompo was dried out and the portions looked like they were scraping the grill to get the last bits off. Obviously I keep coming back, and that one visit was a minor blip in their quality. Deliciosa!

Trompo is very close to the real thing, charro beans were good but Siberia taco was cold.

Granted, the big green duck is scary as shit but the food is awesome. I think its amazing that they serve free bean soup as an entry dish instead of the Tex-Mex chips and salsa. The bean soup is bomb. Came to this location because it is closer than the one in the other section of Mexico a.k.a. North of I-10 right outside the loop. We had the flautas as an appetizer. They serve them like your typical Mexican flautas with hotsauce and cream. You will not be unsatisfied. Trust me. Additionally I had the Trompo Taco plate that came with 5 Trompo Tacos with flavored pork, onions, a slice of avocado and all the fix ins necessary to have a mouth-gasm. I definitely didnt finish it and dont know how anybody could hold the record at 32 tacos. Thats incredible. The Horchata here is made by the devil, and it tastes so good. Another of my favorite authentic Mexican spots in Houston. Go here you will not be disappointed. The cashier is a dick tho. Left the place paying 15 bucks for a great meal. Boom goes the dynamite.

BAAAAMM! Best authentic Trompo Tacos ever! Del Julios is above other taquerias! Parking around this place is easy and it’s actually pretty close to Downtown. Walking in, you find a table and seat yourself. It’s pretty simple on which way to go here, Tacos! Don’t get me wrong… The other items on the menu are absolutely to die for too. I just think on the first time visiting you should eat those delicious tacos. First of all! Anyone who serves home made charro beans as appetizers has definitely got right idea! Those beans are spicy and savory, exactly what charro beans are supposed to be. My mother’s favorite is the Cheese Enchiladas. I have never seen her order anything else. The woman loves them! I can stand by her word, they are really good. They are the closest thing to getting them in Monterrey, where she’s from. This review has actually made me want tacos now! Think you had great Trompo? Try these guys out.
