Consistently bad service. The food is good but be prepared to wait, and double check your order — 90% chance it’s wrong.

This place really is a joke. I opened up a business down the street and have been getting drive through breakfast for about 6 weeks. I pretty much order exactly the same thing and it is always a different price and usually always wrong ?? how hard is it to make 3 tacos and put in a bag? today I only got 2 but paid for 3 and last week twice it was the wrong taco! Today I was told 4.34 over the speaker and had to question them 3 times as I know its around 3.50 and still it was missing one. The employees and just dumb and ignorant and that of course comes from the manager as I know some fast food that does a great job. Why do they even wear rubber gloves? oh I know its to protect the employees hands as they sure do not get the reason at this place as they prep food then just do everything else with the gloves on such as handle money, pick up the phone, clean tables and they all do this at this location. Be very concerned about that stupidity . Do not ask or should I say axe them why the only breakfast on the drive through board is tacos and no breakfast plates as after 6 weeks they still dun know Im told… This place is a shame and the commercials where Rosie is carefully slicing up the veggies in a nice kitchen is sure a joke…

What a shame to have a good and decent product at a reasonable price yet have such horrible service. I have been a patron of this location since it opened its doors more than a year and a half ago and have always been pleased with the freshness and quality of food. Unfortunately, the service experience is a hit or miss — mostly a miss. I am regular(once/week) customer. Most of my visits are via the drive through but occasionally we dine in. Service is slow and points to obvious lack of leadership in the organization. What is of MOST concern is that I have reported them to the City of Houston back in November 2013 for improper food handling/preparation. The cashier managing the drive through window, after taking payment would then use their un-gloved hands to scoop salsa and into small containers and lid it then put it in my bag. I spoke with the manager about this several times before reporting the city. Today, I waited in line for more than 8 minutes 3 cars ahead of me. When I got to window to pay, the cashier once again had a container of salsa sitting open and next the cash register(as before when I reported). When I asked for salsa, she scooped a container full and handed it to me. I mentioned to her that she was in violation of code. She quickly and nervously responded saying«I didn’t do that.» Huh? Next time you visit pay attention to the kitchen area — it might make you sick, literally. This place needs an overhaul in management.

You’ll love this new taco cabana on yale street not for the convenience of it before the new walmart opens up on yale but because it is clean, super clean! The atmosphere was inviting and it features all the contemporary flavors of mexico. The patio was redesigned differently and so was the interior(design) was different than the rest of the taco cabanas i have eaten at. From the traditional mexican music to the lights hanging around the restaurant and the colorful tiles it has the look and feel of a traditional mexican restaurant which i loved. Those are the positive notes about taco cabana and i couldnt believe i would have had any problems with it since it was so new, so clean and so delicious. There really is no need for a review on the food as it is always great, however, a search of the address to arrive at the destination had it listed at 167 yale and it is at 127 yale. Not a biggie since you can see it coming down the street but if people want to get technical, be irritating and be sticklers then its safe to mention that then. I also did a search online to find the specific new location which has been open now for almost 3 – 4 weeks and it was not listed on their updated locations which for a major company with 180 different chains across 3 states i did not expect to see that. Other than being nit picky about that which really are not issues, the food was great. For those who are not familiar with taco cabana make sure you try it out as a fourth meal instead of taco bell because it is much better. Everything from the queso for your chips and the margaritas are awesome. And yes, i did say margaritas, cheap too, so whats your excuse.
